One reason why there are a lot of rich people in China and Hong Kong is back in the 1980s, I believe, the CCP leader decided that they needed to loosen up a bit and allow corporations to grow in China and the rest of the world. That decision made a lot of people rich in the following years right up to today. The CCP still retain ultimate control over these corporations, but it has brought a lot of wealth to China and made them a superpower economically and militarily. But from what I read, the rich people in China know that their wealth is not safe in China because the party can decide to seize it at any time. So they prefer to invest it abroad and Canada is a safe place to invest it. Could also be a reason why there are 300,000 people living in Hong Kong who hold Canadian citizenship. The come to Canada, obtain citizenship and many move back to Hong Kong. China is Canada's second biggest trading partner, after the U.S. The economic ties are deep. This may be one reason why the Canadian government has been delaying a decision on banning Huawei 5G in Canada. Canada's security branch I believe is concerned about all these things, but does not have much power to do anything. It is really in the Liberal government's hands. The ties between Canada and China are deep. There are 140,000 Chinese students in Canada. It is a big money maker for educational institutes. Shen Yun 2021-2022 is coming to Canada and U.S.A. in dozens of cities across America and cities in Canada, including Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver. A number of shows in Vancouver March. It is sold as the rebirth of 5000 years of culture in China before the Communist Revolution. Shen Yun 2021-22 in Canada This is a major extravaganza show. Tickets in Vancouver are listed at $138 to $440 depending on seating area. You can watch the trailer of the show at: Shen Yun Performing Arts Tickets | 26th March | Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, Canada It nowhere reflects Communist China as it is today and does not claim to. The west are open democracies and likely do not have the power to prevent such events, while China is a tightly controlled totalitarian state and can do whatever the party wants at the snap of fingers of the supreme leader. As Trudeau said when he praised them, they can "turn on a dime".

We are going to be further propagandized by Shun Yen this spring, an extravagant entertainment show about China before the Communist revolution. They say it is China "before the Communist revolution" but still the whole thing is to sell China as a place we should be connected to. We are not all that dumbed down. They can propagandize on a large scale like that in various cities in Canada because Canada is an open western democracy. See how far the west would get if we went to China and put on shows like that about how great the west is. You think the CCP would allow that to happen? Not a chance.

Empty homes or condos in Vancouver BC is a sign of foreign investment bought them just for investment. There are lots of empty condos in Vancouver owned by investors in China. Our governments have allowed foreigners to buy them up for decades and did nothing to stop it. Now Vancouver is the highest priced real estate in North America and one of the three highest in the world. Many liberals have close ties to China and a special affection for that place. Common Michael, are you serious? Oil and gas are what drive the world and make life on earth possible for billions of people and the demand is increasing. There is nothing on earth that stands a chance of replacing oil and gas. Canada contributes a total of about 0.18 parts per million of human-produced CO2 to the atmosphere. The total CO2 in the atmosphere is 400 PPM, which is a miniscule atmospheric gas. Out of that nature provides 97% of the CO2 and mankind contributes 3%. Out of the 3% man contributes, Canada contributes 1.5% of human emissions. So tell me again why this is a climate emergency that mankind is causing? But I know you don't accept facts and will stick to your liberal dogmas.

No, I think in B.C. it is crown land or some of it might be under a timber licence but much of it close to towns is not being used for anything. Just bushes while there is a huge shortage of homes for people. But the government is ignoring the people and making it impossible for the towns and cities to expand as the population grows. What does wanting the land to be available to the people as towns grow have to do with Communism. Now you're being nonsensical. Government interventionist policies is what is Marxism and there is plenty of it in Canada. That's what makes housing so unaffordable. That is why houses are 50% to double the prices of houses in the U.S. Government control is a form of Marxism. Another reason real estate prices are so high, particularly in Vancouver, BC, is because of foreign investment in real estate in Vancouver. Rich people in China particularly like Vancouver as a place to safely invest their money where it is out of reach of the government. There are even condos in Vancouver that are largely unoccupied because they are being used strictly as an investment to hold wealthy people's money. All this while Vancouver is the most expensive real estate market in North America and third in the world.
-
I also think one of the big problems in Canada causing the housing shortage is the excessive amount of red tape and government intervention in the land around towns and cities. The land is either completely unavailable or it is exorbitantly expensive and in the control of land developers or logging companies. Can anyone explain why an acre or two out of town should be priced at hundreds of thousands of dollars when no development or money has been spent on it yet?

