Losing china's manufacturing would sting for a short while and then they'd be fine. But china could not replace the western consumer dollars it would lose.

I've tried like hell to avoid sugar and starches as much as possible and honestly you pretty much have to make all your food from scratch. The amount of sugar in even the most simple commercial foods is insane. And the salt. And it's worse in america believe it or not, That's why i said "IF" they did it right even the fat kids would benefit from having a healthy diet provided. But i doubt they'd do it right. Eating healthy is not a problem of money - i can do it very cheap. Its mostly a problem of time. It's not super fast or convenient.

They have very limited political ties and even more limited military ties but no, they're not "allied" with them and economicially they have VERY little interaction. It actually worked very well. Right. Neither of those statements are true. They have very little technolgy - they just make the technology we give them. They have manufacturing but they're very far behind in actual technology. However - for them finding another trillion dollar market to sell their goods to wouldn't be so easy. this got me curious to see how many people actually do starve to death in the states. As near as i can tell, basically none. So i looked for people who died from malnutrition. People don't actually die of malnutrition, but malnutrition may possibly play a role in their death and if that's the case then they call it a death attributed to malnutrition. Even with that very 'loose' definition the death rate is pretty damn low and almost non existant for children. It's more elderly. So - surprisingly fact verified. People don't actually die of starvation in America.

At the end of the day when it comes to gov't i really just want to be left alone as much as reasonably practical while still maintaining a country, and i look for political solutions that produce results. That tends to push me to center-center-right as they say. If something works, i'm interested but there just isn't much that is considered on the 'left' side of the spectrum that actually achieves anything other than lining the pockets of the politicians. Some things make sense - i was in favour of legalizing dope even tho i don't use it. I think free birth control for girls was a smart idea (bc initiative). And so you should be Truth be told thats something we have in common then. I recognize that there's some (often due to mental health challenges) who can't. But i believe that more should. I believe the only thing we 'owe' such people is to provide a path they can walk to get there if they choose.

At the time the choice was to exlude them and push them far deeper into the russian sphere of influence or bind them and their economy to north america's. And we made the right choice.
