  1. Not exactly they are the most reliant on the US navy patrolling the ocean and keep the maritime trade routes open. China benefitted the most in the last 40 years because of our protection and global engagement. They know that too by the way. That's what people don't understand about America and Americans. We aren't top dog because of choice, we are the undisputed super power because of Geography. We're a continental sized Island. The only Country in history that has ever had the ability to invade two continent simultaneously and win. That was no accident.
  2. That's when we got bit the second time. See Americans are very simple. We do what we do so we can be... left alone. We got bit twice when we left the world to its own devices with our heads buried in the sand. In regards to China, we know that they know they are going away, there won't be a Han chinese person by the end of this century, invading Taiwan so the CCP can write a narrative about national dissolution is something we figure they might try... if we didn't took steps to stop them. This is why we view China as a managed decline. Why you Cannucks and deadbeats Euro want to get in our way is a whole different level of irritation that will be dealt with.
  3. don't be so sure about that. We chose the time and place of our wars.
  4. Having said that, it's also not in the US interest to destroy China. I'm being serious. The American perspective is that China is a managed decline. Preferably without a hot war and inflation that comes with 30 trillion dollars of sunk capital investment going offline.
  5. Those islands are not friendly to the Chinese. China's neighbors hate them. The worse animosity America gets is from persnickety Canadians. Islands are a good places to... host pirates. Yes , now you see where the math leads. China is doomed. How fast we get to that point with or without a war remains to be seen.
  6. China has a geography advantage? Do me a favor and pull up the map. See the rings of island surrounding their coast? Yeah the US has bases and allies in all those nooks and cranny's. This wasn't our first rodeo in that theater. The Japs learned their lessons. The chinese hasn't fought a conventional war since Vietnam, they got their ass handed to them. And they have never fought a modern Naval battle . You know who fights every decade, in all types of enviroment? Yeah, Uncle Sam.
  7. All I'm saying is people who are betting on China is betting on the wrong horse for many reasons. Most of which is that they are export dependent. Meaning they're subject to Maritime disruptions by interested parties, of which the most powerful Navy is a part.
  8. Is this before Goldman Sachs accounted for the US Navy pirating Chinese merchant shipping and cutting off their cheap oil?
  9. America didn’t fight this war on our own. We have partners, some better than others. But you Canada, you’re on the naughty list.
  10. I never understood this sentiment. For demographic reason alone China is petering out. They are running out of workers! They are an export driven economy. There are no longer a consumption base to make China an economic powerhouse. Their demographic dividend came and went, there isn’t a supply of cheap peasant labor that justify the manufacturing model in China. Mexican labor is cheaper and more productive. The Chinese isn’t going to buy Canadian goods or services, or anyone else’s for that matter. The Chinese would need to export to every country just to maintain their current economy, and every country has put up trade barriers to China. The Chinese goal has and always was to hollow out the local competition. That’s what they did to Brazil and parts of American manufacturing.
  11. We need high end weapons for proxy wars? As in give Taiwan and Ukriane our best fighter jets and weapons!!!?????? How about no, Ukriane get our leftover from the 80s . Taiwan will get a boat load of cheap drones. Also wasting them isn’t the right word, sure there’s always a concern of running out of ammunition. But that’s not the right perspective, Americans value their service members lives more than pearl clutching like other cultures. Using those high end munition to avoid putting our service members in harms way is why we use them. @Army Guy
  12. Are we expecting to fight Russia and China in a conventional war soon? To defend deadbeat countries like Canada, who has nothing useful to contribute? If America fought China and Russia it wouldn’t be with the stuff we’re throwing at Iran okay, the world would be a nuclear furnace within the in the first 2 hours. No the war would be through proxy like Ukraine and Taiwan.
  13. Just about every part of Mississippi, cold and wet Mississippi, central Mississippi, I avoid the French speaking part of Mississippi, they refuse to speak English for some weird reason. Mississippi island was nice. Their garden was beautiful but the ferry line queue is a bit much during peak season.
  14. You mean Canada? Sure plenty of time. AI tells me Based on 2023-2024 data, Mississippi’s GDP per capita (approx. $50,000–$53,000 USD) is roughly comparable to Canada’s national average. While sometimes cited as poorer, Canada's economic output per person is often lower than even the lowest-ranking U.S. states, making its average economic footprint similar to Mississippi.
  15. Yes apparently this is preferable than cutting a deal with the Americans. No worries though, as the 24th province of China, you’ll be able to afford the finest random roadkill and trash veggies, prepared in the best oil pulled from the broadest sewers in Beijing!
  16. I believe that everything has its place. Like a tool. You’re not going to ever get rid of the need for petrol chemicals that are the feed stock in most manufacturing and chemical industries. While renewable are technically cheaper to operate since fuel is free, the upfront cost to produce a solar PV and wind farm are all up front. In a world with high borrowing costs it may not make sense from a project financing standpoint. a natural gas plant cost 1/3 up front build cost and the rest are fuel cost for the life of the plant. Maintenance is a wash between these option. The cheapest long term was and is nuclear but has the highest upfront construction cost. So what tool makes sense ?
  17. Has @robosmith told you about cow farts yet? I really want to call out this hypocritical environmental green push. If you want to save money because electric car are cheaper to operate and potentially manufacture then fine. But don't be dishonest.
  18. Oh trust me we know. The best way to handle ideots is to take advantage of their stupidity. Which is why, the longer and more stubborn you get, the cheaper it is to buy up your country for pennies on the dollar. It won't help, both side of the political isle support this protectionist approach to international trade. Want to access our market, become a state, else pay your entry fee like everyone else. So don't think we're doing it out of spite. We're doing what is good for you as well Canada. So take your medicine.
  19. Well I expect Cannucks to do what they do best, stubbornly refuse to do what the American ask, even if it was for their own good.
