How nice. But you left out the part that says they have to abide by the Employment equity act, The federal government must abide by the Employment Equity Act (EEA) for its own public service, as well as for other federally regulated employers, requiring them to eliminate barriers and ensure representation for women, Indigenous peoples, people with disabilities, and racialized groups in the workplace, with specific obligations for public administration set out in the Act itself. Who Must Comply? Federal Public Administration: The Treasury Board and Public Service Commission are responsible for implementing the Act for federal employees. Federally Regulated Employers: Private-sector companies with 100 or more employees in federally regulated industries (like banking, telecommunications, transport) must also follow the EEA. Key Obligations Under the Act: Identify & Correct Disadvantage: Employers must find and fix barriers that disadvantage the four designated groups. Proportional Representation: Aim to have these groups represented in their workforce in numbers similar to their representation in the Canadian labour market. Workplace Equity Plans: Develop and implement plans to achieve these goals. What about a culture that not only says it is the only acceptable one but that all other cultures must submit to it and be absorbed by it? Through force, if necessary. -

So then Islam is not good. Go ahead. Say it. You had no difficulty saying white supremacy and MAGA were no good (which I largely agree with). Now tell me Islam is no good. -

For decades, the Nordic countries with their 'mono-ethnic' culture were synonymous with safe, secure, prosperous, well-run societies that were the most egalitarian and forward-thinking on Earth. Excellent economies combined with excellent social welfare programs and enormous freedoms. Then they decided, "Hey, a little diversity is a good thing!" Now there are daily hand grenade battles in Sweden, of all places, which is now the rape capital of the world. There's violence and shootings between drug gangs out in the streets, and riots and arsons by the newcomers who, for the most part, don't work and live on welfare. Yay diversity? If your first loyalty is to another nation, and another people, how can you be Canadians like the rest of us? -

Yes. But that political correctness is coming from the Left, and so it afflicted the left-wing political parties much more than the right-wing ones. And it STILL comes from America. It comes from their elite universities, filters down into their society, into their entertainment mediums, into their arts groups, and then gets broadcast to the world through the exports of the powerful American culture machine. The world would be a better place today if places like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Berkeley had been torn down fifty years ago. Their prestige lent these absurdist ideas weight they should not have had -

The white ones, maybe. Having someone inside clues you in to what you need to know to pass the tests. I saw this myself when I worked for the government. We'd hire temps and if we liked them, guide them into how to apply and pass the exams. But let's face facts. If you're a Chinese woman the system will bend over backward to get you in as a police officer. They'll give you every possible assistance to pass those tests. In Ottawa, we even had the chief overrule his screening officer and hiring Somalis despite them having been ruled totally unsuitable due to past behaviour. A number of them then wound up getting into serious trouble. Friend of mine is encountering it now in the federal government. Senior Indian EX brought in from outside last year with no previous experience in the federal public service, showing open preference for Indians and acting like a haughty, disdainful, arrogant b!tch to everyone else. Age never works for you in hiring. Experience does, though. Almost certainly. And the number three is a Sikh. The Conservatives are no strangers to courting immigrant groups, and have never shown the courage to challenge either diversity or multiculturalism. The first time they EVER dared to even call for lower immigration was just last year. You haven't mentioned equality as something desirable. You want equity. Which is to equality what "People's Democratic Republic" is to Democracies. -

It's an entirely American thing because, as I said, all the policy ideas Canada's progressives foist upon us are American ideas. They avidly watch what their American brethren do, like little girls watching how their big sisters dress, then eagerly don the same dresses, despite them being too large, and splash makeup all over their faces and act like they're sophisticates. -

I didn't deny global warming. I denied your ridiculous solution of making it impossible for industry to operate in the West, and thus driving it offshore to places like China, with their coal plants. All that is doing is robbingCanada of jobs and wealth while enriching China. And it actually results in MORE CO2 than if they'd stayed where they were. -

The past is past. Nothing you do today affects it in any way. The whole 'correcting racism of the past' is an American thing. All of you people on the Left import your social views wholesale from the Americans, don't even try to alter them to fit Canada's different circumstances, and then act like anyone who opposes you are evil - just like your American friends. The idea we should make amends for past 'racism' towards visible minorities who made up approximately .05% of the population for most of Canada's existence is breathtakingly dumb. According to the 2016 census (the numbers will be MUCH higher now) 80.1% of visible minorities are immigrants. Okay? No history here. The only thing our society did to them was allow them to come here. Almost all arrived post 1970s, and the remainder are their children. Only 1.6% of visible minorities have any history in Canada going back beyond that. That's a Marxist/Communist doctrine of equality of outcome that ignores equality of opportunity, which is what anyone sane strives for. It also utterly ignores the different career choices made by people of different cultures/genders because while the Left endlessly professes respect for these groups, it privately dismisses them entirely as 'just like us', and believes everyone wants exactly the same things in exactly the same amounts regardless of culture, gender or orientation. It's not WACISM because Chinese immigrant women don't want to be cops, you blithering imbecile! It's human choices! But then, the Left despises human behaviour. It wants to compress everyone down into a single mold and hates that people can make personal choices based on culture and human behaviour. It doesn't believe they should be allowed ANY choices. It feels the state should choose everything for them. People like you invent terms like 'privilege' to pretend to yourself that your actions aren't exactly what you claim to despise in others. Lying to yourself is the principal requirement of being a leftist. -

