  1. Really, show us the long term proposals. b.t.w., the Manitoba power is a long way from the Ontario market. Lot's of power loss.
  2. We can do a lot better, and nobody will be hurt by our efforts. It is your do nothing attitude that is destroying the world. Get off you lazy assets and accomplish something.
  3. You are the one with ideological views, assuming the oil will magic itself away. Caught up the billions needed for long term studies and wait the century before you dump you mess in the ocean. It is up to you who benefit from it to prove it does not cause any problems. What was your solution? There was necessary maintenance thet needed to be done. Nobody wanted the results, but not doing it would have been far, far worse. Look at the larger picture for a change, get above the 747.
  4. We have a lot of evidence about the effect of Exxon Valdez on whales and dolphins over 25 years later, and mortality rates are still effected. We don't have good studies on the many smaller species, perhaps Exxon should be funding the billions needed for independent study of their disaster; Deepwater Horizon has many negative consequences after 5 year, but again BP and all those that profit from them should be putting together the trillions needed to properly study their negligence.
  5. The sewage decomposes fast naturally, and the oil sticks around murdering wildlife for centuries. b.t.w. I never said I was ok with the sewage, just the fact that it had absolutely nothing to do with the cement factory.
  6. In Iraqi and Syrian courts none the less. Of course just like the dumb ass Congress, it will be totally meaningless.
  7. But you have no problem drilling more wells holes.
  8. the old collateral damage is unimportant theory. We saw what collateral damage led to in the middle east.
  9. Do you run out and loot during a crisis because "everyone else is doing it"? The mob mentality.
  10. You are right, much better to have a racist slumlord.
  11. What $30 billion? A projection for a year that is just half over? Are you suggesting that $30 billion was already spent? Do your investments turn around in hours, days, weeks, months, years, longer?
  12. While the economy is complex because of the wide number of variables, those who claim to understand it basically are latching onto a simple theory as if it were a scientific discovery. What they fail to understand is that the economy is an artificial construct, and the real variables are people with agendas. The real economy is our fragile planet with its limited resources.
  13. Lots of youtube 'documentaries' out there, i would't classify them as more informative than the CBC.
  14. Nice of you to point out the two wars that have created the terrorist world we now live in.
  15. You can't look at on metic in isolation. GDP and revenues were increasing until about '74, and the debt to GDP ratio was decreasing. The reckless years were '75 through '95, yes Mulroney had a couple of good years when first elected but then his ways turned just as bad if not worse than Trudeau was during the early 80's. The debt:GDP was lower in '79 then when Trudeau was elected in '68. I have no problem with you criticizing Trudeau from '75 onwards, but when you give Mulroney a break you are showing your true colours.
  16. True comedy gold. If you believe what you typed, the that is just sad. j Almost exactly the same as Harper, although he was about 2 years younger. Yes, Mulcair had more years in politics. The point is Trump had none, zilch, compared to over 7 years with Trudeau.
  17. Look at the transfers to provinces, there is indeed a blip where they lowered them for about 2 years but they were restored and increased after that, not hard to see it is in the fiscal tables. What tax hike? More revisionist history. Yes, they did increase the number of tax brackets to 4 from 3 (not Mulroney decreased it from 9 to 3) but they didn't increase taxes. In fact the 2nd highest tax bracket was lowered by 1 percentage point.
  18. and restored funding later, it was like a 2-year blip in lowered transfer payments
  19. is BobofMiami a spammer? All posts link to a website that someone said is pay for use.

    1. Cum Laude

      Cum Laude

So don't open them. Smart canuck.

  20. The energy board approves the prices based on the market demands. They have very little control over the actual prices, just the when and how they are distributed across the customer base.
  21. Ontario does not discriminate based on sex, women can go topless in public. There are however many places in the world, including Canada where discrimination based on sex is standard.
  22. Well, at least he doesn't eat babies like Harper.
  23. If you mean the Mike Harris Electricity Act of 1998 that made market based prices, I agree. Other than that, the government has very little effect on the prices other than subsidizing green energy (4-5% of your bill). and subsidizing like their dumb $34 rebate I just heard on the radio.
