  1. Like they were supposed to lose to Pittsburgh?
  2. So what costs more money for the city? Rob Ford having a security detail or police to keep having to come to his house.
  3. 316 yards 31.6 average yards per pass 31.6 ratings at the game's height It has to be Jesus People are just having fun with this. The vast majority of people don't really believe God is pulling the strings on the game. But the storyline is no-less compelling. He continually has miraculous wins, then plays absolutely horrible the last two games of the season. When no one thinks he's worth anything, he does that to the #1 pass defense in the league. Christian element or not, it's a fascinating story.
  4. I think the way the team has rallied around Tebow as opposed to say, Kyle Orton shows that he's likely not seen by his teammates as some religious freak. The one instance given really doesn't prove he's always telling people on his team what they should do because he has a wifi connection to God's wishes.
  5. I'll be the first to concede the death of a politician only months after he took his party to where no one ever has is indeed tragic. I was taking issue with the week long grief fest that followed by people who never knew the man. That's not isolated to Jack Layton, we've seen things like this often recently whether it be Michael Jackson, Princess Diana or whether it just be someone at a school that dies and the grief counselor have to be sent in.
  6. Cancer smack is always refreshing.
  7. The MSM feeds the Tebow monster because it's clearly what people want. Even Lady Gaga tweeted about Tim Tebow. The reason the Steeler v Broncos game got the best spot of the weekend isn't because the Steelers are the defending AFC Champs. It was because people want to see Tebow. Most thought the game was going to be a blowout. The fact that was a classic just adds more fuel to the Tebow fire. Tebow is making a lot of people money because he's popular and polarizing. Just like the Yankees and the Patriots. I watch them because I want to see them lose. Advertisers don't distinguish between those things. The Leafs usually get most of the nation on HNIC because they get the most ratings even if you hate them.
  8. I remember people were defending Pierre Trudeau's POS blast because Peter Kent is clearly a POS. Well my thesis is that this kid is clearly a Jack Ass.
  9. So pron, pwn, epoch, are leet but tonite isn't? He also used "ur" that has to be leet. If not leet at least it's internet speak like LOL and OMFG.
  10. His Blondness David Miller said that if people have legal guns in their homes people will likely steal them.
  11. He says "I'd like to thank my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" at the onset of just about every interview I've seen. Then again, so do rappers and country music star when they win awards. If that makes people uncomfortable it isn't Tebow's problem. Other than that I don't really see him Proselytizing in the MSM unless prompted.
  12. Taking a knee and praying in public or "Tebowing" is inappropriate. Only religious freaks do it. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-od-F8_IwnT4/Twotjxh7spI/AAAAAAAAFQk/orkZEhqOBsg/s1600/ben%2Broethlisberger%2Btebowing.jpg
  13. I see a few typos in this post. Clearly you aren't Federal Minister material.
  14. And different doctrine, dogma and different saviour.
  15. I bet if he did Muslims in the West would certainly love it. Are you expecting Christians to have the same reverence for a Muslim athlete compared to a Christian athlete? Sort of like how Canadians cheer for the Phoenix Suns because of Steve Nash. Or how the Seattle Mariners are big in Japan because of Ichiro or how the Houston Rockets were huge in China because of Yao Ming. I know that nationality and not religion but the comparison still works.
  16. So you only want current examples of outwardly religious athletes? http://www.totalprosports.com/2011/06/20/9-devoutly-religious-athletes/ Kurt Warner, Josh Hamilton and Kurt Shilling are fairly recent examples. Heck Tebow is only 8th on that list. Deon is pretty front and centre in sports world because of his work on the NFL Network. He's probably the best guy on there. I didn't even know Hakeem Olajuwon was Muslim .
  17. That was the initial intent of it. But look there's even an entire Library. http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leet
  18. Well leet speak is all about purposely misspelling words for whatever reason. tonight = tonite. own = pwn or qwn
  19. So you really think he is unable to properly spell the word "tonight"
  20. http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1113015--cohn-lcbo-s-pricing-policy-doesn-t-add-up?bn=1 I effin' hate our Provincial government.
  21. It's Twitter. It's actually pretty cool that a Federal Minister is up on Leet speak.
  22. Payne Stewart was a popular golfer before dying in a plane crash. I was all about the WWJD craze. I don't remember pushback from him. His win over Lefty in the '99 US Open was one of the rather coolest moments in recent golf history. Of course not involving Eldrick.
  23. http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1112938--clement-sorry-for-calling-teen-a-jackass?bn=1 http://media.thestar.topscms.com/images/3a/3f/4c341d64445b8038415d31ad3ba7.jpeg What a petulant little brat. "I'm so politically engaged that I'm going to correct the spelling of a public official!" Is this what this kid really wants his 15 minutes of fame be all about?
  24. Neither party has a serious leader so this move is perplexing. Should the Liberals elect a serious person leader and the NDP elect some idiot, I can see this happening. I could also see some of these NDPers going to the Bloc should the separtist winds start blowing in a different direction.
  25. Well there's an example of a Muslim athlete that America grew to love: Mohamed Ali. Now I'm sure there were people that hated Ali because he converted to Islam or that he was black or that he didn't go to Vietnam. But in a nation that probably was far more religious than it is now. Ali was the most revered American Athlete. I don't think people would like Tebow because of his following of Islam, but if he was a stand-up guy and won I doubt the public would care. I remember There was a Dolphins running back in the 90's named Karim-Abdul Jabbar. Named after the Basketball player. I didn't care if he was Muslim, I just cared that he led the league in Rushing TDs.
