I'm guessing he's referring to Mike Vick who was convicted for Dog Fighting. And Steeler QB Ben Roethlisberger was accused of raping two women. He was never charged though.
-
So you're basing your opinion of American Football on players who have been convicted of a crime? That's painting many people with a pretty broad brush wouldn't you say?

Sign me up. But we live in a world where cleaner often = more expensive, so there really is no incentive other than than a lower energy bill. But here in Ontario prices are going up regardless of your usage.

Transgender Discrimination in Canada
Boges replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
He already said that their ability to move on in the competition is irrelevant. The question here is just meeting the basic requirements. Sort of like if an open homosexual would try and receive Catholic communion. It may not be something they want, but the are just trying to expose some perceived bigotry. -
Transgender Discrimination in Canada

Would a rule banning anyone "transgendered" from competing be out of line? They are easy to define as an identifiable group. "This is a competition for only natural born women, who identify as a woman" That would do a round-a-bout from your logic argument would it not? Now I have no idea what the rules of who can enter this competition are, but I suspect after this story there may be a rule prohibiting the transgendered. -

You're playing logic arguements with olphan ERRR stopstaaron. You clearly haven't seen him debate in other threads. -

I doubt that person would get past the first round. Have you seen what Chastity ERRR Chaz Bono looks like? -
There are plenty of reasons not to like Soccer, as there are plenty of reasons not to like Hockey, Basketball, American Football or any sport. There's no objective standard for what makes a sport good or interesting. Again I would just say that a North American soccer fan using the sport's global appeal to somehow justify it's worth in this part of the world is wrong-headed IMHO. Not saying that's what you're doing here but some people do just that.

The "I know you are, but what am I" defense is always very effective. -
Then you should feel no need to participate in a thread where that occurs, since it clearly bores you. Just sayin'

Transgender Discrimination in Canada

The pics I've seen of this girl. You wouldn't be able to tell he/she was a male unless you had a closer look or he/she told you. I guess in a purely beauty/body/personality competition her gender of birth gives her no advantage. BUT transgendered people have tried to compete in women's sports where their genetics do give him/her an advantage. -
And as a spectator sport in a part of the world where there are a variety of choices, people find Soccer overwhelmingly boring. The OP and the sentiments of posters in this thread are just stating what they don't like about the sport. So what?
-
This response is understandable because you likely have low levels of testosterone. Most boys like watching violent stuff. Whether it be boxing, or MMA, or football, or violent movies/video games. Doesn't mean they'll grow up to be violent. Even Soccer isn't without its risk. Using your head to propel the ball isn't always safe. That's why some want kids to wear helmets playing the beautiful game. http://montreal.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20120225/mtl_headed_for_trouble_120225/20120301/?hub=MontrealHome

Well it could be that there's a fallacy in saying it's the "World's Game" on the merits of how compelling a sport it is. It's the world's game because anyone that can find a remotely round object the size of a human's head can play soccer. Sports that have global appeal tend to be simple games that require little equipment: Baseball, Cricket, Volleyball and Basketball are other examples.

That's the thing, my lights are off most of the time because the majority of my day I'm either asleep or not at home. Lights are a very small component of my carbon footprint. Is this PR stunt supposed to make me think about a world without electricity? What about home heat?

I don't believe those things were private. Especially the Twitter feed.
-
Well that's the just the first hit I got when I googled Trayvon Martin's Twitter Feed.
-
That's the spirit. Violence will get people to drive less.
-
I think this case is different. There's a 911 call that shows Zimmerman was in no danger and he followed Martin. It also highlights a law in Florida where you can shoot people if you "feel threatened" He still hasn't been charged And US Conservatives have made things worse by making the fact Trayvon was wearing a hoodie a contributing factor. Sorta like the argument that a rape victim had it coming because of what she was wearing. They've even gone to his alleged Twitter feed to highlight the fact he wasn't a good kid. http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/26/the-daily-caller-obtains-trayvon-martins-tweets/

Well the NDP could very well vote against this budget. I hope they do.
-
You know your party has absolutely zero fiscal credibility when you have to resort to fear-mongering about social issues.
-
More unsubstantiated claims with lots of fear-mongering sprinkled in. That shit didn't work preventing Harper elected to a majority. BTW when does Rob Ford talk about his religious convictions?
-
That's an active imagination you got there.
-
I bet those steaks weren't organic, grain-fed, locally sourced. He's clearly a heathen.

Again all issues the Feds deal with. You don't understand this polytick thing much do you? BTW how are you going to tax assisted suicide? Government run suicide machines? $100 is all you need to make all your pain go away!
