  1. No. You can find almost any perverse statement on Google. Google is not always an authority. Google is being hauled before the government and authorities for over reaching control of the marketplace and industry domination. I go with common sense and the law which guarantees freedom of expression, except for exceptional circumstances.
  2. There you are making general vague statements without any basis. I said no contract can take away basic rights without a clear meaningful reason such as when you are on the job, you can't say certain things. But it doesn't need a written contract to tell people how to think and speak on the job. That's just common sense.
  3. Such an agreement would be invalid because it was signed under coercion, i.e. to get the job. If you are talking about attacking the employer or business, of course you can't do that on your own time or on social media. But you don't need to sign an agreement for that. That is just common sense. But aside from that, an employer cannot take away someone's basic rights in exchange for the job when it has nothing to do with the job.
  4. Not likely because that would be restricting someone's freedom of expression on their own time by coercion. You cannot coerce someone to give up their freedom of speech on their own time in exchange for a job and paycheck. There would be an understanding that you will not attack the employer or his business on your own time, but that is all. You don't need a written agreement for that.
  5. We have lots of examples of employers taking liberties which they do not legally have. That's why we have labour law firms advertising their services on TV warning the people that when an employer lays you off you may be entitled to far more severance pay than they give you. They think they can shove you off with a pittance, but they learn from the lawyers to pay up real severance pay. You think associations and employers have unlimited rights which is wrong. People have basic rights such as freedom of expression and beliefs. You cannot sign those rights off and no association or employer with any sense would even attempt to force you to sign off your fundamental freedom of expression, particularly when you are on your own time. It would be an invalid agreement. It is very unlikely the nurse in this topic signed off her freedom of expression on her own time with the college of nursing. It would not be valid anyway.
  6. That's the thing about authoritarians. They believe it is their god-given right to trample and take other people's rights away for whatever excuse they might have in their tiny little minds. They convince themselves its all for the greater good. Didn't we hear somewhere Chairman Mao thought the same way?
  7. "WEF founder Klaus Schwab is the author of the book COVID-19: The Great Reset, published in July 2020, which argues that the coronavirus pandemic can and should be used for an “economic, societal, geopolitical, environmental and technological reset”, including, in particular, advancing global governance, accelerating digital transformation, and tackling climate change." Davos World Economic Forum Psychopaths – Members and Goals | Algora Blog There is something about this whole WEF thing which I don't really understand. If its purpose is not as stated above, then what would be its purpose? Why is the finance minister of Canada and deputy PM a part of it? If the WEF is working against democracy, isn't that a danger for Canadian democracy?
  8. You know what! There are a number of law schools in B.C. such as the U.B.C. in Vancouver, the University of Victoria Faculty of Law, Thompson Rivers University, People's Law school, and Peter A. Allard School of Law. So it ridiciulous to say a private Christian University such as the TWU is harming LGBTQ people. There is no reason in the world why they would want to go to a Christian university or complain about it unless it is politically motivated like you. Your claims are a plain lie about harming LGBTQ. Every private religious institution has a perfect right to have their own admission requirements. This is not China.
  9. The TWU is a private Christian university and therefore according to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms they have freedom of religion. If their religious beliefs means they cannot accept LGBTQ students or people living in common-law, that is there right according to the Charter freedom of religion clause. The Supreme Court often does not follow the Charter themselves. By denying the university the right to their freedom of religion they are proving they only follow the Charter when it fits their own liberal-progressive ideology. This is how Christians are being persecuted and discriminated against in Canada. It is sad but true. If people don't believe in the Bible or are opposed to what the TWU stands for they are free to choose not to go there and the TWU as a private institution has the right to accept whoever they wish as students. Canadians are losing their fundamental freedoms.
  10. "Jordan Peterson has a right to voice his opinion about issues we face, not just in Canada but around the world. He tells it like it is and these groups feel offended by his truths. For far too long we’ve been told we can’t say this or that because it might hurt someone’s feelings. Seems having a very thin skin gets you what you want … control over others. I also don’t mince words and, yes, I can be a little blunt, but I speak my mind because it’s my right to do so. The simple solution to deal with Mr. Peterson’s engagement at the Canadian Tire Centre? If you don’t like him or what he says, then don’t go. You have no right to deny others the chance to hear him speak. Trying to control what others say or listen to doesn’t win you any friends and probably will result in the opposite." YOU SAID IT: Silencing free speech (msn.com) This article says it exactly. If someone doesn't like the views of an individual, just don't go. Go somewhere else. But shutting down other people's right to speak their belief doesn't cut it. It is a violation of basic human rights.
