Your thoughts on the next Federal Government.
CdnFox replied to CITIZEN_2015's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Not saying you're wrong but unfortunately it's what we've got. There has to be a common agreement on what is or is not rights or else it's just he said she saidthe majority mob will rule with whatever they feel is appropriate at that time For rights to have value remaining they have to be granted authority under law and a sovereign nation were they simply don't exist for practical purposes even though they may exist for moral purposes. So until we can change that document we're stuck with it -
On the floor presumably.

Well that's their other little trick, you see Venezuela isn't "REEEAAAAAALLL" socialism they say. And they say that because it failed. Anything that fails isn't REAAAAAAAALLLLL socialism. REEEAAAALLL socalism works you see so the fact it didn't proves it wasn't. So all these different socialist models from communism to market socialism etc have been tried and they all failed, but if we finally.... FINALLLYYYYYY .... try REAAAAAALLL socialism then it'll work brilliantly and we'll all be happy. See ... the fact you don't know that just goes to show they need to take over so that they can make your decisions FOR you, you're obviously not qualified or you'd want to try REAAAAAALLLLL socialism already!!

Which mans they absolutely can control it. So it does. Sorry, but that's how english works. p But would then face the usual scruitiny of parliament. It would have to go through the normal process of laws and such. If your argument is 'this changes nothing' then why do they need this law in the first place? And what emergency beef panic and holdup happened then that gov't control would have solved? What law would they have used if they could have at that point? It prevents nothing. It's just them planning to use the next crisis to further an agenda. You hide it well. There's no conspiracy theory here.. It straight up says in the next emergency they want the ability to control "animal" food production and to push plant based protein. That's what it says. So why? Expain to me how eating more tofu would have saved us during covid. Ohh i seeeeeee - so this will be an emergency measure to save us money!!! Gotcha. Sigh. Exactly!

How Canada's Middle Class got Shafted
CdnFox replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well in that case you're just plain wrong. Our quality of life by every measurable metric has reduced compared to what it was before 10 years ago. Our healthcare is worse. Even middle class people struggle to find affordable housing and to buy enough food. 25 percent of canadians will use a food bank this fall. Inflation has reduced our practical spending power. Business investment is leaving canada for the first time in our history, our adjusted gdp per capaita is falling which means there's less tax dollars to provide services just when interest is sucking up a lot of our tax income. The situation has become so bad that our birthrate has now fallen to 1.3 births per female in their life time. We need 2.2 births just to maintain our population so we're now completely and utterly dependent on immigration to even keep our current population levels because people dont' have time or money to have kids. People wait many many years to get a personal doctor AND the medical clinics which used to fill in the gaps are all but not taking anyone anymore. Emerg wait times are now regularly into the double digit hours of waiting, and in many cases the emerg rooms are closing for many days per week or altogether, and numerous people have died in the hours it takes for the ambulance to get to the nearest open facility. And you think a bit of tech makes up for that? It's ok if your wife dies due to lack of care or you can't afford a home as long as you've got good download speeds on your iphone? -
Trump is a Conman and a Fraud
CdnFox replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
And i said when was he convicted of rape. If it hasn't been proven in court then it hasn't been proven.. Rape is a criminal charge - courts are where criminal charges are proven. Sooooo.... show me the court ruling. .............. THere isn't one is there. He hasn't been 'proven' to be a rapist has he. In fact he's never even been charged with rape. You lied. Again. You knew what you said was false and you said it knowing that. And you want me to believe somehow your side is BETTER than trump? You must be joking. -

No, in BC it was lifted JULY 2024. B.C. lifts vaccine mandates for health care workers; new vaccine registry launched | Radio NL - Kamloops News How effing stupid are you? I'm not perfect but by now you should know if i say something is true there's about a 99 percent chance i'm right so use your god damned EFFING HEAD I VERY SPECIFICALLY SAID BRITISH COLUMBIA! And you're going on about when US ELECTIONS ARE. Goddamnit Rebound, everyone already knows you're a little slow, there's no need for these little reminders of yours. -

Housing affordability is a crisis in Canada
CdnFox replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Then nobody buys homes to rent. And then developers build less homes. Which is precisely what's happening now. If you had a million dollars kicking around would YOU invest it where the gov't will force you to lose money and force you to be responsible for other people? Of course not. So nobody does it and rents shoot through the roof or are just not there at all. Welcome to Canada in 2024. The correct answer is incentivize building more homes and protecting landlords so that its worth taking the risk. Landlords have no rights. -

CdnFox replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Really. Where did he get convicted of rape? See - your side HAS to lie. You have to fake shit in order to make your point or you don't have a point. And you couldn't dispute any of the actually true things he said. This is a severe disadvantage for Kammy as the campaign stretches on. -
That's true but what their real driving force seems to be is that if we DAAAARREEE to suggest that ANYTHING about the us or it's history or it's former leaders is considered "great" or "worthy of respect", then people won't want to tear it down and accept communism and or severe statism as an acceptable alternative. The 'outrage' is faked. All they really care about is convincing people that america is a no good very bad evil place that must be destroyed so that their new socialist utopia can flourish

