They know it’s real, but they want to keep selling oil. What they should do is invest in clean energy tech, because that’s the future, but they don’t care about the future, they care about the now. Can America move half or more of our electricity generation to wind and solar? Absolutely. One party’s for that, and one party fights it. One party embraces a man who says windmills cause cancer. So there’s sanity versus insanity. Joe Biden is pursuing the right strategy. In fact, we should triple down on his spending. Double electrical generation over all and increase renewable electrical generation fivefold. Build more electric cars and move more industrial energy consumption to electricity. The result will be a BOOMING US economy; because everything runs on energy and the more we produce, the more we can manufacture. We can improve our standard of living and our quality of life, we can be an exporter of advanced energy technology and cut the unstable Mideast and Russia out of the equation. That isn’t liberal, it’s plain common sense. And it is absolutely doable.

Governments today can be broadly broken down into two forms: Single-party government, and multi-party government. There are many single-party governments: Russia, China, Venezuela, Iran, Saudi Arabia, North Korea. Wherever you have single-party government, you have crackdowns on civil rights and freedom, because the ruling party wants to stay in power. Where you have multi-party government, you almost always have better civil rights conditions, because political dissent and opposition are allowed. So what you try to distinguish as Capitalist/Socialist, I think is better described as Single Party/Multi-Party. The Marxist definition of Socialism is different from pre-existing and post-Marx definitions of Socialism. Marx did not invent the term and he and Engles used the terms socialism and communism interchangeably. By the commonly used, non-Marxist definitions, social security is socialist and the US military is communist.
