Can you? I had always understood that if you signed up for the military if they tell you you have to deploy then you have to go, you can't just decide to quit on mass when war breaks out. There must be some species of contract term or mandatory notice before quitting or something or people would just quit the moment there was a conflict

His job wasn't to do what was best for the uk. His job is not to do what's best for Canada. Exactly. THAT is his job. Sadly the fools who vote for him thought he was going to be prime minister

You didn't say anything remotely like that. Once again you find yourself having to go back and rewrite what you said .The cops dropped him off, he died a week later. What kind of accountability do you think was missing here? -
carney is not a buffoon. Carney is a talented individual who is quite good at his job. Your confusion is a result of you quite understandably mistaking that his job was prime minister rather than carpetbagger

Well you were the one that suggested it so I had no idea you were a smitten cop lover. you "WELL THE COPS CAN TELL US!" Me "the cops DID tell us" you "IF YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU MUST BE SOME SORT OF COP LOVER!!! Ok kid -
Except i'm right and you're wrong LOLOL ANd you've completely exposed yourself now by not understanding how procurement works. You claimed to be a part of procurement for the military and that is a lie, The facts and the truth. You seem opposed. You claimed that canada made it's decision to buy these planes in the 9O'S. Your words: " The decision had been made when we started paying over $10 million per year for the F35 development back in 1997." This was in response to a post noting they're deciding now if they should buy the planes. I pointed out that this was entirely wrong. we did not make a decision to buy the planes back then at all. That investment simply gave us the right to at a later date. You have argued that is false.... then posted proof that it's 100 percent true. Which is typical for you We absolutely did not make a decision to buy those planes back in 1997. In fact we had not made a decision to purchase them by 2007 or even 2017. So what you said is a lie and you seem to be misunderstanding how procurement works, agreeing to put money into development in exchange for the right to purchase the planes later on if we want is not the same as placing an order for the planes or making the final decision You've embarrassed yourself. And proven what we've been saying about you all along

Eyeball said only they can say for sure, and sure they said but they didn't REEEEEAAAALLY REALLY say, they just sort of said, which is sad so he said they should really say, see what he's saying? and by that he means they should just admit they're guilty of something whether they are or they aren't and if they don't then they're not really saying. 'Nuff said. -

They did. They said they didn't do anything wrong So I guess that's case closed then is it? -
Not at all. Almost immediately after the election the conservatives and the liberals wound up in a near statistical tie with regards to voter intention and that has held for about 10 months. The up and down basically fell within the margin of error of most of the polls, but they all agreed that it was basically a statistical tie for close to 10 months. Now, magically carney is doing everything and the media is assisting him to try and make it look like there's a gap between the liberals and the conservatives. They are insanely desperate to make it look like the conservatives would lose an election therefore people should vote for the liberals or not at all because there's no point because the conservatives will lose. That is what they are attempting to do Sorry if you haven't been paying attention but you're up to speed now There really won't be right now, just like almost all the other 'trade agreements' it'll be an agreement to work out an agreement some day maybe. but to be perfectly honest right now he's less interested in a deal and more interested in optics. For a variety of reasons politically it makes sense for him to go to an election this spring. But he is well aware that these things can turn around on you in a heartbeat and you need every advantage if you're going to call an election early. He really needs a success story to come out of India and for it to be the front page news because right now his lead over the conservatives is seriously tenuous. He really can't go much before a year and it would look horrible if he went right now while the NDP is still selecting a leader. But it's obvious he wants to go sometime in mid April or early may as long as he can conjure up a fake reason to go so that people don't blame him for calling it early or playing political games. That can be disastrous. India was a major failing for Trudeau. A success there would help Carney in a lot of ways even if it's a symbolic success. But if it gets drowned out by an Iran War then that doesn't do him as much good

Except for the fact that I'm right you're wrong Exactly. You just proved my point perfectly. We contributed money to its development and that gave us the right to purchase. But it absolutely did not commit us. No decision was made at that time, we absolutely had not placed an order at that point So when you say the decision was made that is absolutely a lie. No decision at all was made other than we would put up 10 million dollars towards the development which would give us the right to purchase later if we chose to And everybody just realized you've been lying all along about having served in the military. Literally everybody who's been around at all understands this. They understand that no purchase agreement was made and that both harper and Trudeau considered other choices and had not committed to purchasing any aircraft That was a severely hard fail on your part

Sure, it's theoretically possible that if they have nukes they don't use them. It's also entirely theoretically possible that they (or their ruler) go nuts and decide to 'river to the sea' israel and preemptively nuke it in the name of allah. IT's also theoretically possible that next time the US has a carrier battle group in the area they manage to get a boat or sub withn 3 or 4 miles and light one off. How many navy personelle in a 2 carrier battle group again? How many billions goes to the bottom if they do that? And nobody can PROVE for sure who it was? Pretty tempting if tensions are high. Sure. It's hard to compare any two countries like that to be fair but it's not JUST israel who'd be at risk. Neither india or pakistan are likely to pick fights with the USA, but iran frequently does. And they already have missiles that can reach into europe in their inventory right now Context matters and you're deliberately taking that quote out of context to try and make a very poorly organized point that was too weak to stand on its own
-
Now I know you've never served in the military. Decision was absolutely not made back then. And when it comes to aircraft procurement $10 million is nothing. Got payment was not for the purchase of aircraft, it was basically buying into the right to buy aircraft on the road if we chose. It was closer to a club membership than it was a purchase contract You obviously are not clear on how this works but indeed NO decision was made at that time other than it bought us the right to make a decision down the road if we wanted.

FBI Interviewed Trump Accuser Epstein Files Show
CdnFox replied to robosmith's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You realize your post kind of shoots the whole idea down There's no evidence trump took anything out of the files, it would make no sense for him to take some of it out of the files and leave other parts behind that proved there was more to the story, they've accessed the files through another source and they refer to the testimony as outlandish. Which makes sense considering that even though the FBI obvious in the '80s they didn't see any value in pursuing it with trump. Indicating that the charges did not seem plausible to them This is about as dead in the water as it can get. There's no real controversy here. Somewhere over the last 45 years three out of the four files referring to the specific issue or either lost or never made it into The final police files and we have them and we know what they said and they're outlandish. If you find the idea that over 45 years something can go missing from those files to be strange in any way shape or form you need a new brain -

Oh everyone gets the truth kiddo and everyone knows it's not us. It's you But you keep going little guy!!! -
Reports indicate that Trudeau makes many many millions per year as a result of that and paybacks from all of the money he funneled during his time. Seems to be working just fine for him

Few people care more about borders than those who care about profit. The ability and freedom to earn money is completely dependent on the existence of and defense of a structure of laws and systems that allow the business to operate with stability. In short you can't have Business Without Nation Prophets can cross borders but they can't live without borders. Business people are very nationalistic

Are you deliberately being stupid or are you being sarcastic? You don't realize that puts the relationship at just a few years old, not decades old or the like? Utterly irrelevant. The point is that china benefited him, not who he's going to benefit. While working with Brooksfield, a company he still has significant ties to and whose executives he's met with recently, china lent him an obscene amount of money and directly benefited him tremendously China doesn't do that kind of thing for free. You borrow that kind of money from the Chinese Banks and there's a price tag beyond mere repayment of interest.

Also they're holding the picture backwards. This kind of blatant nonsense is what gives fuel to the white nationalists.

With lots of big expensive hotels and lots of $1,000 a plate airline food apparently And they never got anything for all of this work and travel. Except they boosted their own name and promoted their own brand.
