The GOP is f*cking things up and claiming the Dems did it again. About the only thing the GOP can do well is lie.

Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.
herbie replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Lucky! Of all the dealers here, there's only 7 on the lots. 3 chevy Bolts and 4 Hummers. The Bolts are too small and the cheapest GMC Hummer is $186,000 so I guess they'll sit there forever unsold. There's a couple Blazer PHEVs listed and X'd out, as GM stopped sales over so many problems and Consumer Reports rating them the worst POS on the market. I was about to go to a City Council meet to ask why there's no charging station here yet but I noticed on the EV owners site there's two at the College here. No ads, no promotion, no mention of them anywhere. No one that lives here knew. And a Council claiming its promoting tourism. -

Blind Faith,eh? Like their days of : just repeat "Quality is Job One" often enough and they'll believe it. BTW dismissing the commentaboutf hundreds of millions of EV chargers isn't correct. There already are hundreds of millions of EV chargers. There's at least one on every single house in N America, the same one you plug your weed whacker, leaf blower. electric mower and block heater into. -
Our Census Form vs Their Ballot

And apple are different than oranges.... SURPRISE -
IOW you have the right to free speech, but universities shouldn't. Or all other people that don't agree with your views should lose theirs too? As for the claim of the thread title, that wasn't a professor that was an instructor. Who got her ass fired. After they reviewed it like you have to do according to Labour Laws. You just yell You're Fired on TV and TV isn't real which some people seem to forget.

In simpler terms lock them up and for longer you mean? Or did you have a more constructive solution?

Feds Delay MAID for Mental Health again

If you believe an omniscient being created you, you'd think that was exactly what they would've expected of us. Is that not the object of some religions? After all isn't that the essence of every sci-fi movie made is, the robot seeking to become more and more human. It's what we expect of our creations. -
The two Presidents with such high ethical standards. One sold drugs to fund terrorists to overthrow a democratically elected govt and conspired with Iran to keep hostages long enough for him to get the glory for their release. The new guy a rapist and self professed molester of women who's forcing his party to stall border law so he can run on the issue and get all the glory if he wins. Such honourable men. So altruistic. Your heroes.

Our Census Form vs Their Ballot
herbie replied to August1991's topic in Canada / United States Relations
You mean it is just like a census form then. Except it wants your opinions on issues not facts like how many people they need to plan schools and hospitals for. Yeah, i ran into plenty of people with that 'privacy bullshit doing a census. They want your info to "control you' maybe stick nanobots in your head, right? -
Could it be based on history? As in how every time a Liberal govt was tossed out for a Tory one, they did no better, or sometimes worse? Hence the saying "Tory times is tough times". 69c dollars, 18% interest, inflation, slowly ended with a GST, tax hikes, cuts to services we've never recovered from. Years of nothing but bleating about 'crime' while ignoring the start of the housing and homeless crises. At least we got started on Day Care, Dental and Pharmacare after only flapping gums for 40 years.

The many problems with Electric vehicles.
herbie replied to taxme's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The simple fact of solar power has sweet f*ck all to do with the discussion about problems with EVs. And completely skips over the fact you can store the power from solar. I'm answering to that one point only to avoid your usual gish gallop of nonsense. I'll also put out there that all these "problems" seem non-existent to Swedes, Danes, Finns and Norwedian who all live in a much colder climate than the USA. Could it be the upbringing of those leftist liberal socialist countries makes them more capable of adapting and using common sense than the obstructionist dogma is of right wingers? -
Feds Delay MAID for Mental Health again
herbie replied to Boges's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Sorry, the original headlines sucked me in too. Looked into this more last night and the discussion was on MAID for mental suffering - one example someone with terrible PTSD for years. As this is recognized as a mental illness, it was lumped in so the headlines could be more alarming. Mental anguish, not mental disability. I don't know what to think about that, could someone's addiction cause them so much anguish they'd consider MAID? I'm sure some people in that situation just took care of it themselves. -
THE DEMOCRAT PARTY – A DEMONIC CULT OF DEATH
herbie replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
So it's the demonic dems that want you to hate your neighbour, starve the poor, shoot the stranger and if they smite you on the cheek give them a double tap to the head. The lying, fraud rapist and his cabal of suck-holes are the Good Guys... -
CRA vs Revenu Quebec (vs Tax Alberta, or a CPP Alberta)
herbie replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Sorry to disagree, but I've filed corporate taxes and such on the CRA site as far back as 2010. It's just like most huge corporate or govt sites, a total abortion you need both the patience of a saint and the skills of a professional webmaster to navigate through. But you can still do what those people with only one T4 and find filing just oh so difficult, PAY someone else to do it. Even our pi$$y small town has only online stuff requiring seniors to have or get access a computer to use. I must file every year online for the senior's discount. You know, in case I somehow got younger since last year ! -
Feds Delay MAID for Mental Health again

In the end if they treated my wife's lungs and breathing which caused much pain and effort, her kidney's & liver would flare up and cause more pain. While I went home for a shower & change of clothes she asked the nurse to stop medicating and let her go. She passed 5 minutes before I got back. So if you want to stretch your vision of MAID then I could guess that a DNR/stop treatment request and the Dr or nurse complying could be called MAID. But that's something that has always been... -
Another computer tale: I just bought it from you! I sold the store and retired ten years ago. went along with "It worked fine yesterday". As if things don't eventually break. Why has no one mentioned the 3 biggest lies of all time? - of course I love you - the cheque's in the mail - I promise not to ---- in your mouth

Like Trump is entire campaign is 'the other guy is just bad'. Like Trump he has a single issue carbon taxvs.border fear. Like Trump he contests every solution from the opposition and asks you to trust him as he knows better. Unlike Trump he doesn't spout out his absurd half-baked solutions. Which is PP's biggest problem, he most likely doesn't even have any.

Feds Delay MAID for Mental Health again
herbie replied to Boges's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Allowing the mentally ill MAID is a ridiculous idea proposed by extremists. That some of you think it's an idea of the Liberals or the bogeyman 'left' merely shows your level of political ignorance. Just as your insisting even talking about it is unacceptable and proof they support it, along with claiming that tossing it to the 'round file' is merely postponing it. If it is legally accepted that the mentally ill are incapable of making rational right/wrong decisions, how can anyone say they can make life/death decisions? It will remain off the table. -

No shit, I was at the unveiling of the Mac at Apple in Vancouver and thought "how the hell are you supposed to even program this thing?" Bought an Amiga a few years later and waited a decade for Windoze to catch up. I remember showing a re-edited clip of Terminator at a computer club and when everyone else asked 'how can I do that on my 386' telling them 'you can't'. I'll also tell you that of the 30 odd vehicles I've owned in my life the 4 F150/250s were the ones almost as shitty as my 1980 Bronco. Popular does not mean the same as better. Everyone's eaten at McDonalds, right?
