  1. When I first read the title of this thread, I thought that maybe Hamas was cracking down on itself. Dub's next topic: "Castro crackdown on Communist group."
  2. All one has to do is look at freedom and human rights in Christian countries, and compare them to the lack of the same freedom and human rights in Muslim countries. You can quote all of the bible versus you want. When it comes to the actual application of fundamental human rights and freedoms, there isn't a Christian country that exists today which has anything close to the deplorable record of Islamic states.
  3. That wasn't the original premise. Answering the new premise, yes, taxes for education, scientific research, etc, do have benefits. Although, one would have to subscribe to the theory that only government can provide education, scientific research, etc. Which obviously isn't true. However, it's the system that we're currently stuck with.
  4. Governments take money out of the economy. Filter it through a wasteful bureaucracy, and then push it back into the economy. That process has little to do with strong economies. Economies can exist on their own. Governments can only exist on the behalf of an economy. It's like me taking $50 dollars from your pay, then giving you back $40 dollars, and insisting that we're both dependent on eachother. Give it up guys. It's obvious that you leftwingers have absolutely ZERO knowledge of how business and economies work.
  5. And where do said entities get that money they spend? FROM THE ECONOMY. It's not wealth they've created on their own. All an economy needs from government is security, and the upholding of laws. However, government cannot exist without an economy to parasite from. It's FACT.
  6. Charlie Cook: Political Landscape Should 'Terrify' Democrats Top Washington Democrats are already worried about next year's midterms. (In fact, the WH has been quietly reaching out beyond its inner circle to come up with a strategy) Reading Charlie Cook today won't make them feel any better. No one knows Congressional elections better than Charlie, and he warns that 2010 could be a "wave" election. Here's the money quote from National Journal: "With 14 months to go before the 2010 midterm election, something could happen to change the outlook for Democrats. However, wave elections, more often than not, start just like this: The president’s ratings plummet; his party loses its advantage on the generic congressional ballot test; the intensity of opposition-party voters skyrockets; his own party’s voters become complacent or even depressed; and independent voters move lopsidedly away," writes Cook. "These were the early-warning signs of past wave elections. Seeing them now should terrify Democrats." More good news.
  7. No idiot. They're independent of government.
  8. Are you gonna post the pic or video of Obama bowing to him earlier this year?
  9. Looks like ABC News has also picked up on the Van Jones story... White House Declines to Say Van Jones Enjoys "the Confidence of the President" Asked if controversial White House official Van Jones continues to enjoy the confidence of President Obama given recent revelations about his involvement with those who suggest the Bush administration knew about the 9/11 attacks and allowed them to happen in order to justify a war for oil, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs Friday morning would only say "he continues to work in this administration." Jones, the Special Advisor for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, last night issued a statement apologizing for past controversial remarks and said a petition which he signed suggesting that President Bush "may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen" perhaps to justify war in Afghanistan or Iraq, "does not reflect my views now or ever." An administration source said Jones says he did not carefully review the language in the petition before agreeing to add his name. But this morning it became known that Jones was on the organizing committee of a 2002 march making similar insinuations and allegations. How long before Van Jones is throw under the bus ala Rev. Wright?
  10. Obama and just another one of his questionable friends...PIC
  11. Yep, and the police are on the hunt for the rabid Obama supporter. Believe it or not, but there's a slight difference in the law between to people getting into a fist fight, and someone biting another person's finger off. You've had quite the productive day today haven't you? You've continued to defend a communist truther who believes his government allowed 911 to happen, and you've defended somebody who actually bit off another person's finger.
  12. Nice link again. Was Huffington Post and Daily Kos down for a while?
  13. Of course economies fix themselves. It's pretty sad that your economic knowledge is so anemic. Economies can go into recession and come out of recession, by themselves. Why do I waste my time with you?
  14. More from Van Jones... Obama Advisor Van Jones: Republicans are "Assholes"
  15. 911 Truth Statement Respected Leaders and Families Launch 9/11 Truth Statement Demanding Deeper Investigation into the Events of 9/11 NEW YORK CITY, NY (Oct. 26, 2004) – An alliance of 100 prominent Americans and 40 family members of those killed on 9/11 today announced the release of the 911 Truth Statement, a call for immediate inquiry into evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11th attacks to occur. 9/11 Statement Signed by 100 Prominent Americans...guess who's number 47! Link 47. Van Jones, executive director, Ella Baker Center for Human Rights.
  16. No, it wouldn't. Not the way this stimulus was written. There was very little actual stimulus in the bill.
  17. I know you'rd rather make this about his sponsors than about Obama's wingnut Czars, who are apparently truthers. What do you fellow wingnuts have to say regarding that topic?
  18. *Breaking News* Van Jones is apparently also a truther. I'll provide the appropriate links as soon as possible.
  19. So you agree with my point that the so-called stimulus has had little to do with much? And to your second point...imagine if there was no such thing as inflation?
  20. Federal authorities failed to follow through on plans earlier this year to burn away highly flammable brush in a forest on the edge of Los Angeles to avoid the very kind of wildfire now raging there... Months before the huge blaze erupted, the U.S. Forest Service obtained permits to burn away the undergrowth and brush on more than 1,700 acres of the Angeles National Forest. But just 193 acres had been cleared by the time the fire broke out, Forest Service resource officer Steve Bear said. The agency defended its efforts, saying weather, wind and environmental rules tightly limit how often these "prescribed burns" can be conducted... Some critics suggested that protests from environmentalists over prescribed burns contributed to the disaster, which came after the brush was allowed to build up for as much as 40 years. "This brush was ready to explode," said Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich... "The environmentalists have gone to the extreme to prevent controlled burns, and as a result we have this catastrophe today."... Link Thank you wingnuts, for the death and massive destruction that's occured, because of your "love and protection" of the earth. How's that working out now?
  21. Why would I be convinced of something I didn't say? I said the deficit would shrink substantially with a growing, instead of shrinking economy. That's just basic math. Now, if the Feds just hold spending, and not grow spending over the next year or so, then yes, most, if not all of the deficit will be gone. Especially after 2011, when Canadians aren't as involved in Afghanistan.
  22. Well, the authorities are looking for the Obama supporter. The man who went all "Mike Tyson", and then ran off like the criminal he is.
  23. It is odd, considering barely any of the stimulus has been spent. However, what isn't odd, is that you lied in the title of the thread. The WSJ doesn't claim that we've been "saved by the stimulus." That talking point is from you. Complete nonsense. The stimulus isn't what's "keeping the economy afloat." Unless you're claiming that 60 billion dollars spent in a 13 trillion dollar economy is making a difference. That's like taking an eye dropper and claiming you've filled a pool, with a drop or two. Again, nice try Obama stenographer.
  24. They have been, and they will be, unfortunately. He's setup dismal long-term economic growth with his policies, instead of making tough decisions short-term. Because of his reckless spending now and what he projects over the next several years, interest rates will have to rise, in order to stem inflation. But if interest rates go up, he'll cut off any real economic growth and recovery. Not to mention his gargantuan budgets will continue to crowd out private sector recovery overall. He's the new Jimmy Carter. Without the sweater.
