A better question would be, why would it NOT be at war with the West? It's been at war with EVERYONE for 1400 years. Which is hardly surprising given their doctrine tells them Islam must rule the world, and that anyone who disbelieves must be forced to convert or killed. We teach so little history these days. I'm constantly running into people online who had no idea that most of the Middle East, along with Turkey and Azerbaijan, was Christian for a thousand years before being conquered by Muslim warlords.

People on the left don't. But conservative-minded people have never been happy with the flood of uncivilized brown people into Canada. The left continues to embrace cultural relativism, but culture decides the quality of life for a people. The reason the Middle East, and indeed all Muslim nations, are shitholes is because of their culture, which in their case came from Islam. Africa is a shithole because it's full of Africans. Remove every single one and replace them with Germans, and Africa would become a paradise. Culture matters. So when you bring over millions of people from failed cultures and then grandly tell them not to bother to integrate because we admire their culture so much, what you get here is a growing portion of the population and electorate - soon to be the majority - whose culture and values lead to systemic failure. Where was China sixty years ago? Or South Korea? Or Singapore? That was when basically all of Africa got its independence. Africa is worse today than it was sixty years ago, with worse infrastructure and government. It's going absolutely nowhere.

Pakistan is just about, next to Afghanistan, the center of Islamic fanaticism. They're also incredibly inbred because they all insist on marrying their first cousins. Average IQ is about 82, and they have a high incidence of birth defects. And they are among our top source countries for immigrants.

Yes, Canada made a big mistake when it started taking in people from the third world. Before that, we brought in people much like ourselves, who had no trouble integrating. The first brown people we allowed to immigrate officially were nannies and housekeepers kept by well-off liberals to look after their kids. Once they were citizens, they quit, of course, to find something better. They also brought their estranged kids in from Jamaica and Haiti, where they'd been living with grandma. Those kids had poor educations, were resentful at being brought north, and were alienated from the other kids in school. The teenage boys hung around together and formed gangs, which were the beginning of our nastier street gangs. Now Canada began to have drive-by shootings just like the US. Yay.

Hmm, more like he was approached by the Chinese consul, invited to the celebration, held discussions about what was best for China, and they both decided that the most China-friendly party in Canada was the Liberals.

It's more complicated than that, as the European Jews were the ancestors of the Israelites, driven out of Judea by the Romans. Also, you might mention that the Ashkenazi Jews were driven out of surrounding Arab lands, or never left Israel in the first place, since a significant population of Jews always managed to stay. And the bulk of the Arabs migrated into that area themselves in the last hundred and fifty years. The Arabs in Israel have that, as well. The ones in the territories can't be trusted with that. The last 50 years have turned them into a death cult.

Siblings do not perform equally in anything. Even if they both enter the same profession, one will be better. Price's Law says that in any human endeavor, 10% of those involved will perform half the work/make half the sales/score half the goals/sell half the books or records. In all of human history, no two people have ever performed or succeeded equally. Different cultures create different wants, needs, and expertise. Some peoples have always outperformed others. If the Left insists, as it does, that blacks are a separate group, that indigenous are a separate group, then you have to allow for them having separate cultural wants and needs, different priorities, different success rates. The insistence on equal results is like taking a bunch of scores away from the NHL high scorers and giving them to the low scorers so that things are equal. Which, naturally, discourages the high scorers from scoring as much. Blacks and whites are not equal groups. They have different median ages, and since the majority of blacks are immigrants, different cultural values/views, and education levels. Not to mention different language skills and cultural knowledge. The same goes for other minorities, including the indigenous, the bulk of whom grew up on reserves, with, once again, different cultures and behaviour patterns. The idea that everyone should have the same economic and social success and outcomes is a Communist concept with no basis in reality.

There are a number of reasons why people aren't having more children. Certainly, housing affordability is one of them, as is daycare affordability and availability. Another is that the economy was heavily changed when all those women started working. Labour is paid according to its scarcity. If you suddenly double the workforce then labour is worth less. Thus while a man with a middling decent job could support a wife and five children in previous generations, that just isn't the case now. Both parents have to work, and that means it's hard to allow for the cost and time away from work for the mother. Couples are not getting together and staying together as they used to. Once upon a time, most people were married in their early twenties and started having children. Now, hookups are the thing, and couples have unrealistic expectations of what a relationship looks like. They break up over stupid crap their grandparents wouldn't have even been tempted to separate over. This might also be partly because people are maturing later as we coddle them right through university. And they're not learning how to deal with others on their own because unsupervised play just doesn't happen much anymore until kids are in their early to mid-teens. In any event, couples are often in their mid-thirties before they have a secure enough relationship AND are financially secure enough to consider kids, and that doesn't leave a lot of time left for big families.

Which is inexecusable. It's open racial and gender hiring preferences. Which we have been told is bad. Except when the public sector does it. They are in the departments where I know executives. Health Canada and Indigenous Services Canada. The RCMP did as of several years ago. Don't have up to date info.

