I'll explain percentages to you if necessary later) If he goes to an election now and secures a majority, the cusma negotiations won't make a difference to him politically because nobody can force an election, AND the general public will have forgotten about it 4-5 years from now when the next election is held. (a majority gov't can't be forced to go to an election you see). So this is what's driving the liberal thinking right now, if they can find a way to go to an election now while they're very popular then they might be better off than risking being forced to an election later when they're not popular. And even IF they come back with a minority, the opposition will be reluctant to force an election again within a year so cusma will be over and they'll have time to try something else to look good.
