And even if 100% of the power was generated from Coal, an EV uses a fraction of power the equivalent of several dozen litres of gasoline represents. So it would be worth it just to remove the wildly inefficient gasoline industry. Drilling, Refining, Transportation all before you put it in your car to burn it. The luxury of having thousands of litres of Gasoline a few kms from every home in Canada is wildly inefficient compared to delivering it directly to your home through electricity.

And I have to keep reminding you that this was because of AC use. Because of how hot it was. . . you know cuz of Climate change. Most EV users don't charge their cars in the middle of the day. They simply asked if people can refrain from charging their cars during peak periods. Most don't anyway. It's no biggie.
