You are being dishonest. I course nobody wishes anyone die. 5.5 million died of Covid and thousands of lives in Canada were saved by vaccination. Accusing people of demanding that people and children die is sick. You are going too far. Get help.
-
You sound like a spoiled brat. How old are you anyway? Everyone lives under laws, regulations and rules. Did they teach you that in school?

Did you do your duty and get fully vaccinated to help protect yourself and your family and fellow citizens? If not you have no business to be on here complaining about restrictions. Wake up and do your part. -
The opponents of restrictions on here have no understanding of the real world. Trudeau and the Liberals did fail in this pandemic in a lot of ways. They failed on delivering PPEs, they failed to close borders early, they failed in providing rapid tests long ago, etc. etc. But all that just made the pandemic worse. Provinces failed to find a way to treat Covid patients without putting heart and cancer surgeries on hold. This cost thousands of lives. Even now thousands of people in need of urgent surgeries, etc. are put on hold. So the restrictions are needed. If the government can find a way to get the number of Covid patients down, they might be able to reduce some of the restrictions. But that is the only way they could do that because they cannot destroy the health care system. Health care is already greatly impacted and in danger of collapse in some places. Around 80% of population got fully vaccinated. Did you get fully vaccinated and do your part? If you didn't you have no business complaining about restrictions. Strange part is people who didn't get vaccinated have the nerve to go out and protest. Everyone should get fully vaccinated. That is the least everyone can do to try to help end this pandemic.

That might be true. But even if the government suddenly put billions more into the health care system, it takes years to train more nurses and doctors and build hospitals and increase the capacity. That can't be done right now. So the government's only choice is to keep the system we have working. You want to get rid of restrictions and overwhelm the health care system to the point we have a collapsed system. That is irrational. Nothing more to say about it. Carry on with your useless rants against restrictions.
-
A huge amount of the provincial budget already goes to the health care system. If you think you have a magic answer to letting the hospitals be flooded with Covid patients and still keep the system going, why don't you tell the government. You must be a genius. Until then there has to be restrictions to protect the health care system from collapsing.

No, that's not the reason for the restrictions. The reason has been repeated over and over already on the media. If there were no restrictions, the health care system would completely collapse. The hospitals would be inundated with Covid patients and other people would be turned away. There are emergencies every day and people need help. -
The restrictions cannot be ended for the simple reason the health care system would completely collapse. We would have no place to treat people in emergencies which happen constantly everywhere. So the choice is live with restrictions or face the possibility of total chaos and disaster with no health care system. Funny how so many people just don't get it.

A famous native women Mohawk political activist by the name of Kahn-Tineta Horn said white man will pay and pay and keep paying. She was absolutely right about that. I am sure white man will never stop paying, especially as long as we have liberals and left around or people willing to write the cheques on taxpayer's money.

Liberals and NDP lean heavily toward Marxism. Liberals are more accurately described as hard-core progressives or woke liberals. They just agreed to pay 40 billion dollars to natives who were taken into foster care and allegedly deprived of their culture. This is unheard of in any other place on the planet. It's hard to see how much more radical Liberals could be. This staggering amount of money will be taken from ordinary taxpayers today who had absolutely nothing to do with taking FNs into foster care and they were placed there in order to protect them. There was no other place to put them. There are other things that prove the radical nature of the Liberal government. Things you might or might not agree with.

No. The world view people hold is closely related to their beliefs in God and the Bible. You will find that most climate change alarmists, all Communists, and most Socialists do not believe in God or the Bible. The fact is most secularists, Marxists, Communists, Socialists, oppose Biblical Christianity, God, and the Bible because it exposes their error and unbelief. Humans by nature are corrupt and choose darkness rather than the light which God has given us in his word, the Bible. So the Bible and religious discussion is entirely relevant to politics and world affairs. Secondly, nobody is forcing you to believe anything on a forum. You have the freedom to refute anything. Here is a link of a video you can watch discussing the climate change issue in connection with world views. My honest belief is that the Bible and biblical Christianity present the proper world view. It can't be separated or excluded from world affairs, climate change or politics. Saying one should only mention the Bible or something in a religious context on a certain thread is denying freedom of speech to everyone and trying to relegate them to the fringes. It is a form of censorship. That is not how freedom of speech works. A Biblical Approach to Climate Change (part 1) - Media Center - creation.com

