There's Google Talk that works a lot like BBM, plus you can use video if you'd like. And it does cost money, those messages need data, not a lot of data but you need data to make those words travel from one phone to the other.

Well RIM has to fit into their original niche then. I have family that doesn't live in Canada and they tell me that outside of North America, BB is still immensely popular. Probably because it doesn't require the juice and data that the super phones do. Also it's a secure network for vital information. But how much of the marketshare does that cover? If you're interested in cool apps, social networking and games BB isn't the phone for you. That being said there are some cool messaging apps that Android has that make it about as seemless as BBM.

That's why their marketing says. I like that ad with the Hip Hop DJ's that say they use BB instead of another smartphone because they need a tool. But it's total crap because a smartphone is only really as good as the apps you can download for it. And in that category RIM is failing miserably. I have a friend who was a BB fanboy. He even had a BB Torch and a Playbook. (You can't even get a Torch anymore from Rogers) He said he made the move to Android because it was taking so long to get BB10 up and running and the previews didn't make it look any better than what Droid is currently offering.

Watching this show with someone that's read the book is beneficial. I can find out what the producers thought to focus on that Martin didn't. But without knowing what's coming before it happens. Apparently those Dragons weren't stolen in the book. So I guess they needed some drama attached to Blondie going to the Warlocks house. Also the whole Tywin v Arya thing wasn't as big a part of the book as the show makes it I'm told. The dialogue between the two is fantastic. You have this guy who is supposed to be the ultimate antagonist other than perhaps Theon and Joffery and he's being served by the sister of his enemy. And she's becoming his friend. That was a really good scene.

That would be pretty daft to base your opinion of Canada on our Soccer team. Most immigrants still cheer for the country of their birth in International Soccer. Cricket is becoming increasingly popular in Canada.

In Europe it is. That's the most elite level of the sport. In North America, the version of pro soccer we get is left to Summer. And it's a far lesser version.

Call display is a big feature I want, but I don't care about voice mail. Why do I have to pay $70 for data and unlimited talk and text? I'm not a teenage girl, I'm married I live with the person I talk to the most. I'm sure someone here got something better but this plan is only $6 more than I was paying before so I'm pretty happy I was really tempted to go with WIND but I had a feeling their coverage was going to be a problem.

The reason Soccer has a high participation rate is because it's cheap to play and isn't terribly violent (except if you considering part of the game is to hit the ball with your head) Same reason people play it all over the world. Volleyball is number two, all you need is a net and a ball to play that sport. Most kids start their sporting life playing soccer. Doesn't mean they'll stick with it and be fans for life. I seriously doubt people will devout Sunday afternoons in the summer to Soccer like we do with Football in this part of the world.

Which is why I think parents like these are more about their own feelings and vanity than the welfare of their kids.

More to the point about the public sector job losses. The figure this month is 58k but it's closer to 80k private sector jobs created and 20k public sector jobs lost. That's a good thing.

Because more people started looking for work. Employment figures seem so unreliable because when it goes down people say it's because people stopped looking for work. There should be an index measuring employed people.

As a Conservative I'd say so. I think the public sector is bloated and a major strain in the economy. With the huge federal deficit some austerity is needed.
