Eroding democracies: Turkey, Hungary, Georgia... Canada?
CdnFox replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Absolutely. There's an old saying, i forget the author - "I don't want to be the leader, i want to control the selection process". The CBC is the one that really tips the scales, because as a state broadcaster it's SUPPOSED to be neutral and people tend to take it that way. There's a lot of people for whom it's the only real media source they consume regularly. Then you get the gov't itself, working hard to control the information getting out there. Now - most gov'ts do that but an aggressive media and effective opposition tend to counter balance that. But - most of the media goes very light on the gov't and doesn't ask the tough questions or dig into scandals. And they underreport on negative stories for the gov't. and overreport on negative stories for the party they don't like. The more you control the flow of information the more you control the outcome. -
Would that be trump V2? Seems like he's on track to win another term Frankly the late night talk show hosts and comedians are desperately hoping that's how it works out. Four more golden years of shows writing themselves What was he convicted of as president again? And what criminal fraud charges has he been convicted of as president? No, it's just funny.

First off - points for resurrecting "dingaling" as an insult Next - loving the salty 'faux outrage" Your salty tears always bring a smile But oh - you're deeply concerned about his life! For sure! So worried! Buddy - the internet stays on all day where most of us live. And computers are everywhere. Half my posts come from my phone as i'm walking around doing something and i just use voice dictation. You get an alert, you look at your phone, you say a few sentances, you don't even need to stop walking. Yeash. Tell me you're bitter about getting called out by the guy without telling me.

TUCKER CARLSON OUT AT FOX NEWS
CdnFox replied to Aristides's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No, i suspect if we're looking for root causes that your mother may have had a slight substance abuse problem during pregnancy But more immediately you're obviously getting frustrated that you're getting beat up so much and you're realizing that you really are more of a comic-relief mascot around here and not taken seriously And obviously some days that gets to you more than others. The memeing always gives it away. DEFLECTION!!!!! LOL! If it eases your frustration at all, i genuinely am amused at the majority of your posts and it really does make me smile. I almost choked on my tea at @WestCanMan tellilng you to take your victory lap but try not to loot any stores And I do appreciate the humour you're bringing whether intentional or not. So honestly thanks for that, And try not to let any of this get to you - it's just the internet in the end. -
LOL - true. And that is largely what the left is about. They take something you say out of context and then try to make the argument all about that. "I like peanut butter". Well what exactly do you mean by that? Do you like the peas? Or the nuts? Are you saying peas are better than nuts? Because that's racist. You need to clarify what you mean. And butter was one of the favorite foods of the colonials. Do you have any idea how many people suffered under the colonials? You might as well be spreading slavery on your bread! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! This is how they work and i see that exact pattern in how mike is responding. It's pretty obvious what you meant. And it's pretty obvious that most people aren't interested in significantly reducing their lifestyles over this issue. So - instead of focusing on the issue he's got to take what you said out of context and then attack you as a person. That allows him to dismiss your arguments because you're a bad person who likes racist peanut butter i guess. Fear and anger are the two great motivators for humans that have been used by churches, con men and environmentalists for millennia. If you can make people afraid or angry you can motivate them to action, even extreme action. Shame culture and hierarchy relies on making people angry at those who don't follow the doctrine, and makes people afraid that they'll be called out for saying or doing the wrong thing and violating doctrine.

You find the truth racist? That is demonstrably a truth. They hadn't even discovered metal yet. They did brutalize each other and frequently committed genocide. They kept slaves and sold women. And had done so for thousands of years. What would make you think they still woudln't be?
-
This sure looks like that common leftist tactic of avoiding a losing argument by nit picking on some detail and then pretending to be morally outraged about it. Is that REALLY the best you've got mike?