Of course it matters if people die for whatever reason. So you are saying the world should not take any action to try to stop the pandemic spread? Sounds irresponsible to say the least. But what would be your plan? You seem to know more than the experts. -
Marxism, Socialism, wokeness, progressivism is flourishing in Canada and most are asleep and aren't even aware or they openly support it. The people in some central American countries and Cuba were asleep at the wheel too and many supported the Communist revolutionaries. They paid the price with tens of thousands of lives lost and their freedom gone. They now live in poverty. In Venezuela the people thought they were being wise when they elected Socialists. The Socialists destroyed the economy. Socialists then turned around and took away everyone's freedom and brutally imposed totalitarianism. Now the people are starving and trying to flee. Quote Economics: Why is it that reporters keep scratching their heads about Venezuela's descent into extreme poverty and chaos? The cause is simple. Socialism. End it and you will end the misery. When the New York Times wrote about Venezuela's ongoing collapse a year ago, it described how the country was suffering "painful shortages … even of basic foods," and how "electricity and water are being rationed, and huge areas of the country have spent months with little of either." Here is how the Times explained the reason for Venezuela's dire situation: "The growing economic crisis (was) fueled by low prices for oil, the country's main export; a drought that has crippled Venezuela's ability to generate hydroelectric power; and a long decline in manufacturing and agricultural production." There's no mention — not one — of the fact that Hugo Chávez tried to turn Venezuela into a socialist paradise, policies that his successor Nicolás Maduro has continued. The Times' coverage is par for the course. Unquote What Caused Venezuela's Collapse Is No Mystery — Except To Economically Illiterate Journalists | Investor's Business Daily (investors.com) Of course the left wing media try to put a different spin on. We live in a world of lies.

So? It is still a lot of people. The number of deaths is about 5.5 million people which is possibly more than the population of British Columbia. -

Someone referred to you as he but your photo is a she. Are you male or female or binary or one of the other dozen or so? What pandemic plan are you talking about? This is all new for the world and they are doing the best they can. -

Your figures don't mention 2021. The total number of deaths is 5,449,423. There would also be far more than 5 million who suffer from long Covid or ongoing medical / health problems as well. how many died of Covid in the world? - Bing This is one result of the pandemic. The pandemic has caused trillions of dollars in damage to the economies of the world and continues to do so. -
government appealing indigenous child welfare ruling
blackbird replied to EastCanada90's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Most of the Canadian population was not even around in the mid 20th century when a lot of the FN kids were apprehended by child welfare and put in foster homes. We had nothing to do with what past provincial governments did decades ago. Secondly, I can't see how rescuing FN kids from a situation of neglect or domestic abuse was a bad thing. It wasn't considered wrong in those days. But today activists and the left consider everything white man did in the past as criminal or wrong. It's all part of the cancel culture / progressive woke movement and the red power movement to make white man pay and pay forever. -
government appealing indigenous child welfare ruling
blackbird replied to EastCanada90's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Another aspect to the $40 billion dollars the government has said they will now pay out is how do these federal liberals, NDP and bureaucrats now reason that the taxpayers of today, who had nothing to do with what went on with child welfare/foster homes in the past, now must pay tens of billions of dollars in compensation? How are we as taxpayers responsible to pay for past errors if in fact they were errors by provincial and federal governments? The federal minister Hajdu spoke today about the colonization, racism, etc. of the past. But how does she automatically assume the 37 million Canadians are guilty of these things or anything? It seems absurd to me to force Canadians to pay out billions of dollars for past governments allegedly denying native children their culture. These children were neglected on their reserves or the victims of domestic abuse and alcoholism. But liberals and activists are all pointing the finger at the Canadian population today and seem to be saying it is our fault and we must pay for it. These kids were in fact rescued from dangerous and dire situations. There was no other place or resource to take them. Paying them tens of thousands of dollars simply because they were removed from their reserves to protect them just doesn't seem to make any sense. I might be able to see the rationale of setting up foster homes on reserves and let the natives look after them themselves from now on, but making Canadians pay a penalty for historical events just doesn't seem reasonable. Canada is the only country on earth that is paying out this kind of money for this kind of thing. This has never happened before.
