  1. Sections 14 and 241b of the Criminal Code. I wrote this a few posts ago. Read the ruling.
  2. This is what they did. They ruled that a law on the books violated the Charter.
  3. The law was that it was illegal to assist in someone’s suicide. So, yes there was a law. The Supreme Court struck down parts of the Criminal Code. Section 241 (b) and s. 14 of the Criminal Code unjustifiably infringe s. 7 of the Charter and are of no force or effect to the extent that they prohibit physician-assisted death for a competent adult person who (1) clearly consents to the termination of life and (2) has a grievous and irremediable medical condition (including an illness, disease or disability) that causes enduring suffering that is intolerable to the individual in the circumstances of his or her condition. https://decisions.scc-csc.ca/scc-csc/scc-csc/en/item/14637/index.do
  4. Not “apparently”…. It did do this. Have you read the actual ruling? Because you left out an important word of Section 7 of the Charter that applies to this ruling more so than “life”. Section 7 isn’t just the “right to life”. Read the rest of it.
  5. Iran is in control of the Strait of Hormuz. The regime is still in charge. USA can’t even open the straits without Iran’s help. That’s a huge strategic defeat for USA. https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/german-war-expert-iran-ceasefire-093733573.html
  6. She won’t be anywhere near cabinet. She opposed the legalization of marijuana, supported Trump’s bat$hit crazy cures for COVID, and is a social conservative religious loony.
  7. This is one MP that the Libs should have said no to. She’s a nut. Probably more of a liability than an asset
  8. The straits were open before Trump started the war. 12 American soldiers have died so far so that the world can ship oil through the Strait of Hormuz when a few weeks ago oil was flowing through there just fine. You people are the weirdest people on the planet.
  9. He TACO’ed again. Instead of destroying Iran, he stopped bombing them. Progress, I guess.
  10. Are people so stupid that they would give credit for lowering gas prices to the person responsible for increasing them in the first place? (I concede that the conservatives on this forum may be the exception in that regard)
  11. No ideas if this court challenge will be successful, but on its face, it makes sense that a legal referendum should be forced to comply with the Constitutional. How could a province of Canada ask a question that doesn’t follow the constitution and laws of Canada? The First Nation is asking a court to reinstate the rule that a citizen-initiative petition must follow the constitution – and to halt the current drive for signatures. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/apr/07/first-nation-decries-alberta-separatist-push-canada
  12. So you’re saying America should have a say on the cars Canada builds while they also try and stop Canada from making American brand cars? Why do you hate Canada with such a passion?
  13. Looks like Americans may need to pretend to be Canadian to get a meal in Brazil. https://www1.folha.uol.com.br/internacional/en/world/2026/04/rio-de-janeiro-bar-fined-for-sign-barring-entry-to-americans-and-israelis.shtml#:~:text=A bar in Lapa%2C in,viral during the Easter holiday.
  14. Good to see you still have faith in your great orange saviour.
  15. If the greater being isn’t there, what good is it? That’s really poor evidence for a greater being. Can’t there be hope without a religious prayer to something that may or may not be there anyway?
  16. If you pray for something with no chance of it happening, why pray? And if it’s only about keeping hope, can’t that be done without praying or religious dogma?
  17. I wonder how @CITIZEN_2015 thinks Trump killing an entire civilization is going to free the Iranian people?
  18. Sure. Are all faiths as likely to produce results from prayer?
  19. Hope is not a synonym for prayer.
  20. A comforting lie? Or is someone listening who may intercede on one’s behalf when one begs for help?
  21. Over 50% of Canada lives within 50km along the proposed high-speed rail corridor. Anyone who opposes it based on this not benefiting other parts of Canada needs to look at a map. You build things where the people live, not in Buttf#ck, SK, pop. 1500.
  22. How does Iran shoot down an F-15 when their air defences have been “100% destroyed”?

    That 0% seems pretty effective!

Who claimed that any/all possible air defenses were destroyed?

The F-15 was reportedly shot down with some type of likely Chinese-made surface-to-air missile system that was carried by a person.

The F-15 had to have been flying too low for it to be effective.

This doesn't discount the wholesale systemic destruction of all of Iran's air defense systems to the point that both US and Israel were flying bombing missions at will across the country without much fear of being shot down.
