False, here are the official statements of the National Archives: August 12, 2022, statement The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) assumed exclusive legal and physical custody of Obama Presidential records when President Barack Obama left office in 2017, in accordance with the Presidential Records Act (PRA). NARA moved approximately 30 million pages of unclassified records to a NARA facility in the Chicago area where they are maintained exclusively by NARA. Additionally, NARA maintains the classified Obama Presidential records in a NARA facility in the Washington, DC, area. As required by the PRA, former President Obama has no control over where and how NARA stores the Presidential records of his Administration. September 8, 2022, statement Some news outlets and individuals on social media are mistakenly reporting that the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) confirmed that a large number of boxes of Presidential records are missing from the Barack Obama administration. This is false. NARA has never issued any such statement and is not aware of any missing boxes of Presidential records from the Obama administration. https://www.archives.gov/press/press-releases/2022/nr22-001

BLM still exists, and police officers and departments today are far more aware of the consequences of excessive use of force. And the police officer who killed George Floyd is in prison. https://www.du.edu/news/research-why-was-black-lives-matter-so-successful https://www.aclu.org/news/racial-justice/how-black-lives-matter-changed-way-americans-fight

I do not for one second believe it’s coincidence that President Trump called the largest black civil rights group to the 21st Century a “hate group”. Kayleigh quoted stupid things that two people said, out of millions of protesters in all 50 states. What did President POS Trump say about the “Unite the Right” Nazis who were protesting to keep up Confederate statues, resulting in a man driving his car into a crowd of counter-protesters? Didn’t he say there were great people on both sides? So a white supremacist rally that turns violent is ok, but a black civil rights rally is “hate speech”? I do not accept that at all.

You said, “The VP supported street violence. Do you support her? How about Ol' Joe? Or AOC? Or Lizzy Warren? Or any of the Democrats...?” To be clear, I support Black Lives Matter and I do not support violence nor do I think BLM supports violence.
-
You said basically all democrats support street violence and that’s a bunch of bull.
-
I disagree with you very much on that point, and, no, I do not want to watch a heavily edited overdubbed YouTube video about it.

What are you talking about? YOU QUOTED A FEDERAL COURT RULING WHICH DONALD TRUMP LOST. The Court ruled that, Yes, the President can declassify information BUT he or she must follow some protocol. Trump did not follow any declassification protocol. There is ZERO written record of these documents having been declassified. So the rest of the DoD assumes they are still classified, and assumes the secret agents, etc, have not been compromised.
-
The BLM protests and the riots are separate. I will not vote for any politician who supports street violence or crime. Only peaceful protests.
-
Did you read the entirety of what you quoted? A Federal Appeals Court already ruled in 2020 that the President cannot declassify information without any process at all. IOW, Trump already lost a court case over this notion that he has “wave a magic wand” declassification authority. AND, the President cannot declassify nuclear-related information, per Federal Law.

New Automatic Moderation has been activated
Rebound replied to Greg's topic in Support and Questions
That’s what happened to me. I was a little surprised because I think the signup told me I’d be moderated for one post but it was more, so maybe you need to update the notification. Or not. I’ve already been called a lot of names by other members. Not sure how the moderation is working on that but I report it when it occurs and hopefully those people will adjust their behavior. -
Exactly. If you read that article: “Though there aren’t specific protocols that the president must follow to declassify a document, federal courts have ruled that they will “refuse to recognize what they consider to be an inference of declassification,” McClanahan said. The U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals wrote in a 2020 decision about whether statements made by then-President Trump declassified the existence of a CIA program that “declassification, even by the president, must follow established procedures.” …to the extent that he [Trump] had any nuclear information in there, declassification would not help him in the slightest, because he would still be disseminating restricted data or moving Restricted Data,” he added. There are other federal laws in place that bar a president from taking government records, whether they are classified or declassified. “ What do I really think, personally? It truly depends upon how significant the information was. If Biden or the DoD determine that some or all of it is appropriate for declassification, then they should. And it would be best if we have some inkling of what the information is, in broad terms. Remember, too, that the Director of the FBI was selected and appointed by Donald Trump. As for Bannon going to prison? Yes, he’s a damn crook, and he belongs in jail. As for Democrats going to prison? Sure, if they break laws. Definitely! Any American can stand up and say, “I’m a Democrat!!” Just like that. And I don’t think that you should be immune from laws because you call yourself a Democrat or because you get elected. Congressmen, Judges and Presidents should be held to HIGHER standards, not lower standards.

The FBI Plot to Kidnap Gretchen Whitmer
Rebound replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Proof: Two guys were convicted. -
A) You can’t point us to a Federal Law which says a President can declassify any information without notifying anyone. Too bad you can’t figure out how stupid that is. For instance, it means the rest of the government assumes an undercover operative is safe, when his identity has actually been exposed. B ) Executive Privilege hasn’t been ruled on for ex-Presidents because it does not exist. MAGA thinks Donald Trump can break any law he wants. But the truth is, he can’t. His crony Bannon’s going to prison. A former President is just another US citizen. He has zero exemptions from any laws, although he probably gets though customs faster.

The FBI Plot to Kidnap Gretchen Whitmer
Rebound replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Entrapment would be the case if one of the FBI informants were charged, because they were acting in cooperation with and on behalf of law enforcement. But if someone agrees to go along with a crime, and they plan the crime , then they are a criminal. Doesn’t matter whether an undercover cop talked then into it or “set them up.” -
Translation: You have no idea what Executive Privilege is. I assumed as much. In your mind, Trump’s legal defense rests upon a legal concept you do not understand at all. Executive Privilege pertains to communications between the Executive Branch and the other two branches of government, particularly pertaining to national security. It does not apply at all to a former President, and President Biden made a proclamation to that effect regarding Trump. It can only be asserted by President Biden, but he can assert it on behalf of other individuals. However, the case before us pertains to communications within the Executive Branch, and so Executive Privilege would not apply even if Trump were still President.

Why single out Pelosi? Isn’t it clear that Congress should pass anti insider trader laws which affect all congresspeople?