There was a lot of economic policy, principally focused on freeing up our natural resources industry - which is what brings money into the country - from the choking grip of legislation and regulations designed to destroy it. The same focus would reduce regulations on business and industry throughout the country, allowing them to thrive in an atmosphere that is not deliberately anti-business. That includes pipelines so we can sell oil at world prices in order to afford all those social welfare programs you're so fond of. Not to mention booting out all the foreign workers, not allowing foreign students to work much, heavily cutting refugee intake, and cutting immigration so people have jobs and companies have to actually train young workers. The Left's idea of economic policy usually involves higher taxes so it can be distributed to favored companies and industries. Which is almost always counterproductive. Witness the billions given to battery makers to bring us essentially zero return. Nobody gives a damn about climate policy anymore but the crazies of the fringe left. And they wouldn't vote Conservative to save their lives. -

The obsession the Left has with 'solving' climate change is one of the dumbest and most damaging cult-like beliefs the West has ever embraced. Anyone who has more than Grade Eight math can tell it's a ridiculously expensive exercise in tilting at windmills, heavily damages our economy, and thus results in increasing poverty, increasing deficits, poorer healthcare, and other social outcomes, and will accomplish absolutely NOTHING that you claim to want. -

That's just aid. The climate stuff is even bigger. We send money to Nigeria, which has massive oil income that mostly winds up in the pockets of its corrupt leaders.

The defence procurement budget has always been about regional economic diversification and the graft that directs work to government-friendly companies. The actual performance and value of the item in question, and the needs of the military have always been secondary or even tertiary to that.

And why is the electorate so uninformed? My impression is they are less informed now than they were a hundred years ago. And that schools are considerably less informative, with easier tests, with less knowledge, with more coddling, and that the knowledge imparted tends to be heavily slanted towards fashionable leftist beliefs, most of which are implacably hostile to Western society and Capitalism.

https://archive.is/s43ZZ Despite the Public Safety Minister from Sri Lanka admitting in a recorded telephone call that the gun buyback was a complete waste of time and would do nothing for public safety, the government has announced, after a disaster of a pilot project, that the project worked wonderfully and they'll spend another billion dollars to roll it out nationwide. "Yes, it's a lot of money," the minister said, "But well worth it since Quebecers and low-information urban voters seem to think it shows us fighting against gun crime (laughter). Anyway, it's not our money. It's the taxpayers', so why not use it?"

Canada is going to buy new helicopters. It will take about 2-3 years to deliver them once ordered. We're planning on having them all in place in about 12 years. Consider that for a moment. We will spend about 8-9 years on the PROCESS before ordering them. Boy, Carney's new procurement system is lightning fast! Government moving faster than we've eer seen it! https://ottawacitizen.com/public-service/defence-watch/new-canadian-forces-helicopters

I don't think you know many American conservatives. You know the populists in the Republican party, but they are not conservative.

Was predicted decades ago with incredible accuracy. “Members of labour unions and unorganized unskilled workers will sooner or later realize that their government is not even trying to prevent wages from sinking and to prevent jobs from being exported,” the late Mr. Rorty wrote in Achieving Our Country, a book based on lectures he’d given at Harvard in 1997. “Around the same time, they will realize that suburban white-collar workers – themselves desperately afraid of being downsized – are not going to let themselves be taxed to provide social benefits for anyone else. “At that point, something will crack. The non-suburban electorate will decide that the system has failed and start looking around for a strongman to vote for – someone willing to assure them that, once he is elected, the smug bureaucrats, tricky lawyers, overpaid bond salesmen and postmodernist professors will no longer be calling the shots.” Mr. Rorty imagined the gains made by Black and brown Americans would be wiped out. “Jocular contempt” for women would come back in fashion. “All the resentment which badly educated Americans feel about having their manners dictated to them by college graduates will find an outlet. He [this strongman] will be a disaster for the country and the world. People will wonder why there is so little resistance to his inevitable rise.” https://archive.is/7jZ6U

Another guy I follow on X is very insightful. Used to be a Muslim. Came west from Egypt, I believe. Dan Burmawi When a society submits to the sensitivities of sick people and elevates them to the norm, everyone else is forced to walk through landmines to avoid offending the stupid. This culture has made the West incapable of saying simple, obvious things: that not all cultures are equal, that not all religions are compatible with liberal democracy, that not all value systems can coexist, that some ideas are superior. When a civilization abandons truth, inferior ideologies rush in, ideologies that have no problem judging, enforcing, dominating, and demanding submission. While the West is busy debating tone and intent, others are asserting authority and power without hesitation. This is how civilizational suicide happens. A society that can’t speak honestly about the superiority of its culture can't integrate newcomers. A society that can’t criticize foreign belief systems can’t defend its values. A society that prioritizes not offending over being correct can’t survive. Weak cultures do not remain free. They get reshaped by those who are willing to say what they refuse to say, believe what they refuse to believe, and enforce what they refuse to defend.

We're not investing in industrial equipment and machinery. Why not? Because we outsourced our factories and industry to China, India, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and the US.

AI Overview Canada's abortion rate is higher than that of the Nordic countries overall. However, specific rates can vary by year and individual country. Comparison of Abortion Rates Data from 2023/2024 shows the following approximate abortion rates per 1,000 women of childbearing age: Canada: 17.28 Sweden: 21.92 (Higher than Canada) Denmark: 16.33 (Lower than Canada) Iceland: 14.94 (Lower than Canada) Norway: 14.68 (Lower than Canada) For all Nordic countries collectively in 2023, the rate was 12.1 abortions per 1,000 women, which is lower than Canada's rate. -

The US is not a good comparison. Canada's abortion rate is higher than any of the Nordic countries. What the policies and verbiage of the Left is are doing (we will hire and promote absolutely everyone and anyone ahead of straight white males) is producing an increasingly resentful group that is beginning to see itself AS a group for political purposes, where it never really did before. It's causing them to flock to people like Trump, to the Reform party in the UK, to the AFD in Germany, and the National Front in France. The more you lump people in together, cast aspersions on their character, and blame them for all society's ills, the more likely you are to get something you really don't want to see.