It's nothing even remotely similar. It's perfectly valid - rape of children was NOT a gov't sanctioned thing in the slighest, and it happened to people inside schools of every type. And still does. So to suggest that somehow the first nations are special in that respect is not plausable. Fun fact - right now first nations communities experience much higher levels of child rape than any other segment of society. When this was noted the first nations pleaded that the rapists not be tried under the normal laws because they should be forgiven for it because they're oppressed. Let that sink in a minute. it is precisely the same. There are no "regular" kids. These are kids who don't speak english, aren't from the same culture, have different religious and societal beliefs, and are being forced to assimilate. You cannot possibly claim they are different. Sounds about right. My 80 year old french neighbor grew up in a quebec orphanage. He reads the accounts of the first nations in residential schools and he's like "yeah? THats how it is for everyone right?" It was every bit as bad. Which doesn't make what the first nations people went through better somehow. But - it was hardly all about them. It was the times. Thankfully times change. Explains your lack of education (HA!!! JK. )

TUCKER CARLSON OUT AT FOX NEWS

Based on a false 'dossier' cooked up by the Dems. Oooopsie - forgot that didn't you. And to this day despite the mueller report finding no evidence of conspiracy or 'collusion' Clinton swears the election was stolen from her and trump is illegitmate. Sooooo ... Yeah. Who's being dishonest? Kinda sounds like maybe you're conveniently forgetting a few things. Did you need me to say it slower? ROFLMAO - wow - you're just an emotional wreck today -
Nobody cares. Nice attempt at changing the topic tho. Nope. I picked 4 posters at random and they were al higher. So's mine, and i'm a pretty contentious guy as everyone knows. Here's the deal. If you really believed the crap you spew about Canada constantly night and day - you woudn't need to spew it. If you really were a happy person with everything you wanted, you wouldn't be here spewing the same crap about canada night and day. If you really thought you were popular, you wouldn't need to try and argue you would be so much. and if you really knew i was wrong, you wouldn't feel so desperate to convince me otherwise. Maybe you need to think about that for a bit.
-
You bring it up constantly when it isn't a topic. You also don't address that topic, you just say how you hate it and why you think that's ok with absolute bullshit 'legalesque' arguments. It's got nothing to do with the topic of the day. Aside from a certain poster known for his religious bibilcal posts, you are the only other one who constantly day after day repeats exactly the same thing whether it's relevant to the discussion or not. None of the rest of us do that. Even Americana Antifa doesn't do that. Sorry kid - you're obviously pretty deeply disturbed. That is pretty textbook obsessive behavior that speaks to some pretty serious underlying issues.
-
No, it's a nonsensical argument and a very common one portrayed by the left. This is very similar to the "if you don't believe we should ban guns, then you hate children". there is no logical inconsistency to suggest that you are not concerned or responsible about what the future of the planet is, and still say that you hope that whatever happens future generation find ways to cope and be happy. I don't spend a moment worrying about the future of africa and couldn't care less, but that doesn't mean i don't hope whoever lives there has a good life such as it is.
-
Well that's absolutely untrue actually Forced attendance at school was definitely a thing for white immigrants who werne't british or french (such as russians or the like) and they deeply resented it and there was much uproar about it. So for sure absolutely without a doubt they were. You are 100 percent wrong. But more importantly you were aware of what his point was, and i guess you agreed with it seeing as you felt the need to dodge it.

I am You're delightful It's like watching barney fife on the andy griffith show except with politics You're kind of fun like skeet shooting. It's pretty easy by and large, it's not nearly as hard as hunting real birds, but it's just kind of satisfying to watch the little clay pidgeon shatter and turn to dust with each hit You MUST know by now nobody actually takes you seriously after all. You're just target practice. Oh - and another meme LOL - BANG! *Shatter!*

You prayed to live in a state you hate? You prayed for your fellow soldiers to be treated badly? You prayed to be disliked publicly? Well...... interesting choices. Here's the thing. A person who actually has everything they want doesn't go on the internet and talk about the exact same thing day in and day out like a religion, which is what you do with your hatred of Canada. You are OBVIOUSLY a deeply disturbed and unhappy person based on your bizarre obsession. It's pretty obvious.