Gradually growing Socialism is a monster that exists in Canada if you would open your eyes. There are many examples, but just a couple. A public health care system that is stretched to the brink with people needing heart or cancer surgery being put on hold and then they die waiting. Long waiting lists, long waiting periods to get an appointment. Not enough money being put into the system. Now in spite of hundreds of billions of dollars in debt, the liberals brought in ten dollar a day childcare. This support is only for women who go out and work and put their children in child care. Nothing equivalent for mothers who stay at home to raise their children in the traditional way. Liberals/Socialists don't believe in the traditional family and have little use for it. In effect, this is a Communist ideology where the Communists believe the state is better at raising people's children than the mother (or father). It allows the state to further their ideology of the state running everything and making everyone totally dependent on the state. Then you have the demand for Pharmacare for everyone, another Socialist scheme that would cost tens of billions of dollars. Don't forget about the Socialist-Communist legalizing the killing of people with medically-assisted dying, and giving it to people with mental conditions who are not fit to make any kind of rational decision. Doesn't this sound like Communism where they found a way to reduce population of mentally ill, handicapped people, and others and save the Socialist system money. Not to mention abortion of around 100,000 per year in Canada, which further reduces the costs of child care and social assistance for single women and married working women. Oh, we can't forget the public school curriculum of teaching children sexual orientation and gender identity. There are not just two genders; there are allegedly many and a child can choose his/her own preference. An eight or ten year old boy can be a girl or vice versa and the state has to provide drugs and later surgery to enable this madness. Of course we have the latest new law that outlaws a consenting LGBTQ person from even receiving counseling to change or leave the LGBTQ lifestyle. The state knows better than you or any individual. Is this your wished for vision coming true? It's not mine.

Trudeau's perverse love for China may have cost Canadians billions for all we know. Trudeau tried to make a deal with China (Communist China if you can believe it) to provide Canadians with Covid vaccine and the deal fell through, which cost Canadians $250,000. Everything Trudeau does costs Canadians a fortune because he is the one who has the top control of the cheque book for taxpayer's money. To have a guy who has no concept of money in control of the purse strings is bizarre.
-
There is actually so much more about what you said. A book could be written on why Trudeau is bad for Canada. Just one reason comes to mind: his love for all things progressive or radical social justice. When BLM marched in Canada (during the early stages of the pandemic when masking and social distancing should have been universal) Trudeau went out there and took a knee with them. BLM is known as a Marxist, anarchist organization and is a group that a PM should never have had anything to do with. But he seems to crave opportunities to support identity politics and cancel culture.

JEWS, GENTILES, CHURCH Before the cross of Christ, mankind was divided into two groups: Jews and Gentiles, a distinction caused by the covenants God had made for Israel alone with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants through Moses (Ex. 33:16; Lev. 20:24,26; Deut. 4:7-8; 1 Chr. 17:21,22; Psa. 147:19,20; Eph. 2:12). After the cross a new entity came into existence—the church that Jesus Christ promised He would build of all who believe on Him. Now there are three divisions of mankind: Jews, Gentiles, and the church (1 Cor. 10:32). It is absolutely essential to understand that these three groups exist side-by-side in today’s world, and the church was created through offering to both Jews and Gentiles a “new covenant” relationship with God. This did not bring Gentiles under the Jewish law, but delivered from it both Jews and Gentiles coming into the church. God has “broken down the middle wall of partition between [Jew and Gentile]; having abolished in His flesh the [Mosaic] law of commandments contained in the ordinances; for to make in Himself of [Jew and Gentile] one new man” (Ephesians 2:11-22) Unquote Jews, Gentiles, Church – Moments With The Book (mwtb.org)

Here is what MediaBiasFactCheck says about Canadaland news" "These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources." - Canadaland - Media Bias/Fact Check (mediabiasfactcheck.com) So why would any conservative group who wish to have a closed conference with other like-minded groups allow a liberal left wing propaganda outfit into it's meeting? The Rebel Media and their associates are not the government and are not required to open their private associations to liberal left antagonists. The government, Trudeau and Liberals, are accountable to the people who elected them, not private organizations who report on the government.
-
Is Canada becoming more like Venezuela, Russia, North Korea, or Communist China? According to Rebel Media they won a court case that allowed them to have a reporter at Trudeau's media briefings and ask a question. The reporter was trying to get to ask Trudeau a question as he was arriving someplace for a Christmas party. But they said Trudeau's bodyguards assaulted one of their reporters out of blue and they said the police refuse to take action. They are taking it to court. But if this is true, this does not bode well and gives credence to our claim that Canada is losing it's freedoms and heading in the direction of a Marxist state. Sad They appear to push him around and manhandle him, pushing him up against a wall on a public sidewalk. Here is the video of it: SHOCKING: Rebel News journalist ASSAULTED by Trudeau's bodyguards - Rebel News

The forest industry has provided good-paying jobs for tens of thousands of B.C.ers Sadly now, 18,000 will lose their jobs, and many may not be able to afford to keep their homes, and raise their families, properly. They won't be able to switch to some other good-paying jobs easily because there are none. The forest industry was it. There are many towns in B.C. built strictly on the forest industry. Government cannot simply kill that industry in an area and expect a new industry to just appear out the blue. It doesn't work like that. Most will probably receive unemployment cheques and may have to sell their homes, vehicles, etc. and move to who knows where. When that runs out they will have to go on social assistance, but that is not enough to support families and pay for their mortgages. So I don't know what will happen to those people. A small number might be close to retirement age and be able to collect a pension. Some small towns will probably die off because of the economy being killed in their area. They are one industry towns. The government proves they do not really put people first, but they listen to special interest groups like environmentalists and ignore the working people and general population of B.C. They forgot one thing. The NDP received much of their support from the union movement and the forest industry workers who they are now turning on savagely. This may be why the NDP governments in B.C. have always been very short-lived, maybe a couple terms at the most and then decades in opposition. I think we see why. They seem bent on self destruction. There is a BC Liberal MLA, Ellis Ross, who was a native chief councilor in the native Kitimaat Village, who has been running to become the next leader of the BC Liberal Party who strongly defends the resource industries (forestry, LNG, mining, pipelines, etc.) that the NDP government are hell bent on shutting down. I believe he is getting a lot of support in his campaign for the leadership of the party but it closes at 5PM PST today. If you are a BC resident and interested in supporting him, Google Ellis Ross Campaign and sign up for membership before 5PM PST today. This will give you the right to vote on the next leader of the BC Liberal party in February. I think he has a good chance of becoming the next Premier of B.C. and defeating the NDP. He and his party will be able to reverse this law but it won't be for at least three years.

