  1. That's true. It could and likely will appreciate. My one son and i have a small portfolio going of crypto. It keeps rising. I'm still not sold on the whole concept but hey...it keeps rising...for now.
  2. Some good posts here. Good points of view. Some of you ain'-a-gonna like mine. I have been lucky I suppose. I haven't noticed stagnant wages. I started my career at a modest wage, and make 3 times that today...roughly. I also did something years ago that scared the livin' hell outta me, but my wife insisted was an imperative. I bought a couple "investment homes". They've appreciated in value a lot over the years. My point is...you can complain and...nobody doubts the truth of much of the complaints. It is what it is. I've always been a believer of the adage, 'Ya gits wut ya pays fer'. Time and circumstances change from generation to generation. My Mom and Dad bought their first home in Calgary for $25,000. Their mortgage was low and Dad had a good career. They did fine and we grew up wanting for nothing important. I realized that if I didn't do something about it, my kids would not be able to afford a home for their families. I was going to have to help them. I needed to work my ass off so I could gain more income and invest in properties that I can hand the kids...at a modest retirement fee of course. 'Ya gits wut ya pays fer' people. You can spend time and effort complaining...or you can figure a new way to build the life you want because... Time and circumstances change from generation to generation.
  3. OK first of all...the hospitals are not in any danger...other than self-inflicted wounds by the imposition of these silly vax mandates. Stupid them. Second..."Covid-savvy citizens"??? What a strange yet oddly illuminating statement. Both seriously misguided and condescending at the same time. Well done lad.
  4. An interesting reply...from such a superior intellect... who misuses the rather simplistic quote function. Wouldn't you say?
  5. Lets start with this: https://www.usnews.com/news/national-news/articles/2021-08-24/supreme-court-rules-biden-administration-must-comply-with-order-to-restart-trump-era-remain-in-mexico-policy
  6. Cool. So I have a natural capability to identify threats...and respond accordingly...superior to that of many Liberal minds. Ya I can dig that.
  7. I love this country. Even the winters. I think both the Quebecois and the Natives need to have their cultures and languages protected. Its part of what makes Canada...Canada. Hell I even like the Newfies... What I don't like is wasteful stupidity and I certainly can't abide any influence that dilutes Canadiana and national unity in any way. Thus I am forced to admit that how Canada has bent over backwards for both Quebec and the Native clans, has been both a tad embarrassing and way too expensive. But on the topic of abuse in foster homes, I would grant a one-time financial settlement, or psychological treatment should the case warrant it, or even both. But I can't accept hanging that burden of taxpayers indefinitely.
  8. Yessiree Bob...Good ol' Climate Change. Gotta love it for getting people wound like tops. My view is perhaps...a little fatalist in nature. Sudbury Ontario, not too many decades ago, was a bit grey looking. They discovered the lack of flora was a result of the gasses being dumped on them by the nickle smelting they were doing. But that stack was so high they they could see the smoke dissipate and blow away. A common mistake. Man does indeed have an affect on the ecology of this planet. We've seen the problem...we've alleviated many of the identified problems...and we will continue to alleviate the remaining problems. Are we affecting the global temperature? Sure...perfectly reasonable. Are we all gonna die from this imposition? Highly doubtful. Should we address the issue? Of course. That's what we do. We find an issue and we then set to resolving it. I once worked for a multi-national that installed nuclear and coal burning power generation complexes. I worked building the infrastructure for the IT systems. Now...I know that the term "clean coal" is an oxymoron...but I happen to know about some of the "clean" technology that industry uses now. The precipitator and scrubbing tech is...pretty bloody good. Knowing this, is our current situation, when weighed against our natural inclination for innovation and...'fixing things'...enough to justify the immediate trashing of the fossil fuel industry, in the Western World only, at the expense of massive economic burden...once again at the Western World's expense? And my answer is a resounding 'NO SIR!' (or Ma'm or whatever...) Let man do what man does best...find a problem...fix a problem.
  9. Dr. Robert Malone. Little hard to argue with the creator of the tech...ain' it... One of the most glaring traits of the modern Liberal mind, is that it tends to be extremely prone to panic. It has to be unhealthy to live in constant fear and anguish. But...whatever... Now Climate Change? Excuse the 'Newbie' here. I hadn't noticed those debates yet? Personally, I think we'd be wildly stupid to deny any human impact on the atmosphere...but just as wildly stupid is to want to destroy the existing fossil fuel and power generation industries, before we have a suitable replacement. Which we simply do not...yet.
  10. Interesting. In another thread we discovered that...although you claim to be a Conservative...who listens to CBC radio all the time no less...that your interest in stats is...rather as selective as the CBC's. Go figure. Libbies howl "People could diiieee!" Constantly. Yet when these deaths are caused by the wholy vax...that needs to be minimized and misdirected. People...faux conservatives and panic driven nonses are dangerous. Identify them...challenge them... And watch them immediately resort to name-calling and assorted accusations...but drop fact-based discussions completely.
  11. You do that. And I'll take this misdirection of yours as a sideways admission that your wrong and can't bring yourself to admit it.
  12. OMG! I am so sorry. I mistook you for a person of reason and clear thought. But your either a shill, or a blank slate. My deepest apologies Sir.
  13. I didn't ask who settled here. I asked who laid the foundations for this nation. Hint: BNA.
  14. I know the history. Answer the question.
  15. Well then...you must be an expert. I just took a look at both CTV and CBC. Both ran case numbers. Neither reported on deaths. I have no trust left for our media. They are indeed complicit in spreading undue fear. Tell me...while the media promotes jabs for kids under 12, have they told you the real death rate of that age group in Canada?
  16. On this I have only one thing to say: The first politician who includes shutting down our borders and implement real merit based immigration...gets my vote.
  17. I suspect on this...you are giving the press a pass...for some reason...
  18. I don't think so. Who controlled entry to the St. Lawrence?
  19. Oh? There are quite a number of treatments available. How often does the press tell you about them? Do you hear or read how many deaths Omicron has caused? Or do you have to go looking for that data? The press needs a good spanking for its willingness to propagate fear and selectively report only that which causes concern and fear.
  20. Hmmm...so when the press becomes a political tool...your ok with that?
  21. Founding? Did France lay the foundations for Canada? Or did the Brits?
  22. 1. Now you're being silly. 2. Support of the press is a conservative trait? Have you been paying attention these last 6 or 7 years?
  23. It is though. The very acceptance of Quebec's nonsense is an expression of multiculturalism...albeit rather one-sided. Yet a perfect example of how it detracts from national unity.
