Cannucklehead replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in The Rest of the World
https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2019/12/09/world/asia/afghanistan-war-documents.amp.html That's what happens when you go to war for someone who then decides to go to war with someone else. I bet there are some americans still looking for those wmd's. -
But since its passage in the Punjab assembly, many clerics and religious leaders have denounced the new law as being in conflict with the Muslim holy book, the Quran, as well as Pakistan’s constitution. Not that I have love for any of the religions. https://www.usnews.com/news/religion/articles/2008/01/25/ten-biblical-teachings-women-love-to-hate

Canadians FEAR Trump...Big Time
Cannucklehead replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Canada / United States Relations
The Liberal government originally announced it would buy 18 used Australian F-18 jets to augment the Royal Canadian Air Force’s CF-18s until new aircraft can be purchased in the coming years. But it has added seven more used Australian F-18 aircraft to the deal. Those extra aircraft will be stripped down for parts or used for testing. Like I said, flying trash cans. But dont worry, our engineers will fix your mistakes and teach you to correct them, probably for just a small fee. So LOL ! -
Canadians FEAR Trump...Big Time

Only reason we had to "ask for permission" is because the aussie dont want anymore american made flying trash cans. Trump kept pushing for canada to spend more, so we extended the olive branch. But then along came boeing and trump: But last year Boeing complained to the U.S. Commerce Department that Canadian subsidies for Quebec-based Bombardier allowed it to sell its C-series civilian passenger aircraft in the U.S. at cut-rate prices. As a result, the Trump administration brought in a tariff of almost 300 per cent against the Bombardier aircraft sold in the U.S. In retaliation, Canada cancelled the deal to buy the Super Hornets. That project would have cost more than US$5 billion. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/nationalpost.com/news/politics/u-s-approves-canadas-purchase-of-used-australia-fighter-jets-deal-to-be-completed-by-end-of-year/amp -

Same thing happened to Kevin & Julia Garratt a couple of years ago after living in China some 30 odd years. My guess is the Michael's will be home sometime next year.

At the end of 2018, Canada’s exports of goods and services were running at 30.2% as large as GDP and amounted to $672 billion annualized. Sounds about right.