"At the onset of surgical restrictions in March of 2020, all ten Canadian provinces and three territories confirmed that, despite elective surgeries being pushed back, abortions would continue without any restrictions or impediments in place." Thousands of Canadians died in 2020 awaiting surgery amid COVID-related healthcare restrictions - LifeSite (lifesitenews.com) Over 2,300 Canadians who were put on surgery waiting list during Covid in 2020 have died LifeSite news reports. But tens of thousands of abortions were performed and nothing slowed that down. Shows where Canada's priorities are. Many many people are being executed in North Korea for such things as watching a western made video or disobeying the dictator in other ways. But Canada is not far behind in killing people and maybe far ahead.

"July 5, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – Over 2,300 people placed on surgical waiting lists during the outbreak of COVID-19 in Canada died between January 2020 and December 2020, a report from Canadian thinktank SecondStreet.org confirmed last month. Thousands of Canadians died in 2020 awaiting surgery amid COVID-related healthcare restrictions - LifeSite (lifesitenews.com) "Overall, between April 2019 and December 2020, the report found that over 10,000 people had died “while waiting for surgery, a procedure, diagnostic scan or appointment with a specialist.” SecondStreet.org President Colin Craig, who authored the report “Died on a Waiting List,” explained that “[p]atient deaths occurred after waiting less than one month to more than eight years. Patients passed away while waiting for procedures that could be linked to their cause of death (e.g., cardiac surgery), as well as procedures which could have increased their quality of life during their remaining years (e.g., cataract surgery, knee surgery, etc.).” Craig noted that his report demonstrates “that Canada’s rationed health care system ultimately fails many patients – either by letting them spend their final days with a reduced quality of life, or by leaving them to die.” Looks like dying on a waiting list is a normal part of our public health care system in Canada. Why have we not heard about this on the mainstream media and from our politicians? Looks like this has been going on for years, but became particularly acute during the pandemic since people requiring life-saving surgeries have been put on waiting lists so the system in general could concentrate on Covid patients without having to deal with surgery patients. Everyone is not being treated as equals.
-
Yes of course they should both be accommodated. Everyone has as much right to urgent health care as anyone else in a public health care system. And political leaders letting the health authorities shut down surgeries for thousands of heart and cancer patients will probably save the health care system millions of dollars. So there is that advantage to it. Why they couldn't pump more money into health care in this pandemic, convert more beds into ICUs and open more facilities to keep the surgeries going is hard to understand. People who have surgery would stand a much better chance of survival and maybe not have to be put in a fully equipped ICU than not receiving the urgent surgery at all. What they are doing just doesn't make sense. They seem to have billions of dollars for everything else.

Quote Marxism is a method of socioeconomic analysis that uses a materialist interpretation of historical development, better known as historical materialism, to understand class relations and social conflict as well as a dialectical perspective to view social transformation. It originates from the works of 19th-century German philosophers Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. As Marxism has developed over time into various branches and schools of thought, currently no single, definitive Marxist theory exists.[1] Unquote - Wikipedia So basically Marxism is an anti-Bible, anti-Christian, materialistic ideology that allows it's followers who are in control of a situation to do whatever they feel like doing to suit the immediate demands facing them. There is no requirement to follow any human rights principles or Biblical principles of compassion or fairness. It is basically an atheistic system where cold, brutal means can be used. Communism developed out of Marx's theories. If following a certain policy such as giving the highest priority to Covid patients and shunting everyone else off to a holding list pleases their political bosses, satisfies the media attention which is focused on Covid, and makes the public think they are doing things the best way, then that will be the way they follow. Since people requiring surgery do not appear to be in any immediate emergency, giving all the attention to Covid patients seems like the most popular thing to do. Those awaiting surgery who die quietly in the background one by one will not be in the media anyway and nobody will be much the wiser. That is atheistic Marxism.

Marxism exists within our system. The system is not black or white. Many think the system can do no wrong. Many people in Marxist-Leninist/Communist China think their system is perfect too. One's perspective depends on whether you have been a victim or not. If you have been thrown in prison in China because of your beliefs, you will have a certain perspective about the system. If you are one of the ones needing urgent heart surgery and are sitting at home (in effect on death row) you will have a certain perspective about the system. If you are not in that situation, you may think everything is going as it should be, but you are totally wrong. Yes, it can be a form of Marxism within such a system.
