  1. They're booking into February for Boosters. Today they made appointments open for 18+ This is the colossal Eff Up. Telling people to get boosters ASAP without the infrastructure to actually administer them.
  2. The media is saying 50%. By Christmas, Omicron will have completely supplanted Delta. I am really irritated by the narrative that this spike in cases will automatically lead to an overwhelming of the Healthcare system. If the vast majority of cases are vaccinated people under 40 then we shouldn't see a spike unless Omicron is appreciably more severe than Delta in terms of severe illness. Do you really have to be an MD to understand this?
  3. I got Moderna, actually.
  4. You have to dig deeper into this site. https://covid-19.ontario.ca/data/case-numbers-and-spread Under Cases by Vaccination you can view the stats per 100,000 and see that the unvaxxed arc is well above the the vaxxed and partially vaxxed arc. Unsurprisingly, cases for the 60-79 age group are almost exclusively from unvaxxed individuals. If you go down to cases by age you can filter out resolved and deaths and just look at active cases. Though maybe not 2/3 (that was a weak estimate by me, my apologies). Cases under 20 are double any other age group. I've uploaded screenshots.
  5. If you use a per capita calculation (like per 100,000) unvaxxed present double the caseload. Almost 20 cases per 100,000 vs 8 for unvaxxed. https://covid-19.ontario.ca/data/case-numbers-and-spread Oh, here I am being told that the vax restrictions are comparable to Nazi Germany and the Jews. Silly me. It's more targeted to places like indoor dining, gyms and other organized sports and theathre. No one is wearing masks in these environments. At least 2/3 of the active cases are amongst those under 20. So students. So I don't suspect we'll see a glut of people cramming the hospital. They don't specify report how many of each age group are vaccinated or, but I think it's a safe assumption many of the unvaxxed positive cases are in those under 30. So I'm not terribly worried. I do concede a gross level of panic porn from the MSM and public health officials. And my biggest fear is overbearing contact restrictions and closing businesses again.
  6. I can explain why. Unvaxxed are exponentially more likely to experience severe illness from the disease and clog up hospitals. The restrictions are limited. It's not like you're locked in your home.
  7. 2 reasons for that. 1) 80+% of the population is fully vaxxed. 2) Unvaxxed aren't really allowed to congregate in large public settings. ICU occupancy is still overwhelmingly unvaxxed. Protection against "infection" does wane. No one has denied it does.
  8. I think many consider the same about people afraid of a vaccine. Brainwashed by criminal-level disinformation.
  9. Again no one is being forced. Just ostracized as social pariahs. It's a good look on em. What's refreshing about Omicron is that the Anti-Vax crowd is being further marginalized. I'm here for it.
  10. It's not even "The System" as in Healthcare. School systems can't function if entire classes have to stay home because of one case. Work places will see reduced productivity if there's a spike in Omicron simply through absenteeism. We have to reach a comfort level that this type of virus won't cause large instances of severe illness. Early signs are promising, but who knows. We'll see by Christmas, I guess.
  11. I agree. We can double current ICU rate and still be fine. But the problem is when the trend goes up, you just can't reverse it on a dime. Cases are spiking exponentially right now, but once Omicron completely supplants Delta, hopefully we'll see a slowing there.
  12. I think we'll need to retain peak protection against infection for at least a year. Again, it's not mandatory. I don't see Booster availability being common until this wave is over. The truth is, you should want the booster simply to avoid getting infected and having to quarantine. Even if you aren't worried about severe illness.
  13. In a perfect world, the people who don't think Vaccination are some plot against our freedoms will get it, and that will be enough. And I hope for that. The majority of people are caught between the Anti-Vax crowd that think this all is a plot to take away our freedoms and the Public Health Doctors and panic fetish crowd that don't think any level of risk is appropriate. It's exhausting.
  14. It's good news. But the bad news is that early studies show Omicron has a historically high R0 for a respiratory virus. A lot people getting mild illness at the same time isn't good for any society. Which is why Boosters are a good idea.
  15. Well SYHTFOTW, your opinion doesn't track with the majority of Ontarian's. Though you won't get forced to get a vaccine, you'll face more restrictions. And other than bitching on a forum and protesting politicians homes, there's not a lot you can do about it.
  16. If we're talking Ontario specifically, reporters asked the top doctors yesterday specifically when 2 doses wouldn't count as full vaccination. He obviously didn't answer because you can't mandate something unless people can realistically expect to get the shot conveniently. I do believe that Omicron is an example of this virus becoming endemic. I don't think we'll see an overwhelmed hospital system this time. But protecting against infection is important, we're still treating COVID infections seriously. Most people got their second dose around 5 or 6 months ago. And all medical experts concede the effectiveness against infection wanes after 6 months. And if Omicron spreads like the cold, it could cause a lot of complications if infections spike. Getting a booster is a no brainer unless you're constantly afraid of government overreach or think they'll instantly kill you (like some posters here).
  17. Eventually, yeah. Unless you're an anti-vax loon, this is no big deal.
  18. They definitely have to ramp up capacity. That being said, over 100,000 doses administered yesterday. That's as good as what we saw in the Summer.
  19. Have you tried a different browser? No one used Internet Explorer anymore.
  20. He's on the road to re-election. He's realized the RoFo style of confrontation wouldn't get him through COVID and that his political bread is buttered by straddling the middle. He has no issue with kicking Anti-Vaxxers out of the party, unlike one bald federal leader, we all know.
  21. I will concede the MSM should STOP freaking out about case totals. We knew these figures would go up, It's cold and flu season. Hospitalization has remained remarkably stable in Ontario.

Wow people are getting to know they are being duped by the media exaggerating things, even on the Left of repolitics. I'm impressed.

Restores my faith in humanity. Not really...

  22. The State of Michigan is reporting its highest rate of Hospitalization of the pandemic. The fully vaccination rate is 59%.

Yet Florida is still doing well, with similar coverage and twice the population. There must be more to it than vaccination rates.

Michigan has been far more restrictive, while Florida has been permissive.

The total number of infections to date for Michigan is 1.5 M, while Florida is at 3.8 M. That's a lot more people infected who may have acquired natural immunity.

Can we connect the dots on that? Maybe, maybe not.

It's also not freezing right now in Florida.

As opposed to the summertime where Florida is sweltering and people gather in Air Conditioned areas. That's when you see seasonal spikes in Southern States.

  23. You didn't consider that, in some areas, these things are actually investigated properly and numbers don't jive with the Gospel Truth you ascribe to VAERS.
  24. It's the only source you can continually go to. I even showed you a source from Ontario showing actual investigated figures on Vaccine reactions you ignored.
  25. You wanna cite that? He's saying what he's saying. It's a lot more serious than a child dying instantly from the vaccine. If I was a parent I wouldn't be so passive about something like that.
