But we Canadians have created a civilised place in the world: a federal state with two federal official languages but no official cultural. We get along.

Your province is on the verge of electing a gov't that is committed to separating by 2030.

We don't get along.  And lying about it only makes things worse.  This is why canada is falling apart. WE can't even be honest about our problems.

Yeah well that's what usually happens to newsworthy things.

Fewer than you'd think. And as this case proves if there's nothing newsworthy they'll just make some shit up and pretend it's news and you'll lap it up :)

You found something when you looked into it way back when it was happening? Fu ck off.

I wasn't stupid enough to believe it in the first place :)  I don't expect you to be THAT smart, but you COULD at least look shit up rather than just believe it hook line and sinker.

Oh you mean like Aga Khan treating Justin to a muti million dollar vacation where he had him to talk to on his private island?

Yet you still support the guy and defend him daily? Or Jagmeet who talks about how hard people have it wearing a 15 thousand dollar rolex?

You seem to be coping with it ok.

It seems Poilievre might be against the idea too given he's been telling corporate lobbyists to take their issues to the public instead of him.

I'm sure he proably is - but he's against a LOT of what the libs and dips have promoted and the crimes they've committed in recent years and works harder than anyone to get rid of them, so it's no surprise.

Seriously? I'll believe it when I see it.

No you won't.  You'll still be here claiming every day that justin is a golden boy and it's all harper's fault.

    Is that information public?

Yeah i have to admit, that baffles me too.  It kind of defeats the whole concept of the anonymous vote for me. I mean we have to declare donors here but that doesnt' mean you voted for the party, lots of people donate to more than one party for political reasons and lots change their mind before voting day.

Kid - you've got the same opportunities and powers 'they' do.  And we see that all the time, "litlte people" change the country plenty. You can be as wealthy as you want and your talents will let you .

If you're feeling like you're a failure then the fault is not in the system or the wealthy but you.  And if you ARE happy with what youv'e got then shut up.

The amount of contained SV40 (in the vaccine) and its binding effects on P53 seems to be in question now,  the video imbedded here is interesting.

It's the downstream effects that are worthy of consideration IMO. At present, most of the  denial revolves around current (observable) harm, which is bad enough BTW, but it seems very few have their eye on the horizon.

The fact that I know 3 people with biology degrees who now deeply regret having gotten vaccinated is a bit concerning as well... two were for job retention and one was for travel related purposes (caring for elderly parents).

Who knows, I certainly don't... but it's noteworthy that the reason I balked at the vaccine was simply because of ill informed ridicule that was contained in the rhetoric of the day. Seeing the madness surrounding Ivermectin removed all doubt for me and it was also a (WTF) turning point for the people I mentioned above as well.

Yeah - i was in an 'at risk' group so for me the shots seemed worth the risk but i never doubted that they were severely downplaying the potential harm, especially with something as radical and untested as mNRA technology. I mean - the stuff holds a lot of promise but it's still a brand new concept.

And it made me wonder WHY the gov't and others were being so psychotic to get to 100 percent vaccination. Why they wanted to punish and hurt anyone who didn't comply.  It's not rational. Any sane person knew we didn't need anywhere near 100 percent.  ANd we've always respected people's right to choose in the past, even when gov'ts got pushy about vaccines.

How can people say this garbage with a straight face when it is Biden's administration, not Trump's, using the law to keep him in court and making it difficult to campaign.

Yes it is Bidens administration, their lead prosecutor, Matthew Colangelo was number 3 in Biden's DoJ and left to work for Bragg. Hmmmm I wonder why he would leave a higher position in the federal government to take a lower position in New York?

Self delusion is the first skill they teach new democrats. One of the reasons they have more mental health issues.

    It's da system, Bro.

Yan only tweak it a pinch at at a time. You're talking to someone who'd popover the border and buy Western Family cheese for $3.99/ 2 lb block and Fraser Valley butter for 69¢ lb. System's always been f*cked up.

But as I say, you wanna tax the rich, start with the actually rich. Even the kid slinging burgers knows $250,000 isn't a lot of money, definitely not "rich"  anymore (snickers thinking of Dr Evil scene)

First off - did you not JUST say you lived in the north central interior?  You don't "pop over da border".  Unless you were lying again that is.  Maybe it's because you use your credit card? :)

Second that's due to supply management - brought in by the first trudeau.  It's got NOTHING to do with the grocery stores. I'm sure the grocery stores would love to be able to sell american butter and eggs etc  - it's not their fault that we can't.

And by the way - i love that the guy who's all 'pro union' is mad that he can't buy things at the cheapest price :)  If we ban unions then i'm sure prices will be able to go down here for all KINDS of things ;)

And if you start taxing the rich - suddenly you have a lot fewer rich around. And then you have a lot more poor.  And you don't get jobs from poor people.

Nooo - jeez could we have ONE conversation where i didn't have to explain things to you as if you were a child?

My only 'covid narrative' is that people should have been given choice and their choices respected, and i've demonstrated why long ago. This has nothing to do with that.

What i'm saying here is that the report clearly ignores well established data that IS extremely relevant, and by doing so all it's going to do is feed the belief that there are some who are attempting to obscure the truth.

A half truth is as much of a lie as a lie as the saying goes .

Dude, It is from NY Times.

