Using the fire in a theater example, tell me how the intent to spread panic is worse than the intent to spread hatred.

Depends what you mean by 'hatred'.    It could well be argued that saying something like " i don't think we should be letting palatinates into our country during these volatile times"  is not promoting hatred at all and is a reasonable position - others would suggest it's encouraging "hatred' of another group.

The 'fire' example (which isn't quite accurate btw) is more cut and dry as the intent is obviously to create a specific dangerous reacton, whereas something like 'we shouldnt' let them in'  has a less clear motivation.

Was Trudeau's saying that the unvaxed were 'wastes of space' and we'd have to decide 'whether to tolerate them'  hate speech? Many felt it was. Trudeau says it wasn't.

I would argue the line gets crossed when there is a clear suggestion that illegal actions should be taken.  "kill all jews" -  pretty cut and dry. "we should't 'tolerate' this group we disagree with -  Hmmm. Preaching intolerance is pretty damn close to that line.  "we should restrict entry from conflict zones especially given the demonstrations here" -  nahhh.  That's a call for legal action not illegal.

So - you have to have a definition before you can answer the question.

Why on Earth would I ever choose to vote for someone like you?

Ahhh so now i'm justin trudeau in your mind :)

Talk about the ultimate love-hate relationship, you must be VERY conflicted  :)

Well they say those on the left are more likely to have mental illnesses, i suppose a little delusion was to be expected.

Just like WalMart is in business to save you money, right?

No... no, walmart is nothing like Real Estate agents.  More like how we have lawyers to help people navigate law, we have doctors to help people navigate medicine,  we have plumbers to help people keep their plumbing working. We have experts available in life to help us address complex issues that we personally may not understand.  (like the concept of supply and demand and its affect on prices for example :)  )

"Walmart" just sells stuff. That's not the same thing as an expert helping you address issues.

I'll just add that to the list of things i can't believe you needed explained to you.

The problem really isn't a shortage of houses, it's a shortage of money.

The problem is entirely a shortage of houses.  Period.  IF there were more money but still a shortage of houses, prices would just raise till that money was consumed.  That's how it works -  if supply is lower than demand prices rise, if supply is higher than demand prices fall.

If people had a $250K deposit in the bank and could afford the other $750K @ 6%, they'd be building homes like mad.

What homes? There aren't any for people to 'buy like mad.

So - what would happen is that  home prices would immediately shoot up till you needed 500 k in deposits and 1.4 million to buy the home.  Or more.

Rents would be the same btw - they would go up accordingly.

It's hilarious that @Moonbox tried so hard to argue that you didn't need something  as obvious as that explained to you - yet here you STILL are denying that more homes would mean lower prices or that a shortage drives the prices beyond what people can afford.

We.... don't... have... enough..... homes.   IF you have MORE homes, prices will fall and people will be able to afford them. IF you have LESS homes then prices go up. That's why prices are high - we don't have enough homes given our population growth

No, the corruption Trudeau was investigated for was always his fault but I don't recall any charges, trial, conviction or punishment.

What a load of crap.  You pulled that shit the last 2 times we've talked about this.  And you CONSTANTLY blame harper and you constantly still support justin AND the ndp propping justin up.

You don't care about accountability - justin was found guilty, you were told and provided proof of that, AND proof the RCMP said a crime had been committed for sure but they thought maybe justin could give himself permission to commit a crime.

And you STILL support him and lie - pretending that he did nothing wrong at all.   Crime!?!? Waaah?!?  What crime could you possibly mean? There's no crime!! Justin's great!!"  Pffft.

You're a dishonest lying sac of crap and you always have been and you always will be.  You're just bitter that your leaders of choice have been shown to be horrific criminals and incompetents and it'll proably be a generation or two before anyone's stupid enough to believe in woke nonsense again.

    His confirmation bias is next-level.