  11. Basically you're saying you don't give a rat's a-- about the thousands of jobs and the billions of dollars in revenue and taxes for Canadians.
  12. "Justin Trudeau does a boxing workout in September 2015. A letter writer says the prime minister delivered verbal punches to the leaders of Japan and Germany when he rejected their pleas for Canadian LNG and instead lectured them about ending reliance on fossil fuels.© Provided by National Post" Makes one wonder about the legality and constitutionality of his actions since it is perfectly legal for provinces to develop LNG and export it to other countries. At least the propriety of his actions should be questioned by provinces and opposition parties. Isn't he interfering with provincial jurisdiction over natural resources and trade? Thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in business and tax revenue are at stake in the LNG industry.
  13. Another example of how taxpayer's money is being used for the " just transition". https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/other/north-coast-first-nations-get-4-million-to-transition-off-diesel-energy/ar-AA16Hw4V?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=cfefe3e2888546adae890f33f87149b4
  14. Professional associations should never have the power to remove employees from the job. That should be strictly an employer's business not some association which is driven by politics and ideology. The Law society of B.C. also barred Trinity Western University from training and certifying lawyers simply because it disagrees with their moral beliefs on sexual matters. That is wrong. Again a professional association is controlling the profession in relation to politics or differences of beliefs on religious moral issues. Denial of freedom of religion. What TWU believes on sexual matters has no bearing on their job as lawyers. People are free to choose any lawyer they wish. Nobody is forced to go to a TWU lawyer.
  15. Reading the news report on the BCCNM it says 6,000 nurses signed a petition opposing the fee increase. They responded to news media inquiries with a long list of talking points. One thing they mentioned is: " Cultural safety and humility: The BCCNM says it "upheld its commitment to making our health system more culturally safe for Indigenous clients, including the publication of a new practice standard and learning resources to support registrants." It appears they are into woke politics for indigenous. This sheds more light on where they are coming from. Might help explain why we spent six hours waiting in an emergency department a couple months ago before being seen while a native fella walked in, played on his smart phone for 20 minutes and was taken in to be seen.
  16. The BCCNM has incurred the displeasure of their members with their extremely high annual fees they charge. "As their union negotiates with the provincial government on a new contract, B.C. nurses are also pleading with their professional college to reconsider a significant hike in registration fees. The board of the B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives approved the college's fee schedule for 2023-24 last month, raising the cost of registration for each type of college member by at least 15 per cent. Practicing registered nurses, for example, are expected to pay an additional $78.29, for a total of $600.24 for the year, which begins April 1. And that total doesn't include the cost of liability protection (which is required), or membership in a professional association (which is optional). More than 6,000 people have signed an online petition against the college's fee increases, and the BC Nurses Union has also come out against them." B.C. nurses frustrated by professional college fee hike | CTV News I can't imagine too many of their members would be particularly happy with their actions in going after the freedom of expression of one of their members either. Seriously, $600 per year for membership?? What do they need to charge their members that kind of money for? Where is all the money going?
  17. Letters: Justin Trudeau's punch lines are hurting allies — and us (msn.com) While B.C. is building a pipeline across the northern part of the province to ship LNG to the seaport at Kitimat, BC and building an LNG terminal there, Trudeau is destroying our customer relationship with Japan and Germany by his words to their leaders about LNG when they asked for help.
  18. Provinces are working on luring nurses to their provinces because of the huge shortage of nurses. Meanwhile a woke BC nurses association can afford to cancel a nurse because they are controlled by woke activists and don't like a nurse's personal beliefs and comments on social media. Maybe Alberta, Saskatchewan or another province would be happy to take her on staff. A nurses association, which is nothing more than a union, should not have the power to remove nurses from their jobs. That could be the Socialist NDP government relinguishing control of the health care system to union. Not sure if all provinces operate in that manner.