Depending which country you're referring to that's demonstrably not true, unless you're going back only 8 years or so. -
Trump will run US economy like his business
CdnFox replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Bush tried desperately to change the laws regarding that to prevent the problem and got shot down each time by the dems. Unfortunately he didn't "Own" the economy, he needed help from the dems to pass major changes. So the dems blocked him, and they even blocked CLINTON, but you feel it's all bush's fault. Ok kiddo Didn't ignore anything at alll. That's utterly irrenelvant to the discussion. I can see why you'd want to change the subject tho The dems created new laws and the whole 'fanny mae freddy mac" mess that lead to a massive housing bubble. By the time bush got in it was already in full swing and would need major changes to the law to wind it down for a soft landing and the dems blocked that. Even before he started his second term there was really nothing to be done. Any attempt to mess with it at that point would mean it would pop, so all he could do was to try to prop up the economy as best he could to help soften the landing, but in the end it was the blow to the international banking system which he didn't control that caused the crash to be as deep and wide as it was. The great recession was 100 percent the result of the dems and their "everyone deserves a home" policy where loans were granted as long as you even promised you WOULD look for work. never mind if you had any -
People say they hate things casually all the time. It isn't always...... HATE (dun dun duuuuuuunnnnn). People say they love things all the time too but it isn't always love Do you really need me to explain how language works? I hate it when you do that.

You need to learn to read betterl (l) after consultation with the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, the Minister of Industry and provincial governments, provide for measures to (ii) regulate commercial activities that can contribute to pandemic risk, including industrial animal agriculture, (iii) promote commercial activities that can help reduce pandemic risk, including the production of alternative proteins, and (iv) phase out commercial activities that disproportionately contribute to pandemic risk, including activities that involve high-risk species; This is pretty straight forward. in the last pandemic meat packing plants had a number of outbreaks. Did you have an alternative reason why they would give themselves the power to control ANIMAL production or phase out "HIGH RISK SPECIES"? (and which are those exactly?) or to control commercial activites that promote plant based protein, which is veggie burger and the like. So yeah. It does. Sure, there's lots of dishes that are vegitarian that are very good. But i'm no more interested in the gov't banning meat than i am having them require vegetarians eat it.

Trump’s New Money-Laundering Scheme
CdnFox replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It's wrong for him to fund his campaign selling watches. He should be funding it by selling influence like a normal politician -
CHARLEBOIS: Is Bill C-293 Canada's 'Vegan Act'? | Toronto Sun The bill represents an unprecedented governmental intrusion into personal dietary choices and market dynamics Short version - the bill gives the gov't the power moving forward in a pandemic or other crisis to shut down all meat packing plants and even "Mandate" that people eat vegitable proteins only. Seriously, Next time it won't just be restricting where you can go, they will literally mandate what you can eat. The amusing thing is the lefties keep screaming that it's over, it's in the past, why still talk about it? Then they pull this crap.

Trump will run US economy like his business
CdnFox replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
LOL most of that was caused by the dems in the first place. The great recession was 100 percent absolutely a result of the democrat policy under clinton of "everyone should have a home to call their own in America (even if they can't afford it)" and the laws they changed to make that happen. Even clinton said they want way too far but his democrats resisted his efforts to dial it back. Bush tried his hardest but with the democrats controlling the seats he was unable to do anything, till it blew up. Then he had to try to fix it, and ran out of time. So obama got stuck with it. But you want to blame that on republicans Here's how things usually work (even more so in Canada). The left wing gives away goodies and treats and destroys the economy. The right gets to work and has to be the 'bad parent' and put things right and tell the kids no more candy before bed etc. BY the time they get the mess fully cleaned up the dems swoop in and claim credit for the recovery. Obama's timing was just a little off. When times are tough, people turn to the tories. Always has been, always will be. -
In fact lots of them are. Here's what the left needs to get over. At any point in history there are things that are socially acceptable which will not be socially acceptable at a later point in history. This has been the case many many times. That does not mean that the people of the day who grew up with an accepted the social norms of the time are bad people or didn't achieve incredible things. Sure, Lincoln owns slaves. But that does not mean he was not an incredible person or that he didn't fight and free slaves as well It is entirely possible to look back at a historical figure and acknowledge that some of the things he thought or did were entirely wrong by the standards that we judge things today, and still acknowledge the incredible achievements and things that he did. It is wrong to try and erase history just because in history things were not the same as they were today. In fact it's not just wrong it's pretty much criminal. Libraries in history have been burnt with this excuse, populations slaughtered with this excuse, rich histories and cultures lost because of this excuse. It is the ideology of the Vandals. You can idolize the positive elements of Robert E lee and still recognize that slavery was wrong and needed to be destroyed.

Trump is a Conman and a Fraud
CdnFox replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Go read it again. Go slowly, use your words. I'll get a white board out for you if necessary What I said was that they ended it and that the reason that they did so now is that they were being forced to because there was an election. The position isn't popular so it was being used against them. In fairness I should have been a little bit more specific because you wouldn't know anything about this election, i'm sure you dond't follow Canadian provincial politics that much. The far left party known as the NDP had believed until very recently that they would walk away with this election with zero effort. And they had good reason to believe that. Suddenly a conservative party which hasn't won a seat in something like 50 years in British Columbia and in fact was so obscure that most people had no idea at even existed suddenly sprung to life and began to pull neck and neck with the NDP. The moderate party which was the "other" party that was sometimes in power and sometimes out Was basically forced to collapse into the conservative party and gave it additional strength. This was a complete another shock to everybody, and the conservatives began to speak out against the whole covid thing which is currently unpopular considering that we have a severe nursing and doctor shortage and the covid policy was contributing to it and so the NDP was forced to give it up. They've been forced to backtrack on a number of policies actually. They were getting away with some pretty left wing things believing there was no challenger at the moment. My comment was they only continued it this long because they hate giving up the power that comes with a crisis. It's really the only reason why in 2024 we still have covid restrictions on medical staff.