He committed to memory all of Fauci's claims of vax-induced herd immunity, the jabs being safe and effective, preventing hospital visits, and preventing the spread, and they'll be burned in his memory until the day he dies, but he can't for the life of him remember anything inconvenient from yesterday.

It's not even confirmation bias at this point - it's full on self delusion to the point where it detaches his mind from reality and fact and creates this little bubble of un-reality for him to live in where all his socialistic ideals still haven't been proven wrong.

In his world, the sky is polka-dot if that's what it takes for his echo chamber thoughts to be true

Yes it's abundantly clear you support the catch and release program politicians enjoy.

What's abundantly clear is that you like to accuse others of your own failings.
First you don't remember trudeau ever being charged or found guilty - now somehow it's all my fault again.

Child - YOU choose to keep him in power. You and others like you. And as i've said a million times now, as long as you and your kind support his corruption nothing changes.

You had him at "Vanity Fair". It's official now. He'll trundle off now.

The guy is literally pretending he's never heard of the 'aga khan' issues or that Trudeau was found guilty.  And that's despite me having posted the information and news accounts for him many times in the past.

He thinks a 'logical argument' is just demanding proof over and over as if it's never ever been discussed anywhere in the world before and certainly not with him! :)

He insists if it were true people would RIOT!!!  FFS he KNOWS it's all true and we can't even get him to stop defending the liberals or blaming harper for it :)

There's no one thing, or even a few things that will solve this problem.  A comprehensive rethinking of how our entire economy is working right now needs to be undertaken.

Here's a good article on it:

    https://thoughtleadership.rbc.com/the-great-rebuild-seven-ways-to-fix-canadas-housing-shortage/

A summary of some of the items:

    1)  Curbing immigration, and/or being selective with who we let in based on skills (focusing on trades)

    2) Massively expanding and promoting skilled-trades labor, training and education

    3) Loosening zoning and density restrictions on PBR housing, lowering ppty taxes on apartment buildings, providing lower-interest rate loans on apartment construction, easing fees and approval times for such projects etc.

What needs to be done is far more expansive than this, but I can't summarize it all here.

a rare case where we do agree - those things will make a substantial difference and some of them can make a difference within a year.

What was his sentence and how much was he fined - or was he incarcerated?

Been through all that too, and it's a 3 second web search on top of it

Just have to keep sealioning don't you.  Not an honest bone in your body. Keep demanding the same info again and again even when you know it.

Their should be no end to the stories in the news about a sitting Canadian PM being charged, convicted and sentenced.

Yeah - it was quite a bit at the time. Made the papers for weeks.  And yet you still vote for him.

You got even one to corroborate your claim?

Shown you several of them, it's still talked  about in the media from time to time, as you well know.

And this proves the point. Anything that gets reported and any fact you don't like you just pretend it's never been discussed and couldn't possibly exist.

It's what the left Does. Then you crybaby when nobody believes you and pee yourselves when people don't fall for your sealioning.

Everyone knows about the Aga Khan charges - you just look like a douche for pretending it never happened.

  11. I don't quite get it here -  the vast majority of those aren't him saying what he'll do - he says basically 'it'll think about it but it would depend on the circumstance."   Which generally speaking is the answer every politican should give about anything that is going to happen in the future.  The response will depend, we'll see.

And his stance on iran is pretty much the same as bidens.  So what's the problem.

Why would this list be scary to someone?

Nice circular argument again. Right back to the 'It must be back to what didn't work for a century because after one year part of PlanB didn't work, therefore all of PlanB is no good'.

But it did work.  Things were better under that plan than the current plan.

It actually is straight forward logic to say "we tried this and things got worse - lets go back to the way it was where thinks were better".  Then you can see if you can come up with something new.

But we sure haven't tried giving a choice between severe punishment and successful rehab tho - and that does sound promising.

    What was he charged with?

We've been through this a dozen times, and he was found guilty.  And like a typical leftie, despite you knowing the answer, despite me having provided tonnes of proofs and sources  you STILL pretend you don't know.

