My point entirely. Don't care if they're swimming in p!ss, only that it will cost something to clean it up. And at this point in time nuclear is more expensive and takes longer to implement. Which doesn't mean we abandon that option. But to compare the cost of Quebec's Hydro Project or BC's SiteC? WTF do you think nukes cost? How many small reactors would you need to compare to the output of either project? And the forum trolls habit of claiming I posted the exact opposite of what I did and that if I suggest A might be better than B then I'm opposing B entirely merely shows the childlike lack of communication and argumentative skills possessed by many here. We'd be even stupider not to build them as 90% of the cars we build in Canada are exported and EVs are the growth market. If you think about the total number of EV cars built today and of charging them all in Canada today, or the number of EVs there might be used tomorrow and the infrastructure today, you could justify your claim. You can't if you take the number of EV cars in use here today and the infrastructure today, nor can you predict tomorrow's sales and tomorrow's power. You want to talk about waste, then point the finger where it belongs at the makers. Blackmailing everyone. Give us subsidies, weaken your labour laws, hand out grants, give us tax holidays, free land, fork out EV incentives so we can just hike the prices and gobble them up too - or we'll build the factory elsewhere.

I'm not making generalized observations about 'conservatives', just the extreme right who seem to think they are the conservatives. Yeah you can claim the "right" along with Pinochet, Franco and Mussolini. Most conservatives don't believe in banning abortion, insisting spreading hate is free speech, re-criminalizing drugs and homosexuals and insisting that punishment is the only response to abnormal behaviours and whatever punishment there is already is not enough. Or understand tolerating someone different is just too f***ing woke for them to do. -
It can't yet it has and does? And nuclear is still the most expensive. Less expensive than it was, only because they're considering smaller plants. And you think anyone will stop whining about paying the carbon tax if they dedicated every penny to building nukes? Not a chance in hell, they're opposed to doing something about greenhouse gases unless someone else pays. That's obvious in this thread.

I said no such thing. I said nuclear is more expensive, it always has been because of long timelines and massive safety precautions. One of the same arguments used against other green options until that situation reversed in the last few years. We can use those now, whereas 10-20 years from now to get nukes online. Do it faster and cheaper and isn't that the whole root of the proclem - no one likes to have to spend money? Nukes are going to have to be considered for long term solutions though. And banning stupid wastes of energy like bitcoin mining.

So I point out the OBVIOUS that much of the so-called right thinks everything they disagree with must be left and the chorus chimes in that because I'm not posting anti-gay hate I must therefore be a leftist. Proving exactly what I claimed. And so f**king stunned they gloat as if they 'won' an argument. Continually brainwashed to believe wokeness, sexual orientation and environmental awareness are the political issues exclusively abhorred by all conservatives. Just dimly aware enough not to post the n word or mention the word queer but spew terms like "know their place" and "Destroying traditional white Christian culture" as often as they can. -
Yes! Take pride in being the average, indistinguishable, normal, the 'control' statistic. The plain wiener on a bun, the burger without the DeLuxe, the medium rare steak, the 'Chinese and American Food' restaurant. The Turkey a la King dinner. Winner of Participant Awards, made the 2rd round in the Spelling Bee, Mr. 'C' average. Reminds me of the old "Mr Average NHL" stat back in the days that made players cringe if they should win it...

Excuse him, he's a Yank. Their conservatism was always far more polarized and militaristic. Even more so today. Diefenbaker, Stanfield, Joe Clark and Mulroney were communists, Harper barely tolerable to what the 'conservative' Internet mouthpieces are today. Hell they even drew votes from people like me.

Might have something to do with your idea that anything that disagrees with what you want is "left". Something the so-called 'conservative' movement is incapable of recognizing. Along with the incessant hyberbole like nudity = "wagging their dicks at children". -
Ok good response. But all those suggestions do nothing whatsoever towards reducing CO2. ^other than nuclear power generation, which is still more expensive than other green alternatives. And you're talking to someone from BC that doesn't have any fossil fuel generation. What about geothermal? There's countries making extensive use and Canada's barely dabbled at it.

That's why I give it to the repairman and not the company they work for. CRA can send their goon squad to hunt it down and collect.

Don't know where you got your video, but waving your dick in public is a criminal offence regardless of your sexual orientation. I never saw or heard about any such incident, nor did anyone else mention it. If it even did happen, you choose to mention it as a reflection on all gays. So you DO believe that they're forcing themselves upon us. Then join the reprogrammed by the extreme right crowd. And if you're truly sick of hearing about tell your cohorts to stop posting 10-12 threads a day about trannies as if it's an issue relevant to politics. -

Was I even talking to you? You joining the "gays are lewd, perverted, deviant groomers forcing themselves upon us" chorus too? -

Came along with the rise in bullying and ass holiness as 'positive' character attributes. Pushing outdated and obscene ideals onto a minority is perfection, but them even asking to be respected is pushing their ideals on 'us'. A-hole thinking, probably from sniffing leaded gas fumes your whole life. -
Happening N of the border too. Just watched a newsclip last night how the eonomy grew 3.5% in one month, exports are booming, house prices are still rising, record levels of personal debt, so the Bank of Canada may consider raising interest rates again to cool spending down. Followed instantly by the Debbie Downer warning us the recession is just around the corner. But it was on MSM and they're so biased they didn't blame it all on Trudeau !

That is not the PMs job, nor what he actually does. That's the Party Whip. The Party itself 'tells' the PM what to do. The PM's job is to do that as best they can. You can get rid of the name, but the leader of the party that wins the most seats will still do the same job the same way so the idea is pointless. Still end up picking a cabinet, and relying on them for advice and direction. If you don't believe that, look at other Parliamentary democracies like the UK and Australia where the Party in Parliament removed a PM several times. It just hasn't happened here yet.