  19. Another report of the disastrous effects of Trudeau's war on climate change: "We’ve already seen the effect on average Canadians. Under the “waste” component of the 2030 emissions reduction plan, the government mandated single-use plastics out of existence for most people. The actual bans kicked in at the end of 2022, so if you’re still running on hoarded plastic ware, straws and coffee stirrers, you’ll want to make it last. And yet, an analysis of Canada’s net-zero plastics plan proves it’s a net loser . By the government’s own admission, the bans address a virtual non-problem (99% of plastic waste in Canada was already disposed of safely, from a public and environmental perspective). But the government will spend more of your money on the program than it will save you in averted environmental, health or safety damages. And of course, according to predictions from the government itself, substitute materials will actually increase the mass of waste you’ll pay to dispose of and be more harmful to the environment. On the housing front, the government’s 2030 emissions reduction plan calls for emissions from homes and commercial buildings to fall 42% (from 2019 levels) by 2030. This is wildly unrealistic . If you’d like some numbers, C.D. Howe economists estimate “total annual retrofit costs, just to households, would run from $4.5 billion to $6.3 billion.” That’s roughly the cost of building two or three modern hospitals per year." GREEN: Trudeau's 'net-zero' mission will cause widespread economic and social harm (msn.com) This isn't even about the "just transition" plan which we don't have the details about yet.
  20. Do you know how ludicrous that sounds to many people? Whose morality are you talking about? Progressives, LGBTQ+, liberal left Socialists, abortionists, supporters of assisted suicide or whose? There is no morality apart from our historic Judeo-Christian culture and beliefs. Many politicians and activists do not hold to historic Biblical morality. Society is on a downward spiral as far as morality is concerned. But you are OK with that? It is also odd that you are in favour of restricting speech that disagrees with your concept of "morality". Perhaps you would like Soviet or China's style of speech control.
  21. I explained this countless times. There were certain ceremonial laws in the Old Testament that only applied to Israel at that period of time several thousand years ago and never applied to the church which came into being 2,000 years ago. There are some things that God opposes for all time, both in the Old Testament period and in the church age today. Those are stated in the New Testament which was written after the church was started 2,000 years ago. Romans ch.1 condemns homosexuality and that is addressed to the church. I thought I quoted that to you recently. So why do you ignore it and try make some convoluted argument that makes no sense biblically. Michael doesn't care. He will agree with you simply because he and you are both liberals and opposed to truth. You have permission to wear whatever uniform you wish, eat bacon, and work on the Sabbath because those commands do not apply today in the church age.
  22. So what? What do her personal comments on gender/biology have to do with her job? The news website you yourself gave said: "Bildy says it is her understanding the citation against Hamm has nothing to do with her workplace or professional activities, but rather a result of apparent complaints from members of the public who disagreed with Hamm’s views." She is being investigated and dragged before the College of nursing because of complaints from some non-patients who believe she should be silenced and believe she doesn't have freedom to state she believes in biology and only two sexes. These are obviously complaints made by woke activists, possibly some trans activists who want to silence everyone in society from being able to express any views contrary to theirs. The whole thing was initiated by progressive politics that has taken over many professional institutions and societies.
  23. "You see, Amy Hamm had waded into the controversial conflict of worldviews between trans rights activists on one side and women’s rights, and even gay and lesbian groups, on the other. And, apparently, women’s rights are transphobic. It is a raging debate in the public square, as one would expect when a conflict of rights occurs and when a small group insists that everyone else conform to its worldview." Amy Hamm BCCNM disciplinary hearing: Opening Submissions by Lisa Bildy, JD (cawsbar.ca) One Twitter user commented on her feed: "A new standard of practice is emerging for Canadian professionals: be woke, be quiet, or be accused of professional misconduct." The well-known political commentator, Jordan Peterson, is also apparently being threatened by the psychology association for his presentations. I don't know where these associations get the notion they have the right to control what people say on their own time. Canadians are losing their basic freedom of beliefs and expression.
  24. Michael, That is what the nurse's association allegation is. It is not accurate. She said she is not opposed to trans people or transphobic. She said she believes in biology i.e., a person is the gender they are biologically born with. She stood up for her belief on Twitter and supported the sign in Vancouver that support J.K. Rowling, the famous author who apparently believes the same way as her. You should realize and admit that anyone who says they believe in the biology and does not believe in the gender fluidity ideology or that anyone can be whatever gender they choose is automatically accused of being transphobic. You should know by now anyone who does not go along with the woke thinking on trans is automatically categorized as transphobic. If you want to read her comments on Twitter here it is: Amy Eileen Hamm (@preta_6) / Twitter
