Trump’s Most Audacious Lie Yet
Rebound replied to robosmith's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
So what? If you stick a microphone in front of someone 24/7 and ask them every single question under the sun, of course that person will make a mistake. It’s because we are human beings. Obama once said he’d visited all 57 states, when he meant to say all 57 states and territories. Being human doesn’t make a person unfit to govern. -

You might think that the laws of the United States are a joke, but I do not. -
Can a person convicted of a felony serve as President, when the United States Constitution states that a person convicted of a high crime or misdemeanor shall be removed from office? Can a person lawfully serve as Commander in Chief of the United States military... if it is illegal for him to own a gun? Can a person lawfully make treaties with foreign nations... if it is illegal for him to travel to 37 foreign nations, including most of Europe? Can a person lawfully "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed," if he is a convicted felon?

Nope. 34 separate crimes. We don’t have double-jeopardy in the United States. If you murder 34 people in a shooting spree, it’s not one crime, it’s 34. -

Politico did no such thing. You are delusional. Or you can’t read above the third grade level. BTW, Trump is a 34-time convicted felon. He is a men actual convicted criminal. -

“All of us here today do not want to see our election victory stolen by emboldened radical-left Democrats, which is what they're doing. And stolen by the fake news media. That's what they've done and what they're doing. We will never give up, we will never concede. It doesn't happen. You don't concede when there's theft involved. We will not take it anymore and that's what this is all about. And to use a favorite term that all of you people really came up with: We will stop the steal. We will not let them silence your voices. We're not going to let it happen “ ”We're gathered together in the heart of our nation's capital for one very, very basic and simple reason: To save our democracy. We're going to have somebody in there that should not be in there and our country will be destroyed and we're not going to stand for that. You have to get your people to fight. We don't have free and fair elections. Now, it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. And after this, we're going to walk down, and I'll be there with you, we're going to walk down, we're going to walk down. Anyone you want, but I think right here, we're going to walk down to the Capitol, and we're going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women, and we're probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them. Because you'll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong. We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated.“ -

Can you show us where it says that in the jury instructions? Or is it something “you heard on the Internet”? -
Garland on Contempt

What is the legitimate purpose of having this audio recording? They have the transcript, so they want it so they can put edited snippets on the Internet in order to attack him politically. This is not a Constitutional function of Congress. -

She really f-cked up thinking that Trump wasn’t going to encourage a bunch of goons to storm the US Capitol. -

No. He used his lawyer as an intermediary to pay this person hush money. He was clearly trying to hide the expense. He even paid extra to cover Cohen’s income tax as part of the scheme to hide the payment. Nixon hatched illegal schemes with his lawyers, too. -

So, you mean to say that the United States economy is complex? Big admission from a conservative. You guys have been peddling this oversimplified supply side nonsense for decades.

Wow. Your lunacy is really off the charts! So you are incapable of reading the article and coming up with one single example of a conflict of interest. As in, “Mr. X was involved in a Biden business dealing while they were also involved in a official government capacity.” Why is this hard for you? If somebody used to work for the government, they’re allowed to take work outside of government after they work in the government. That is not a conflict. So where is there a conflict of interest cited in the article? You can read, can’t you?

It could have been exculpatory, if Trump asked Cohen if the scheme was legal, and if Cohen told him it was. But Trump did not ask if it was legal, because he knew it wasn’t.
