Every form of government exercises some form of control, be it Liberal, Conservative, or NDP. That is just what government does, control. It is a question of degree and what they control. Left wing-liberal governments are interventionist and try to control society and business as much as possible. Conservatives not so much. They believe the purpose of government is to protect individual freedom as much as possible while at the same time have good laws and a justice system that maintains law and order. Otherwise you have anarchy.

People who attack other people are not social conservatives or Christians. Just like murderers are not Christians. That is against the Bible. Evil doers will have their place in the lake of fire. There is crazy and violent people of every type, left, right and in between. We all know that. So you trying to equate violent people with 'cultural religious" sentiments is nonsense as usual. When are you going to get your act together? This is a phony debate that never ends and nobody agrees about anything.
-
Right. That has nothing to do with social conservatives or conservatism in Canada. Social conservatives don't believe in Fascism. I think I already said what social conservatives believe. First and foremost they believe in Christian principles, which involves worshiping the true God of the Bible and shunning evil. They believe in less government control and they believe in freedom and free enterprise as all conservatives do.

Not saying FB is losing money. The ordinary Facebook user is the victim here with the government's new Marxist control of social media. Facebook users are the real victims because they cannot post a lot of links now. FB has blocked users form posting links such as the one I tried to post about a guy building an ATV. Presumably because the URL has msn in the link. It was not a news item but FB still blocked it because they don't and can't examine the actual content of millions of user's links. Their AI obviously just looks at the URL it is coming from and if it has msn in it, FB blocks it. That is how the government new legislation is harming FB users.
-
It seems you don't understand how Facebook works. They do not and can not monitor what is news and what is just information of interest such as man building an ATV. There is a difference between news articles and youtube videos of people's personal interests or hobbies. It is ridiculous to think FB can know what every individual user is posting or linking to.
-
Facebook is totally different than Google. FB is a social media posting website. Tens, maybe hundreds of millions of people post comments, links to articles, photos, etc. That is what the social media giant is for. Google is mainly a search engine. Maybe there is more to Google than I know about but it appears to be an entirely different thing. For Facebook to monitor every post or link that someone puts on FB would require a million employees. If you understand AI a bit, you will know they can't determine whether you are linking to a news article or a video about someone building an ATV. Everything AI does has to be built into the software by programmers. They cannot replace humans to monitor the content people post. There are just too many postings on FB. I don't think Google has the same kind of social media posting site unless it runs some other sites. Because AI can't analyze every link people make on FB, it is senseless for the government to say FB must pay for every news item an individual user posts on FB. They have no way of knowing what is news and what isn't. FB also does not charge users to post links to articles, etc. So that is not how they make money from FB. FB makes money with advertising. It is not even a news website. So the government imposition of a fee to post links to news is irrational. Facebook has not way of determining what is news and what isn't. It is irrational for the government to be trying to charge FB for posting news.

Modern psychiatry is a recent practice that lacks morality and credibility. It is based on questionable theories by people who claimed to have some insight into the human mind. It is untrustworthy. It is not based on Biblical truth. You can read the link to Wikipedia about Sigmund Freud, one of the psychoanalysis theorists. The Bible is not a science book and when God created the universe and mankind in six days, that was a supernatural event. Why would God need to bring scientific jargon into the Bible when it was a supernatural event? There is no need for that. "Why Freud Was Wrong: Sin, Science and Psychoanalysis (1995; second edition 1996; third edition 2005) is a book by Richard Webster, in which the author provides a critique of Sigmund Freud and psychoanalysis, and attempts to develop his own theory of human nature. Webster argues that Freud became a kind of Messiah and that psychoanalysis is a pseudoscience and a disguised continuation of the Judaeo-Christian tradition. Webster endorses Gilbert Ryle's arguments against mentalist philosophies in The Concept of Mind (1949), and criticizes many other authors for their treatment of Freud and psychoanalysis. The book for which Webster may be best remembered, it has been called "brilliant" and "definitive", but has also been criticized for shortcomings of scholarship and argument. It formed part of the "Freud wars", an ongoing controversy around psychoanalysis." Why Freud Was Wrong - Wikipedia Psychoanalysis theorists are divided amongst themselves and often don't even agree with each other. As this one says psychoanalysis is a pseudoscience, i.e., a phony science which cannot be trusted. -
Sadly, this seems too hard for you to understand. The Canadian mission was to give Canadians and Afghans who worked for Canadians the highest priority for evacuation from Afghanistan. The reports say Sajjan interfered with that priority and directed that 200 non-Canadians, who happened to be Sikhs, be brought out ahead of the Canadians and those who helped Canadians. The 200 Sikhs had nothing to do with Canada's mission there during the previous conflict. It appears Sajjan may have been lobbied by a Sikh organization in Canada to bring them out ahead of the Canadians and those who helped Canadian Forces in Afghanistan during the war. There was nothing in the news report about choosing between bringing Christians or Sikhs out. That was not the issue at all. It is something you are inventing to try to smear Christians as usual.
-
You really need to study the Bible under the guidance of someone or some organization that understands it properly. The Old Testament is partly a history of Israel and God's dealing with them. It is easy to misunderstand it if you just heard some verses pulled out of it without understanding the context and period in time.

