  1. Thankfully they say they can develop vaccines for these new variants fairly easily. It just takes a few months and then time to deliver and vaccinate everyone. Canada needs to deliver surplus new vaccines that will work against the newest variants to southern African countries and get them vaccinated. Right now very few people are vaccinated in those countries. Only a few percent. It is not a big deal to them I guess. They are a threat to the rest of the world. So is Canada still planning to bring in a million immigrants from the third world over the next three years? I haven't heard much about that lately. Immigration during the pandemic should not take place.
  2. An expert on the news said it only takes a few months to upgrade to the new variant. It is feasible. Getting it out to billions of people is the problem. Of course we have the keyboard warriors who are superior experts.
  3. But you know better than the experts.
  4. Actually that is not what my Bible tells me. We can all know the truth now. It is just a matter of picking up the Bible and reading it. If you wait until death to know the truth, it will be too late. " 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. " Hebrews 9:27, 28 KJV "1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. {substance: or, ground, or, confidence} 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. " Hebrews 11:1-3 KJV Forget about the things of this world. This world and it's pleasures are fleeting, and will be gone before we know it. Think beyond that. Think about things eternal. Eternity is what matters. We have Abraham and many others in Scripture as an example to follow. "8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. " Hebrews 11:8-10 KJV So what is truth? The answer is God and his revelation to mankind. He has revealed his plan to us for eternity. It is up to us to accept it by faith. It is the Savior who gives eternal life to all whom come to him in simple faith. As for politicians and media, forget about them. Do not put your hope in the things of this world. We cannot change them. It is a hopeless cause to think we can build a better world or utopia on earth. It will never happen. So why even waste a lot of time and energy on it? (that is a truth I need to keep reminding myself) I often do spend too much time on politics when I should know I can't change anything. This world is a dying tragedy. The only hope is in Jesus Christ and his revelation to us. There will be many good folks in heaven, a place of eternal happiness. So do not let the chance pass.
  5. You know I was working on a reply and after a long time, I must have hit some key that I shouldn't have and it all disappeared. Have you ever had that happen? It is enormously frustrating. All the hard work gone in a flash. Anyway, I accept Cougar's complement that I can answer your question. If you will allow me, I will refer to the Westminster Confession of Faith Study Guide. Chapter 4 IV. Of Creation 1. It pleased God the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, for the manifestation of the glory of his eternal power, wisdom, and goodness, in the beginning, to create, or make of nothing, the world, and all things therein, whether visible or invisible, in the space of six days, and all very good. Therefore since God created everything including man, we come to the conclusion God did this for his own pleasure. It seems a reasonable explanation. The meaning of life must therefore fit into the purposes of God. The conclusion we come to is we are created to worship God who created us. As the confessions say, we are created to enjoy God forever and serve him. The Bible describes how we do that and what our destiny will be if we believe in Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. I now ask you a couple questions. What is truth? Where is truth found?
  6. When PM Trudeau was asked in Question Period today what his solution is to the high inflation of 4.7%, his answer was the government is spending more on things like $10 a day child care and more programs to make housing more affordable. Presently the government has created a debt for Canadians of approaching half a TRILLION dollars. This massive debt has to be the main reason that is driving prices up at an average of 4.7%. This will effect the great majority of Canadians negatively. So how can increased government spending by tens of billions of dollars, which will simply add to the existing bizarre debt, reduce inflation? It can't reduce inflation. Increasing the debt can only make inflation worse and negatively effect most Canadians. The PM just does not seem to really care about Canadian families. All he can say is he is moving forward on $10 a day child care. This massive increase in government spending certainly will do nothing to reduce inflation.
  7. You said "Look, it does not work as promised, it does not prevent infection and transmission " Right there before our eyes.
  8. The Marxist NDP like to cloak their ideology in care and compassion for the less privileged or those below the poverty line, whatever that is. They promise every kind of government aid such as pharma care, dental care, housing for all, mental care, etc. etc. Whatever demand there is somewhere, they promise to deliver it. The thing about all this that most people don't realize this is just a stepping stone to a Marxist dictatorship. In order to set up a system that provides cradle to grave care for every single person, at some point the state must take over private industry and private ownership must be taken over by government. That is the theory. But it has never worked in the world. Socialism (or Marxism if you wish) has been tried before but always failed because it is totally against human nature. It is impossible to control every single individual to make them do what the Marxist system wants. China has been trying this for decades ever since the Communist revolution in 1949. They had the Cultural Revolution and the Great Leap Forward around the 1960s and 70s. But all they achieved was starvation for millions of people and the revolution itself killed tens of millions. They eliminated anyone who looked like they might question anything about the revolution or new system. It required an ongoing cleansing from society of all those who believed in any kind of human rights or individual rights. This is the direction that many in our society are leaning without having a clue what it all means.
