Sorry, but I happened to be just discussing this with a friend in Florida a couple weeks ago and we found this: Ten of the top 15 strongest hurricanes to make landfall in Florida struck either in or before 1995. Rising sea levels can only come from melting ice that is resting on land. The water in the atmosphere cycles through rain and evaporation. There are really only 2 major masses of permanent ice on Earth - the Greenland icesheet and the Antarctic icesheet. And the Antarctic icesheet has been gaining ice in recent years. If all the glaciers on Earth melt suddenly, all at one, sea level would rise by less than 2 feet. I'm with Freeman Dyson on this one and he was a pretty damn smart man:

The insane amounts of money being spent on climate crap is driving people into poverty. Poor people don't care about the climate. They will burn dung, they will burn coal, they will pollute the environment if it means they can survive. Ever seen a homeless camp? They are filthy fire hazards. Pull people out of poverty, THEN you can have your pet projects. How you pull people out of poverty is by providing cheap energy. @Michael Hardner I feel the same about looking at the climate as I do about the pandemic. Had the authorities involved ALL branches of science that applied to the situation (as the world's pandemic plans all recommended prior to covid), better decisions would have been made. Instead, everything was handed over to Public Health officials, who advised governments. Public Health officials have no interest in the economy, children's education, they are not experts in any of the above sciences. With climate, you said here that you will not take into account anyone but actual "climate scientists." If you had taken the one hour to watch the video, you would see that geology, biology, botany and many other sciences are involved in climate predicting. What does the geological record show? What do we learn about past climate from plants, especially ancient species? When you dismiss all the other sciences, you don't get a fully round picture. And that's when bad decisions are made. Hope that makes sense.

When have I questioned an entire field of science? On the contrary, the pandemic should have taken in many fields of science and I have made posts on literally all of them - from biology, virology, epidemiology, particulate science, public health science, vaccinology, medical ethics, economists, education experts - literally I've posted on all of this.