Facebook has millions of users. FB would have to employ an army of people to read every attachment someone made and they don't charge for users on FB to post links. So why would FB pay a fortune to allow people to post links now that the government wants money for every news item posted. Of course they are just going to cut off or block links such as the one I tried to make which came from MSN. FB doesn't have the manpower to examine every posting from MSN to see see if it is news or not. This is the real problem with the government meddling in the internet. The government simply doesn't know what they are doing and the consequences.

It appears you are playing loose with words and making things up. "Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy. Opposed to anarchism, democracy, pluralism, liberalism, socialism, and Marxism, fascism is placed on the far-right wing within the traditional left–right spectrum." - Wikipedia "Social conservatism is a political philosophy and a variety of conservatism which places emphasis on traditional social structures over social pluralism.[1][2] Social conservatives organize in favor of duty, traditional values and social institutions, such as traditional family structures, gender roles, sexual relations, national patriotism, and religious traditions.[3][4] Social conservatism is usually skeptical of social change, instead tending to support the status quo concerning social issues.[4] Social conservatives also value the rights of religious institutions to participate in the public sphere, thus often supporting government-religious endorsement and opposing state atheism, and in some cases opposing secularism.[5][6][7]" - Wikipedia

Not sure how you equate conservatism with Fascism. fas·cism [ˈfaSHˌizəm] noun an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization. There is no similarity to Fascism and the Conservative Party in Canada and definitely no similarity to social Conservativism. You do not appear to have any idea what you are talking about. We have an authoritarian type of government now in Canada. The imposition of carbon taxes on everyone is an authoritarian measure and it is a scam. The controls imposed on the internet is another authoritarian law. Imposing SOGI on young people in the public school system is authoritarian and forcing a certain liberal-progressive ideology on them.

Aside from your haywire comments on religion, you missed the main point entirely. This was not a question of rescuing one religion over another. The Canadian mission was to get Canadians and those who worked for the Canadians Forces in Afghanistan out of the danger of the Taliban. The resources Canada sent there were not for the purpose of rescuing people from other countries that had nothing to do with Canada's military mission there. This has nothing to do with picking one religion over another. ""However, the Globe and Mail report, citing three officials of Canadian forces, refutes Sajjan's claims, and shows he ordered the airlifting of the over 200 Afghan Sikhs, prioritising them over Canadians or those linked to Canada." These 200 Afghan Sikhs had nothing to do with Canada's mission there. They were apparently given priority over Canadians and those who worked for Canada there because they were Sikhs. The mission was for the purpose of rescuing Canadians and those linked to Canada, not rescuing people of other nationalities that had nothing to do with Canada being there.

I tried to post a video of a guy building an ATV from old car parts on Facebook, but FB says it can't be shared because Canadian government does not allow sharing "news content". This is not news content. Just a guy building an ATV. This is what Big Brother Marxist government has come to. Man Spends 1000 Hours Building All-Terrain Vehicle From Old Car Parts! by @DonnDIY | Watch (msn.com) This is an incredible ATV he has built.