Yes - a publication well known for being extremely bias which is why they probably thought it was worth covering

But again - not really relevant. They didn't commission the report as far as i can tell. Sure - this is an exercise in confirmation bias on their part but the report itself is the questionable bit of thinking

Because there will be all kinds of 1diots who, you know, will not be able to think about it rationally and will post it as 'not fitting someone's narrative' around the net :)

Using the fire in a theater example, tell me how the intent to spread panic is worse than the intent to spread hatred.

Depends what you mean by 'hatred'.    It could well be argued that saying something like " i don't think we should be letting palatinates into our country during these volatile times"  is not promoting hatred at all and is a reasonable position - others would suggest it's encouraging "hatred' of another group.

The 'fire' example (which isn't quite accurate btw) is more cut and dry as the intent is obviously to create a specific dangerous reacton, whereas something like 'we shouldnt' let them in'  has a less clear motivation.

Was Trudeau's saying that the unvaxed were 'wastes of space' and we'd have to decide 'whether to tolerate them'  hate speech? Many felt it was. Trudeau says it wasn't.

I would argue the line gets crossed when there is a clear suggestion that illegal actions should be taken.  "kill all jews" -  pretty cut and dry. "we should't 'tolerate' this group we disagree with -  Hmmm. Preaching intolerance is pretty damn close to that line.  "we should restrict entry from conflict zones especially given the demonstrations here" -  nahhh.  That's a call for legal action not illegal.

So - you have to have a definition before you can answer the question.

Just like WalMart is in business to save you money, right?

No... no, walmart is nothing like Real Estate agents.  More like how we have lawyers to help people navigate law, we have doctors to help people navigate medicine,  we have plumbers to help people keep their plumbing working. We have experts available in life to help us address complex issues that we personally may not understand.  (like the concept of supply and demand and its affect on prices for example :)  )

"Walmart" just sells stuff. That's not the same thing as an expert helping you address issues.

I'll just add that to the list of things i can't believe you needed explained to you.

The problem really isn't a shortage of houses, it's a shortage of money.

The problem is entirely a shortage of houses.  Period.  IF there were more money but still a shortage of houses, prices would just raise till that money was consumed.  That's how it works -  if supply is lower than demand prices rise, if supply is higher than demand prices fall.

If people had a $250K deposit in the bank and could afford the other $750K @ 6%, they'd be building homes like mad.

What homes? There aren't any for people to 'buy like mad.

So - what would happen is that  home prices would immediately shoot up till you needed 500 k in deposits and 1.4 million to buy the home.  Or more.

Rents would be the same btw - they would go up accordingly.

It's hilarious that @Moonbox tried so hard to argue that you didn't need something  as obvious as that explained to you - yet here you STILL are denying that more homes would mean lower prices or that a shortage drives the prices beyond what people can afford.

We.... don't... have... enough..... homes.   IF you have MORE homes, prices will fall and people will be able to afford them. IF you have LESS homes then prices go up. That's why prices are high - we don't have enough homes given our population growth

No, the corruption Trudeau was investigated for was always his fault but I don't recall any charges, trial, conviction or punishment.

What a load of crap.  You pulled that shit the last 2 times we've talked about this.  And you CONSTANTLY blame harper and you constantly still support justin AND the ndp propping justin up.

You don't care about accountability - justin was found guilty, you were told and provided proof of that, AND proof the RCMP said a crime had been committed for sure but they thought maybe justin could give himself permission to commit a crime.

And you STILL support him and lie - pretending that he did nothing wrong at all.   Crime!?!? Waaah?!?  What crime could you possibly mean? There's no crime!! Justin's great!!"  Pffft.

You're a dishonest lying sac of crap and you always have been and you always will be.  You're just bitter that your leaders of choice have been shown to be horrific criminals and incompetents and it'll proably be a generation or two before anyone's stupid enough to believe in woke nonsense again.

    His confirmation bias is next-level.

He committed to memory all of Fauci's claims of vax-induced herd immunity, the jabs being safe and effective, preventing hospital visits, and preventing the spread, and they'll be burned in his memory until the day he dies, but he can't for the life of him remember anything inconvenient from yesterday.

It's not even confirmation bias at this point - it's full on self delusion to the point where it detaches his mind from reality and fact and creates this little bubble of un-reality for him to live in where all his socialistic ideals still haven't been proven wrong.

In his world, the sky is polka-dot if that's what it takes for his echo chamber thoughts to be true

He thinks a 'logical argument' is just demanding proof over and over as if it's never ever been discussed anywhere in the world before and certainly not with him! :)

He insists if it were true people would RIOT!!!  FFS he KNOWS it's all true and we can't even get him to stop defending the liberals or blaming harper for it :)

There's no one thing, or even a few things that will solve this problem.  A comprehensive rethinking of how our entire economy is working right now needs to be undertaken.

Here's a good article on it:

    https://thoughtleadership.rbc.com/the-great-rebuild-seven-ways-to-fix-canadas-housing-shortage/

A summary of some of the items:

    1)  Curbing immigration, and/or being selective with who we let in based on skills (focusing on trades)

    2) Massively expanding and promoting skilled-trades labor, training and education

    3) Loosening zoning and density restrictions on PBR housing, lowering ppty taxes on apartment buildings, providing lower-interest rate loans on apartment construction, easing fees and approval times for such projects etc.

What needs to be done is far more expansive than this, but I can't summarize it all here.

a rare case where we do agree - those things will make a substantial difference and some of them can make a difference within a year.
