The happiest countries in the world list
Boges replied to stopstaaron's topic in The Rest of the World
If Scandinavia was so awesome, why don't more people live there? -
I think we've seen a whole bunch of that in Ontario.

The problem with this case isn't with Zimmerman or Martin. Crime happens all the time, more black people kill other black people than white or hispanics do. If this guy was arrested then this issue wouldn't have gone as far as it has. That being said, people on both sides of this debate sound like absolute idiots. Apparently Spike Lee tweeted the address of a George Zimmerman. Of course not the one in question, some elderly guy guy that's now getting death threats.

Yeah because McDalton is so receptive to people in Rural Ontario that don't vote for him that don't want wind mills next door to them. He said that these power plants were going to be needed and the pain had to be shared.

New poll shows NDP tied with conservatives
Boges replied to WWWTT's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well considering they just released a budget that riled up both the far-right and far-left of the political spectrum. It would appear they're doing an excellent job of governing from the centre, where most of the votes are. -

Apparently even a Liberal report supports the Horse racing job claims. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/story/2012/03/30/wdr-horse-racing-reoprt-disputes.html -
I hope pandering to a Liberal riding was worth it Daddy Dalton. http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1154519--province-being-sued-over-cancelled-mississauga-electrical-plant Worst Premier EVAH!!!!!

Using sites like tomorrowsgaspricetoday.com can know what the price of gas will be tomorrow. I already know the price will drop for Saturday. It the prices goes up significantly, like it did this week, you can bet there'll be line ups at gas bars everywhere.
-
Well gas is pretty spensive there. When gas goes up 2 cents here there are lineups at the Gas Station the night before.
-
I posted that before I found out. Chill.
-
Didn't it come out that many of the reports about Foxconn have turned out to be false?
-
Some examples? Some things may have similar prices but the thing about Wal Mart is it's a one stop shop. I can get a pair of shoes, Dog Food, a Screw drivers and a Roast all in one store.
-
OK they have a better selection of power tolls too.
-
I'm surprised Crappy Tire is still in business in markets where Wal Marts sell everything you can get there cheaper plus groceries, clothes, electronics and pharmaceuticals. I guess Canadian Tire does offer large appliances now, which Wal Mart doesn't so there's that. When I have gone to Canadian Tire I just put Can Tire money in the donation box inside the door.

You and I know that this won't happen. He's obviously pissed that by 2015 the OAS issue will be as useless an attack took as In and Out.

Just sayin' if you have the funds to pay off your CC bill there isn't really a downside as most provide nice rewards. I find having lots of cash on you gives one incentive to spend it on stupid stuff easier if you have to whip out a card. Not saying I don't use cash, just not a lot.
-
Which is why you pay it off on time like a responsible adult. CC's aren't a long-term loan. Open a Line-of-credit if you want that.

http://www.value4money.ca. Lots of information there about the value of horse racing. -
I never said ban cash, I take cash out to pay for Timmy's or when I go out with friends because it's easier to split the bill that way. Are children often buying gas and groceries? But to say that having to lose up to 3 cents on a transaction because pennies aren't being dispensed is some sort of hardship is rather hilarious. Regarding the US penny, I didn't hear them say they'd destroy the penny, they just won't make new ones.

And without that program those slots wouldn't be in racetracks in the first place, the government had to bribe the owners and horsemen. So perhaps they shouldn't have used that influx of cash to better the industry, should some idiotic premier come by and go back on the deal. I think the Ontario government could care less they have to close slots at tracks like Hanover or Clinton. But do you think they'll play hardball with Georgian Downs, Ajax, Sudbury and Woodbine? They'll need to give the track-owners a Vig to keep those slots there. And we'll also see what happens with the NDP. The NDP have come out against the OLG plan, so will they back up their talk and force the Liberals to back-off on their stance a bit? We'll see. -
Then use a credit card, like an adult, and pay it off every month.

The entire OLG is subsidized by degenerate gamblers. And their new OLG plan is attempting to create more of them. BTW where's your evidence in the "massive" drop in interest in horse racing. In that evidence you would have include a decline in Off Track Wagering and the fact people can bet on horse racing on their computer and at home. You're exposing your ignorance on how the system works. The slot-revenue sharing program provides an incentive for owners to invest in breeding, hiring trainers, and many other things that therefore goes into assisting the agricultural sector. Horse racing is the provinces second largest agricultural sector. Ontario's system is the envy North America because of this program. For every dollar the OLG give the industry it gets back four. There's no guarantee these "well-heeled" people that can afford to buy racehorses will get a massive payout, but that carrot keeps people investing and keeps many people employed. So yes the industry will survive the closure of this program because there still is interest in horse racing, especially at world-class tracks like Mohawk and Woodbine, but it won't create anywhere near the wealth for the province as it did before. It's the type of short-sighted nature of this government that will ultimately ruin Ontario. -

You don't read posts before you reply do you? "well-heeled folks" You think there the ones that care about this? There the ones that'll bail on the industry because it's not worth their investment and private sector jobs will go with it. And do you not believe that the industry pumps $1.1 billion plus into the provincial coffers or are you just ignoring that fact because it doesn't suite your incorrect opinion?