  9. False. You claim vaccine doesn't do anything which is false. Should anyone believe you or believe the thousands of disease experts around the world and the health authorities?
  10. The overwhelming majority of medical experts in the field say vaccination does make a difference. While it doesn't completely prevent one from catching the virus, it reduces the chances and reduces the chances of serious illness and hospitalization. It is morally wrong to say otherwise and try to downplay the importance of vaccination for everyone.
  11. The Bible answers that question as to what the personal cause is. The Bible makes it clear there is only one God. It also makes it clear that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that God is a triune God or trinity made of Father, Son and Holy Ghost. It also teaches and among Bible believers it is almost universally accepted that God is a personal God and that believers can know him through his Son. So the Bible teaches in Genesis that God created the universe and created man. This all means that there is a purpose for why God created man. Not believing in God leaves a big problem. The problem is it leaves a vacuum or no explanation of why we exist or why the universe exists. Without God behind it, then one must assume that everything is just a cosmic accident. That provides no explanation for why or how the universe came into existence or where it came from. The atheistic view also has no answer for the meaning of good and evil and accountability for the evil in the world. The Bible teaching of God and man answers the question of the meaning of life and why we are here. It also teaches us that mankind fell from a good relationship with God when Adam and Eve rebelled against God. As our first parents, when they rebelled, the relationship with God was broken and man became separated from God and all their descendants thus inherited a corrupt, fallen nature. So God in his mercy, sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to die on a cross and thereby atone for man's sins. He made Jesus the Savior for all those who believe in him and accept him as their Savior and believe he died and atoned for their sins. All of that answers the question of why God created the universe and man. God created it for his pleasure. Without God there really is no explanation for anything.
  12. The number of unvaccinated people hospitalized in BC is far greater than the number of vaccinated.
  13. Glad the government is going to bring in a law making harassment of health care workers a criminal offence. Long overdue.
  14. Nobody has the right to endanger the health and lives of other people around them, which is clearly what happens when unvaccinated people work with vaccinated people.
  15. From seeing your short comments that dismiss out of hand detailed explanations and articles, it seems you do not bother to read what is posted. Without reading and considering information, how are you able to make a rational judgment? You always come back with the same one-liner argument that I must provide proof of design. A simple principle of science and rationality is "In the beginning … what? Genesis 1:1 says “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”, but why think that’s true? First, nothing comes into being without a cause, a basic principle of science and rationality. Everything we see that started to be has some sort of cause. But we also know that the universe itself had a beginning. The laws of thermodynamics powerfully imply that the universe had a beginning. And an infinite regress of secondary causes can’t even exist, because it can be shown mathematically that this would lead to absurdities! But that means the universe itself had a cause. But what could cause the universe? The universe is all of space-time-matter reality, so the cause can’t be bound by those things. And it must be powerful to cause the universe! The simplest solution is an eternal, non-material, uncaused cause. But how to get a temporal effect from an eternal cause? That cause must have freely chosen to create, so it must be a personal cause. So the simplest cause for the universe is a single, powerful, personal, eternal, immaterial, uncaused cause—it sounds a lot like God!" "Why think God exists? Skeptics often demand that theists need to conclusively prove that God is there before either of us can believe He is there. But just because I may not be able to convince a skeptic that God exists doesn’t mean I cannot know God exists. God can reveal Himself to people in numerous ways, some of which don’t involve arguments." This article is a philosophical argument for why God exists. If you read it carefully and actually understand what it says, that might be useful to the debate. That doesn't mean you have to agree with everything or anything. But in order to have a useful discussion, one must at least have a certain degree of understanding of the other person's point of view. If all you can do is claim you must have proof of design or proof that a designer exists and don't understand the view of your opponent, you are losing the debate because the subject is far more complex and involved than that. You do not address the points in the information I gave you. In a formal debate, you would lose a lot of points because you don't address the arguments raised by your opponent. You are trying to boil it down to a simple phrase which is not how a complex universe or God works. Arguments for God - creation.com
  16. Yes and Trudeau was going to give 900 million dollars of taxpayer money to WE charities. The Fifth Estate on CBC last night raised a lot of questions about where donated money went. Fortunately the Liberals changed their mind when the opposition got involved and started asking a lot of questions in Parliament.
