  2. It wasn't silent. Reports said there was a rhythmic slapping sound.
  3. No evidence of this. Believe what you're going to believe but the only thing that Ford admitted was that he dropped an F-bomb because he was frustrated, He didn't berate the officer, however, according to the Chief of Police and the OPP commissioner. BTW had the CBC ombudsman not piped in a few weeks ago, this story would be dead.
  4. Sort of like how People that are PRO Life are anti-choice. I'm sorry but attaching the stigma of "Stupid" onto ideals of a political party are pretty divisive.
  5. See this is the problem when you buy a pure-bred dog. What type of mutations had to be bread into a dog to get them as small as a Matlese? Can they even give birth on their own?
  6. So if I believe that Abortion is "Evil" and I say that any party that supports Abortion is Evil. What am I saying about the followers of said party?
  7. LOL OMFG WTF That better?
  8. It's interesting the column calls Conservatives stupid. It just attacks certain things Tony Clement has done. It's not a comprehensive damning of what the CPC has done in it's 6 years in power. It's just nitpicking a few things. Calling people with differing political views stupid says more about the author than the people the author is talking about.
  9. Apparently he lost 10 lbs this week. I hear when you're obese like that the first weight loss is the easiest part.
  10. That's the reality for a vast majority of Canadians. It's only in the Public Sector where workers and unions can hold their defacto shareholder's hostage.
  11. How high exactly? I'd venture to say your chances of dying in Rexdale or Downtown Winnipeg are greater. Mexico is a large country. It's like if a Canadian was killed in Detroit and someone saying why do people continue to go to the US. People go to Mexico every week and return safely. The Mayan Riviera is a tourist's wonderland. This guy who got shot last week was in a drug cartel town, why was he there? In this instance this woman was injured in a resort but other than that Italian couple from Woodbridge that got killed in their rooms years back I don't hear of many deaths in tourist areas. Is there any part of the Carribean or Latin America you do suggest is safe to go to?
  12. Except for Public Servants who will just demand that tax rates increase to make up the difference. Perhaps Kodak should have purchased the Leafs.
  13. So Havana Club is premium? I remember getting a bottle from my dad when he went there. Wasn't blown away but then again my tastes have evolved since then. I'd rather drop large amounts of money on a single-malt scotch then a premium rum though. I love Captain Morgan Spiced Rum too.
  14. Mark Ferguson calls the provision re-distribution. It just basically means if you have tenure over anyone that person gets bumped regardless of what they do. Or at least that's what I'm told. I've heard Doug Holiday say on the radio that this provision makes it almost impossible for the city to make any decisions about staff levels, hours etc without having to fight the union at every turn.
  15. Which would be hilarious because in the burbs I get Recycling/Compost every week and the rest every other week. Our services are contracted out though.
  16. The fact they refused to close those daycare centres is mind-boggling. If the spots are just going to be moved to other daycares then keeping them open is the definition of gravy.
  17. Do you have evidence the informant was the 911 operator? No one knows anything about the source.
  18. http://www.newstalk1010.com/News/localnews/blogentry.aspx?BlogEntryID=10339487 So either two high ranking police heads are lying to back up Rob Ford or the CBC went to press with unsubstantiated claims about the 911 call.
  19. We had a little bit of snow yesterday so because of this thread I took note of which sidewalks had been cleared and which ones had not. Sideroads tended not to be cleared by a plow (You can tell because you can see the track impressions of the plow) But there are areas that need to be cleared because they aren't in front of people's houses that lots of people use.
  20. What about public sidewalks? You know the sidewalks on commercial areas, They would never get plowed if not for the city. There are also apartment buildings on residential areas that have sidewalks too.
  21. I'm sure people in poor communities want snow removed on their sidewalks too. Ultimately it's an issue of public safety to remove snow and salt during snowfalls.
  22. That's one of the more odd things I've ever read. Those machine's provide public safety. You need "men's toys" to build daycares, schools and pools. You need "men's toys" to farm food you feed to children. The TTC uses "men's toys" so I guess, in your world, that's a perfectly fine thing to cut then.
  23. So the province gave the go-ahead to lockout 416 in 17 days. http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1118145--toronto-city-workers-lockout-possible-in-17-days-after-no-board-report?bn=1 416 is reportedly dropping half a mil on TV ads.
