Taylor Swift Derangement Syndrome
Aristides replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Everything is political now. You can't have a discussion on anything before someone eventually makes it political. Celebrities should be able to express themselves as they see fit like anyone else. -

Peabrain? Are you a self made billionaire? -
I have it and read it many years ago. A lot of things that were secret then have since been released.

Feds Delay MAID for Mental Health again

But you understand so you are capable of making those decisions for them. People who choose MAID aren’t suicidal, I suspect the great majority would choose life if it had any promise for them at all. -
Empire of the Deep, the rise and fall of British Navy by Ben Wilson is a good read. The rise of British sea power wasn’t at all linear. Like much of Britains military history it lurches from victories to neglect then coming from behind as new threats arose.

Yes, antibiotic resistant bacteria are becoming more common and if they win the battle we could be set back 100 years. BTW, flu is a virus which aren't treatable with antibiotics. -

Before antibiotics a cut finger could kill you. Our only defence against bacterial infections was the use of antiseptics to try and prevent them in the first place. Gangrene was common in wounds and the only way to fight it was amputation before it infected the whole body. -

Feeling is mutual. I won’t try to control your life or how it ends, show me the same courtesy. -

Like I said, there will be a conspiracy theory regardless of who wins. That’s the kind of lunacy US politics has sunk to. -

I respect your opinion but don’t have to agree with it. -

Who would you suggest as gate keepers or should there be any at all? On Edit. I’m not trying to be flippant, you raise a valid concern. Should those determining who is qualified for MAID come from the same group who are carrying out the assists and if not, who else is qualified? I don’t know. -

Who else is being dragged into it? No one is compelled to assist a death, that is a choice as well. This is an issue purely because of the capabilities and limitations of modern medicine, it has nothing to do with morality. Personally, I hope to just tip over one day or die in my sleep but know the chances of that are not very good. I may well be forced to make the same decision one day and don't know what it might be. I do know that I want it to be my decision and would extend you the same courtesy. -
