Listen: We took their ceremonial place they used for 10,000 years, made it a park and you're outraged we "let" them use it for a couple weeks so you can't roast marshmallows there. Like asides from being a totally selfish arsehole or compulsively belligerent what grounds do you base your outrage upon?

There ARE pipelines all over BC liar. Alberta can already triple oil exports through TMX. No one's opposing connecting to or expanding existing LNG pipes. We rejected Northern Gateway oil, get over it. BC is not obligated to risk the Inside Passage for zero benefit out of 'obligation to' or demands from Danielle Smith and the oil companies. So f^ck off with your BS claims that either you or I would gain anything and maybe demand that Danielle STFU and get to negotiating other routes. The people say, not the oil barons.

Big meanie! You'll force their brains to explode trying to come up with a reason that it's not what it is. Always had forest fires in these parts, but none so big there were evacutation alerts for almost a hundred years. There's been three alerts and one evacuation in the last 10.... the local ski hill is on it's last legs from years of low snowfall. Can't make money if ski season is less than a month! Not only that, "forest management" in N America is another bullshit term. It actually stands for forst economic management, how to extract the trees and resources for the maximum profit. Fire fighting doesn't make money for the forest owners regardless if they're private or govt owned forests.

What happened to the site for the last several days?
herbie replied to robosmith's topic in News and Announcements
Did you notice that when you clicked the notification bell it opened a page of notifications rather than a dropdown list? That and you couldn't type into the reply box? Sure seems like an update or option that wasn't ready for prime time. -
Good God how old are you anyway? When I voted at 18 it was 54 years ago! Think about it, you can drive a car at 16, make your own medical and most legal decisions, hardly any of them will vote and maybe it's long past the time we needed some new thinking in politics. An outright dismissal of the idea is sheer stubborness, not logical thought.

?? What right wing Canadians are saying that? Most Canadians are aware that in those tiny postage stamp countries you have to manage the forests or you won't have any. Here the forests manage YOU. Only a demented orange skinned old crook is dumb enough to think we have to send 40,000,000 people with rakes out to pick up the leaves and twigs every spring.

Letting them use their own historic lands for ceremonies for a couple weeks a year is just too damn much discrimination against white Christian (non Catholic) males to put up with. It's an outrage, I tell you! An outrage! Any consideration to someone else is discrimination against me. Me me me me me me me

Nuclear Power Makes A Come Back
herbie replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
And I'm sure you can find a fellow MAGAtt who lived beside 3 Mile Island who'll disagree with you. Dumb troll acting like the 'entire grid' must be torn down tomorrow morning. Build all the nukes you want, we'll even sell you so much Uranium you'll have to tariff that too. or recycle it out of old bombs.... -
There's too many people in Canada? You sound like a High School buddy who'd never been outside Vancouver so we kidnapped him and took him camping with us to Manning Park. Like seriously, you're saying that with a straight face? Never flown in a plane at night and looked out the window? Stood hitchhiking holding a gas can and waited hours for a car to come by?

Why is Canada such a mess in so many ways?
herbie replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Obvious someone's never worked for a major business. Decades ago a fellow worker asked me how I felt about starting my new job at the phone company. I told him I was so happy not to work at some Mickey Mouse family owned business anymore. Mickey Mouse? Welcome to Walt Disney Inc. buddy! -
Nuclear Power Makes A Come Back
herbie replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Nuclear is in now way renewable, but we have shitloads of fuel in Canada. So much so tha if Moe was like Danielle he's be squealing that Ottawa was strangling Sask. etc, etc. My point is that nuclear is not cheap and it is not fast and the promise of what could come in the future is being used to prevent and delay what can be done now. Want nuclear? Then may I suggest a real one, there's a hollowed mountain near Kitimat from the abandoned Kemano II project. Put it there in the hollowed mountain way far away from any population. Big deal if the worst case happened would be moosicorns and six toed Kermode bears. So I'm not anti-nuclear, just against not doing any alternatives that could be done cheaper and faster. -
Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.

Only if you exclude the sales price, the size of the vehicle, the intended use of the vehicle etc to determine what is 'good'. Their only strike against them in my book as coming off owning a Saturn Vue, they're underpowered for my liking and bigger than I need. As I've mentioned, where I live and my lifestyle the Outlander gas engine would only kick in once a week. So the consumption of it is not a major deal. Even CdnFox posted the specs showing it's value. And you can regain that charge from a wall plug while you're sleeping. Just came back from 2 more dealers in Prince George BC that so not even have a hybrid ^ two more shitty excuses as to why. Biggest selling segment in the auto market and almost none of the dealers even have one on the lot. All retailers "Beyond Hope" have to learn 'we can order it for you' is good only for an instant "f*ck off then" from customers. It's 2025 we can all "order it" online, delivered to our f*cking door for far less than you charge. And it's been that way over a decade. -

Canada's Concentration of Power: Check your money
herbie replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The main problem seems to be people thinking they should apply to everyone. They actually do, but there not there for people who work for someone else. They're their mainly to promote self employment and let you hire other people. -
