We all do. At the right time. So that others before them didn't die in vain. And so we're not handing over a country to terrorists, who will once again plan and plot destructive attacks, which will once again require us and others, going back in. You may want us to do this all over again, but I don't!

Obama - Chicago Bleeds for You
Shady replied to jbg's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You're quite right, at least about him being giddy. I was too. I actually spit out some of my coffee when I saw the reaction of CNN's anchor to Chicago being eliminated first. I think he too thought that there's no issue or problem, Obama can't solve with his delightful charisma. Apparently the IOC didn't much care for his and Michelle's speeches, which were all about them. Self-centered egotistical people like that deserve to put in their place. -
Nope, you're the privileged type, who has the freedom to make up anything he wants, about people he doesn't know.
-
LOL, he believes that? Stop with the wild accusations, and especially the talking out of your ass. Please.
-
Nonsense. Although it doesn't suprise me that you and your ilk aren't daily readers of the National Post.
-
There's no need to instruct anyone on the environment. But if there were, Canada has a far better record than most. I'm sorry if that upsets you.
-
That's complete nonsense. The liberal media created Fox News. If the mainstream media had given conservatives a fair shake, there'd be no need, or demand for it. As for being paid off, the liberal "journalists" working on NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN and MSNBC get paid million dollar salaries. So who's paid off again?
-
Nope. It just shouldn't be an affirmative action award.

Obama 'snubs' Dalai Lama Mr Obama has said he will not meet the Dalai Lama, who is currently in the US, until after visiting China in November. But human rights activists and some US lawmakers accused Mr Obama of putting economic issues first. BBC So apparently Obama's foreign policy seems to be set on treating his friends like crap, while treating his enemies better than their friends. * Britain snubbed by Obama for whatever reasons. (sends ridiculous dvds as gifts, won't grant PM a side-by-side press conference.) * Israel snubbed to appease Middle East. (made speech in Cairo, skipped visiting Israel.) * Eastern European countries snubbed to appease Russia (have missle shield pulled,) * Honduras snubbed to appease Chavez, Castro, Ortega, etc (demands Honduras install former President who tried to circumvent the constitution and supreme court to change term limits.) * Dalai Lama snubbed to appease China. (won't meet with Dalai Lama as every President has over the last few decades.) This amateur's record is atrocious, and makes me sick to my stomach just thinking and writing about it.

Ignatieff to talk tax hikes, cost-cutting to kill deficit
Shady replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I really could care less about Kim Campbell, what she might have said 15 years ago, or what she did 15 years ago. Indeed. Ignatieff promises new cuts, new spending, but no details The Liberal leader said his party would cut government expenditures in a bid to rebalance the budget. But he offered no specifics about possible cuts Link If the American government is crippling it's own currency, there isn't much we can do to weaken ours, unless we want to follow their lead. But I know how concerned you are about spending, deficits and debt. Right? -
The more you guys post in this thread, the more it illustrates just how relevant she is, and will continue to be.

Ignatieff to talk tax hikes, cost-cutting to kill deficit
Shady replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Says the person who's party doesn't have anything remotely close to a platform! Details come during campaigns and elections. It's going to be difficult to keep the dollar from parity the way Obama is destroying the value of the American dollar. -
Again we see why the Liberals were wrong
Shady replied to punked's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
As long as these changes are rolled back when the economic environment is better. -
Ignatieff to talk tax hikes, cost-cutting to kill deficit
Shady replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Exactly. Just slowing the rate of growth will produce significant results. -
Copenhagen and Canada - it'll Devastate us
Shady replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Thankfully it appears that ration people in our federal government will prevent us from being dragged down by this farce. And not a moment too soon. Great piece from the BBC today. What happened to global warming? This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998. But it is true. For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures. And our climate models did not forecast it, even though man-made carbon dioxide, the gas thought to be responsible for warming our planet, has continued to rise. BBC The maddness must end! -
That's the spirit!

Bureaucrats objected to gov't ad campaign: sources
Shady replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That's the key phrase of the story. Career bureaucrat = career Liberal bureaucrat. And I'm not suprised they're upset. They no longer hold power, and have been quite bothered by it for quite some time. -
I was worried that Bush wouldn't survive his second term in office.

Canada's unemployment rate falls to 8.4%
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
From my link... The biggest jobs gains came in industries that have been hardest hit by the recession. Manufacturers added 26,000 workers last month, and the construction trade, which may have been boosted by federal stimulus money, picked up 25,000 workers, the second consecutive gain. Those are PRIVATE SECTOR JOBS. -
Canada's unemployment rate falls to 8.4%
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well, that can be said of any time someone is unemployed. Even when unemployment rates were at 5%, there is always some people who can't find work. But it doesn't mean things aren't getting better. That's not how the unemployment rate is calculated. -
It's a pretty sad day in our country, when a private citizen can't smoke in the truck that he owns. If it's considered a workplace, does he also have to provide wheelchair access to his vehicle? Just wondering.

When I first read the headline 'Obama Wins Nobel Prize', I seriously thought it was a story from The Ontion. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
-
OTTAWA - Canada's unemployment rate fell for the first time in nearly a year to 8.4 per cent last month, in perhaps the clearest indication the hard-hit labour market may be recovering sooner than expected. The September jobs pick-up of 30,600 was five times larger than the economist consensus forecast of 5,000 and - along with a slight decrease in the number of workers looking for jobs - helped drop the national unemployment rate by 0.3 percentage points. Link Looks like things are getting better. Please Iggy, engineer an election, I dare you!

Exactly. It's all part of his "Harper burned his toast this morning" throw-everything-at-the-wall-and-see-what-sticks strategy. He also likes to hold the other political parties to a much higher standard than his own Liberals. He's the classic political hack. But he's certainly entertaining.