What a hypocrite you are. And you wonder why people are so disappointed in the left and why your ideas fail so often. You just can't deal with the truth.

Then when we do something like wipe out the cbc or change laws you like it'll be "Oh -- why oh why didn't you discuss it with us, we could have worked something out!!"

Yeah right. All you do is lie

If you can admit stuff to watch, you can admit that some people feel it's tough enough to want to protest.

That makes no sense. And i'm not talking about your obvious typo.

Most people would find an operation to save a patient's life hard to watch - but you'd have to be 10 different stupids to say that makes it ok to protest.  Just because something is unpleasant doesn't some how justify protesting it.  That is beyond lazy thinking.

Like wise - just because something is 'easy' to watch doesn't make it ok.

People who've never owned real property find the market hard to understand. You don't need to "believe" anything.

Thats why we have realtors - who spend their days trying to make sure people understand and get into the market without undue stress.

But they have to be able to afford the homes and that only comes with increased supply.

Sure - and he doesn't.  He's still arguing it isn't over in another thread. :)

But that came much later. What i said is he needed to have it explained to him. He doesnt' get it. He doesn't understand it. He's not even that he denies it, he just doesn't get it or think that i sounds like a real thing.  Call him 'skeptcal' if you want to be charitable :)

hanks for providing yet another example of why nobody can take you seriously.

ROFLMAO -  Ok there robosmith :)

Thanks for providing yet another example of  why eveyone laughs at you for jumping into a thread hoping to attack me and looking like an 1diot :)

In the end i was right and he was wrong. If you dump tonnes of homes onto the market - either country wide or locally - the price will go down and many more people will be able to afford them.So your entire involvement here was based on the fact that i was right but you don't like it.  LOL - you're a living joke kid :)

Vancouver Police just arrested a woman for shouting "long Live Oct 7th" through a loudspeaker at a Pro Palestine rally. Charges as a Hate Crime are being investigated.

So where's the outrage over someone you hate's Free Speech being violated? (sound of crickets)

The sick thing is a number of people can be heard shouting it back. Round them up too please.

With the tiny bit of information you've provided (which based on your previous posts probably is missing some important data)  i wouldn't support charges against the woman. She's clearly a disgusting person but that's her right in a free country.

What IS hilarious is you bring it up and then demand to know where the outrage is before anyone's even had a chance to reply or finish reading what you wrote :)    First i've heard of it.

The cops are investigating - so if there's more to the story then we'll find out but as is i don't think she SHOULD be charged.

Don't worry little guy - if you've told the truth then your heroine won't be going to jail :)   I mean - celebrating the death of thousands of innocent people in an act of criminal violence isn't NEARLY as bad as misgendering someone, which your side feels deserves jail time right :)

If there was truly any irrefutable evidence of it ordinary people would be hanging bureaucrats and politicians from lampposts.

Dude trudeau got busted for actual crimes and you won't even help vote him out of office.  Nobody's hanging anyone.

And you're free to call the obvious a lie and live in a dreamworld of trickle down magic.

You have done smoked yourself retarded hippie :)

The "obvious' is that if you dump tonnes of product onto the market prices go down. That's what's obvious. When it comes to real estate even a small increase in product can have a downward effect on prices.

I don't know why you don't believe that is true.

Nor is it' "trickle down" anything. Supply and demand has a powerful impact on prices.  That's an established fact. "trickle down" isn't even a real thing, it's a phrase someone coined years ago to poorly describe elements of keysian economics and now the left just uses it for anthing that doesn't involve increased spending and taxes.

I could just repost what ArmyGuy did. Been posting the same thing myself for years.

You can build more homes in Van/TO but they're never gonna be affordable.

Easier to find or make a job where  it can be affordable.

You can repeat the lie all you want - but at the end of the day if you build more homes than demand increases then prices go down.  That's how it works, that how it worked yesterday and how it will work tomorrow.

If you're really smart you tackle it from both ends and reduce population growth AND build more homes.

Like ... this really is economics 101.