The effects will be large, depending on the validity of the models and which model you choose. But they will be most impactful at the equator, and much less so where we live. In fact, the problems will be largely offset by the benefits. Especially if we don't destroy our economy first in futile pursuit of 'net zero' and instead use that money to forecast likely negative impacts and then take remediation efforts in advance (ie, flood control, stronger building codes, etc).

The Ontario NDP government not only froze the number of new medical/nursing school seats but actually paid universities to train fewer doctors. And nobody changed that until a couple of years ago, despite how much the population grew and aged. Every government kicked it down the street in hopes it would be someone else's problem. That certainly worked out for the Ontario Liberals, who did nothing for fifteen years as the healthcare system deteriorated.

From a few articles I've read, the wealthiest people actually have a much higher birthrate than the middle classes. I'm not saying they're all Elon Musk or Donald Trump, but wealthy men rarely lack for females willing to have babies with them.

As compared to what? Trudeau famously never even met with his cabinet ministers. From what we've seen of Carney, he's similar, with no desire for input from the plebes in his caucus and all power vested in the PMO. The only difference between them was that Trudeau was an extrovert while Carney seems to have all the personality of a dead fish.

There is equality, and then there is equity. What the government now practices is equity. That's why we see ads for various public sector jobs that pretty much say only those from certain groups can apply. Within the federal public service, there are quotas for hiring and promoting various minority groups, and executive bonuses are tied to satisfying those quotas.

Does anyone know anywhere in the world where Muslims live as peaceful neighbours without suspicion, threats of violence, or demands for sharia law? Does anyone know of a time in the last 1400 years when Muslims have not been attacking, murdering, raping, and trying to loot from or conquer Christians?

Not sure how much of this is true anymore. Without training, continuous training, you don't have a better-trained military. It takes money to train. And the military has been starved of funds for a decade. I doubt they've been doing much training. Not to mention they don't have the equipment to train with unless they can borrow vehicles and gear from other units.

You know what other Conservative amendment was defeated on another bill? One that would make people arrested for crimes ineligible to apply for refugee status. The Liberals voted that down. I have always rooted for the underdog. Not with this. The Palestinians don't deserve a homeland, and nobody in the region except Iran wants them to have one. A truly independent Palestine would be a powderkeg and would inevitably lead to a massive war with Israel. The Irish wanted freedom. That is not what Palestinians want. The Palestinians want an Islamic state under Sharia law, and to destroy Israel. Mothers openly brag about their little boys growing up to be martyrs. Even in the West Bank, they were paying pensions to the families of terrorists who were killed or locked up by Israel. They celebrate every bloody terrorist attack, even though almost all are on civilians. Terrorists who are released from prison after periodic hostage negotiations are celebrated as heroes. And don't even try to compare these animals to the IRA. The IRA sought to minimize or avoid civilian casualties. The Palestinian terrorist groups seek to maximize them. They knew about the peace festival and timed their Oct 7 attack because there would be so many young Israelis nearby and vulnerable. They also knew they were a bunch of peaceniks. They couldn't care less. They indulged in an orgy of slaughter, torture, rape, and murder. They even murdered the Thai and Filipino workers. There is a picture of a grinning terrorist posing, grinning, with a terrified Filipino nanny next to a crib. Then they killed her and killed the baby. An independent Palestine would try to do the same thing again, only on a larger scale. It would immediately begin to import huge quantities of weapons and soldiers from Iran in preparation for an all-out war of annihilation. The death count in such a conflict would make Gaza seem like a tea party.

Our economy has been 'growing' for the last ten years. Do you feel richer? Is life better? Has Canada's economy improved?

Brian Mulroney increased immigration from about 85k to 225k. Media reports at the time said this was primarily done to help the PC party make inroads into ethnic communities and gain more votes there. Since that time, the real purpose of immigration is to help the party in power get votes from ethnic communities whose primary reason for voting is to ensure more of 'their' people come here. Witness very conservative communities like Muslims voting almost entirely for parties that espouse beliefs regarding women and sexual minorities that Muslims utterly reject and despise. Anyone with any familiarity with ethnic votes knows that ethnic communities vote for their own. Always. Regardless of what party that person is running for. Any riding with a strong minority of Sikhs/Tamils/Hindus/Chinese/Muslims/etc. generally elects one of those because every member of that community turns out to vote for them. Given voter turnout is usually fairly low that gives them disproportional influence. If the voter turnout is 50% and 20% of the riding is Muslim they already have 40% of the vote locked in, and that's often enough to win all on its own. That's why in a riding with a lot of minorities, even though it has a white majority, you'll generally see minorities as candidates for all parties. Long-serving White politicians can survive only if they pander to them. Or as Melanie Joly said to Thomas Mulcair when discussing her position regarding Israel and Gaza, "Thomas, you seen the demographics in my riding?" Note that Muslims are less than 10% in her riding, but that's enough to swing votes if they all vote as a bloc. And they do.