  17. Quote Natural selection is a logical process that can be observed. However, selection can only operate on the information already contained in genes—it does not produce new information.8 Actually, this is consistent with the Bible’s account of origins; God created distinct kinds of animals and plants, each to reproduce after its own kind. One can observe great variation in a kind, and see the results of natural selection. For instance, dingoes, wolves, and coyotes have developed over time as a result of natural selection operating on the information in the genes of the wolf/dog kind. But no new information was produced—these varieties have resulted from rearrangement, and sorting out, of the information in the original dog kind. One kind has never been observed to change into a totally different kind with new information that previously did not exist! Without a way to increase information, natural selection will not work as a mechanism for evolution. Evolutionists agree with this, but they believe that mutations somehow provide the new information for natural selection to act upon. Can mutations produce new information? Actually, it is now clear that the answer is no! Dr Lee Spetner, a highly qualified scientist who taught information and communication theory at Johns Hopkins University, makes this abundantly clear in his recent book: ‘In this chapter I’ll bring several examples of evolution, [i.e., instances alleged to be examples of evolution] particularly mutations, and show that information is not increased … But in all the reading I’ve done in the life-sciences literature, I’ve never found a mutation that added information.9 unquote Is there really a God? How would you answer? - creation.com This is relative because it says that natural selection can not produce new species. Different kinds of dogs for instance have developed over time by natural selection, but not different kinds of species. So creationists do believe in natural selection up to the point that different kinds have developed within a particular species. To develop a new species, new information is required. Natural selection apparently does not produce new information that would create a new species. The only way new information exists is by an intelligent designer who placed that information in a species to begin with. Evolution apparently does not create new information that is necessary to create a new species. Also it says mutations do not increase information and therefore do not create a new species either. This really makes the theory of evolution more doubtful. All this information is demonstrating is one of the problems with the theory of evolution. By a process of elimination, one must come to the conclusion that life did not evolve from one species to another, but must have been created by an intelligent designer. Genesis does say "And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good." Gen. 1:21 KJV "after their kind" may refer to species. "Mutations do not work as a mechanism to fuel the evolutionary process."
  18. I don't think so. " 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23 KJB "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 KJB
  19. So I am wrong about all the corruption and scandals of the Liberals and those who elected them?
  20. Trudeau has gotten away with many scandals and endless spending for everything under the sun because the liberal voters are too dumb to know what they are doing.
  21. Democracy has some positive sides and some negative sides. It is a fallible worldly system that can be exploited by crooked politicians and crooked people. Even if it is far from a perfect system, it is better than dictatorships, and better than Communist systems where the people have no freedom. We often see the down side of democracy in this country with the election of questionable people and the immoral laws and decisions they often make. We see the problems with the scandals such as the SNC JWR scandal, the WE charity scandal, the serious problems we have in foreign affairs with certain other countries. We see the problems with the vast waste of money, the madness of carbon taxation which accomplishes nothing. Speaking of the WE charity scandal involving the Trudeaus, did you see the Fifth Estate program last night about WE charity and how they use donated money in Kenya, Africa. They tried to silence Fifth Estate and others who spoke out. Go on the internet and watch that program. Yet Trudeau was planning to give them 900 millions dollars of taxpayer money to distribute for some cause.
  22. No, but I don't think a conservative party should compromise and become like liberals just to get elected. If Canadians want to elect corrupt immoral governments, that is their choice. They will have to live with the consequences.
  23. Democracy per se does not necessarily bring an honest good government as we see in Canada repeatedly. It's who is in government and what they believe that determines whether you have a good honest government or not. Many bad governments have been democratically elected. So it also depends on the kind of people electing them.
  24. Better to have a conservative opposition party that stands up for righteous principles and not just an echo chamber of the corrupt liberals and left.
  25. I doubt the majority of women are alienated by social conservatives. You have been sold a bill of goods by Trudeau and the left. I think most women are normal people and not into women's lib stuff. I also doubt two million gays even follow politics that closely. Most probably don't feel threatened by the Conservative party. It is Trudeau and the Liberals (and NDP) who create division and use scare tactics to try to get votes. The Conservative Party is not going to make LGBTQ illegal. They might not pass a law banning voluntary conversion therapy (if it is just counseling) as the Liberals and NDP are planning to do, but I don't see them trying to outlaw LGBTQ lifestyles even though many of them (including me) do not agree with LGBTQ practices or same-sex marriage. This is not some African dictatorship or Communist Russia. Conservatives are not interested in discriminating against people in employment and not interested in persecuting gays in society. But people's freedom of religion must be respected. That means you can't force someone to perform a same-sex marriage or force a baker to bake a cake for a same-sex couple. A Conservative government with enough social conservatives in it might outlaw abortions though, but I'm not convinced the majority of women are pro choice. They could be pro life. What we need are more godly leaders who believe in our historic Judeo-Christian society and less cancel culture or progressive Marxists.