I would add to the topic by saying God has ordained that human life is sacred and those who take upon themselves to kill someone are to be held responsible. " 5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. " Genesis 9:5-6 KJV It says nothing about someone being excused because of mental issues. One would think on such an important issue that if people could be excused by someone else declaring that the accused had mental problems when they committed the murder, that would be mentioned, but it isn't. Actually the punishment of evil doers is reinforced in Romans ch.13. Again, there is nothing there about people with mental issues being let off. " But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil." Romans 13:4(b) KJV -
"In 2021, Harjit Sajjan, a Sikh Canadian, was the Minister of National Defence of Canada. That was a turbulent time when the US and its allies were rushing to exit Afghanistan amid a Taliban takeover of the war-ravaged country. Harjit Sajjan instructed the Canadian Armed Forces to prioritise the rescue of 225 Afghan Sikhs and allocated resources meant for Canadians to them, according to a news report. This is claimed to have affected the evacuation of those on the priority list for Canada. According to a recent report by Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail, Harjit Sajjan, then Canada's defence minister, used the resources allocated to Canadian citizens and Afghans linked to Canada and used them to help Afghan Sikhs. He even ordered that the Afghan Sikhs be rescued first." "However, the Globe and Mail report, citing three officials of Canadian forces, refutes Sajjan's claims, and shows he ordered the airlifting of the over 200 Afghan Sikhs, prioritising them over Canadians or those linked to Canada." Rescue Afghan Sikhs first: Row over Canada ex-minister Harjit Sajjan's order (msn.com) According to the allegations, Sajjan is accused of prioritizing resources meant for Canadian citizens and Afghans linked to Canada and using the resources to help Afghan Sikhs who had no connection to Canada or Canada's mission in Afghanistan.

The problem with that is God has revealed himself and his revelation to mankind in the form of the Holy Scriptures that point out the problem with mankind. Yes, one could live without God in his life, but according to Scriptures could end up in Hell. God is man's only hope to avoid that. The Scriptures (King James Bible) explain how. The Scriptures describe how God created everything in six days including Adam and Eve. God created mankind with a relationship between each individual and himself. Along with that he gave man free will but also a requirement to have a good relationship with their Creator. Adam and Eve broke this relationship by eating the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. This alienated mankind from God. This resulted in eternal death and a corrupt, fallen world which is what we have right up to today. But God, in his mercy, sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem fallen mankind and restore him into a good relationship with God. The only way this can be done is by man responding to God's offer of free grace by believing in His Son and accepting Him as one's personal Savior. This means the one who is redeemed is completely forgiven and now is a son or daughter of God and will live with Him for eternity. This is where the Scriptures come in and the gospel of John is a good place to start. The epistles expand on the this and tell us how to live for God and with Him.

It is important to know the theories of evolution, the theory of a Big Bang are false. Genesis says in six days God created everything. This is stated in a way which means it is to be taken literally. These theories deny that God designed and created the universe in six days. All one has to do is look at the complexity of the creation to know it required God. Take the atom for instance. It is composed of sub atomic particles and its components operate on amazing principles of physics that keep it together to interact with other particles or atoms to form molecules of different kinds. These things could never have happened by some kind of cosmic accident. That is just not a rational explanation. They were designed with extreme precision and are really amazing.

Really? That is not what can be commonly found by a simple search. "According to the Public Service Commission of Canada, the size of the federal public service reached 274,219 employees in 2022/23—an increase of 40.4 per cent since 2014/15. " fraserinstitute.org "Trudeau government increased federal employees 40% since election in 2015" Government hired over 98,000 new federal workers since 2015 | National Post

Who said a specific word has to in the Bible for it to be real? The word nuclear is probably not in the Bible either. Doesn't mean it isn't real. -

The universe is complex, life is complex, the laws of physics and all the atomic structure must have had a cause at some point. The universe is an effect. Every effect has a cause. The is just logic 101. -

That's a pretty tough concept to absorb. I don't think there is any scientist who would agree. In one sense, you are really advocating faith. It would require blind faith to believe something can come from nothing without some outside power. That then appears to make it a kind of new religion. The Christian or Biblical faith is based on reason. God is separate and apart from the material universe. He is not governed by the laws of physics or science. Many people can't seem to wrap their heads around that. They think everything must be according to their view of the material universe. But they forget we are talking about the supernatural. God is a supernatural being, separate and apart from the physical universe. So God is a spirit of infinite power, wisdom, and ability. He always existed. The material universe which we see part of around us is always changing. Because it is always changing and aging, many believe it must have had a beginning. But how did it begin? You have two choices: 1. The universe appeared out of nothing with no outside power or designer/creator. OR 2. The universe was designed and created by an infinitely powerful designer-Creator, who we call God. The law of cause and effect supports no.2. -

I probably would. Another interesting thing that obviously required an extremely powerful and knowledgeable designer, is the atomic structure. This video goes into the atomic structure. I was always interested in chemistry and astronomy when I was a youngster and had my own lab. The atomic structure is so incredible but how often have atheists ever stopped to think where did it come from? It stands to reason it could not have evolved or just appeared out of the blue. The atomic parts of the atom are all governed by exact laws of physics. Energy is another concept that has something to do with it. But again these are things that could not have come into existence without a designer-creator. That's my take on it this morning. I don't claim infallibility, but perhaps you have a better explanation for where they came from. An accident? No. That would not make sense Bing Videos
