ArriveCan to be dropped in a few weeks. https://www.cp24.com/news/feds-set-to-drop-arrivecan-app-ease-other-covid-19-border-restrictions-within-weeks-sources-1.6076438 But yeah. LOCKDOWNS ARE COMING!!!!! The problem with COVID deniers is that their narrative is built on widespread government control and over-reach. When restrictions are lifted and we move back to normal, it goes against their hysterical narrative. So they have to keep up the fear.

*you're I have not surrendered anything to you. When you post this, it's refreshing because it shows you have nothing left.
-
Well we're moving past it, as a society. It's actually the Convoy Crowd that's quaking in fear or Government over-reach that doesn't really exist. Snowflakes!
-
This was seen in many communities in the early days of the pandemic. Remember Hospitals having to bring in refrigerated trucks to keep excess bodies. Well as long as you haven't, nothing to see here.

Darwin Strikes Again....

We've seen power issues in places that don't invest in their grid. And I know you have reading comprehension problems, but where we've seen energy troubles are places experiences extraordinary heat and draught due to climate change. As well as increased AC usage to compensate. Using less fossil fuels will assist the situation. We shouldn't cling to this inefficient ICE engine, it's a dinosaur. -

Regarding ACs. A Central Air Unit does about 3.6kwh. https://www.knightplumbing.ca/blog/how-much-does-air-conditioning-cost-per-month/#:~:text=A window air conditioner with, translates to approximately 1.8 kWh.&text=At the end of a,conditioner will cost about %2435.60. Stage 2 EVs usually max out at 7 Kwh. So double an AC. . . BUT you're charging that for max 6 hours at night once every 2 or 3 days based on usage. With an AC you're using during peak periods for much longer throughout the day. So I don't see EVs as some extraordinary threat to collapse the grid. -

Who's scrapping anything? I still own a Hybrid-Electric car. We're in a transition period. But those that have transitioned are overwhelmingly happy with their decision. Demand for EVs, right now, far exceed supply so this world where grids will collapse because of so much off-peak demand is far off. -

Why would I screw American people? Is using lots of Gasoline a patriotic duty now? -
He didn't mandate staying home. The Provinces did. It was the provinces who were saying people could only be home with people that live in their "family bubble". Not the feds. And again, where have the Feds even come close to dictating a 90% vaccination rate? Sure it'd be great, for them. It's not happening though. I may get this Omicron Booster, we'll see, but I didn't get my fourth booster most younger people didn't. I just read ArriveCan will likely be scrapped. You guys have won, but you just want to live in a world of perpetual fear of government. You're no different than the people wearing masks in a park.

It's not evidence. You're making the claim that many EV drivers are needing a tow. What's you're evidence beyond "I'm hearing things" Mr. Trump. It's funny, people using the Grid for transportation purposes. OMG!!! How will we cope. People using the grid to have a comfortable home temperature. . . Human Right. These electricity emergencies in the US are caused by ACs, not EVs. From experience, I use about as much hydro on the AC in the summer as I do charging my EV. But I can charge the EV at night when it's much cheaper. -
What lockdowns can he implement short of declaring some sort of Martial Law. If he had any intention of using 90% as a metric, he'd have mandated a 3rd dose long ago. The Vaccine Records are also distributed by the Province, not the Feds.
-
See this is where you lose credibility. Many nations have similar travel restrictions as Canada, including the US. And almost all social restrictions have long since been ended by the Provinces. And those hired goons are police. The protestors had held that part of Ottawa hostage for the better part of a month. Doug Ford did the same thing to stop these terrorists from blocking the Ambassador Bridge. You still not have demonstrated how JT has mandated vaccines beyond the initial 2-doses in relation to international travel.

Boges replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Then it's a useless anecdote. The only difference from someone with an ICE vehicle running out of gas is that you can't walk to the Gas station with a Jerry Can. And you shouldn't have to get towed with an EV either if you plan your trip well. Well that's what caused the hydro surge in the OP, not EVs. As mentioned to you, most EV owners charge at night an use up surplus base load that would have been generated anyway. -
I'm just asking. During the Pandemic, it's been the Province that's shut businesses down. "You People" are creating a narrative that the PM can shut the economy down if 90% of the public don't get their boosters. That's not based in reality.
-
Explain how the Feds can "Lock" people down? Martial Law? Emergencies Act?
-
I think he's encouraging vaccination. But there has been no outward pressure to "enforce" boosters. It's been 9 months since I got my last booster, no one is telling me I need another one, and no further restrictions for not keeping up with COVID vaccination. There's still an unknown element going into the winter. Will numbers spike again? Who knows. So officials will still encourage vaccination. I don't think you're in Ontario, but the PC leader trounced the Liberal in the recent election. The Liberal leader has the stupidity to pledge that he'd make COVID vaccines part of the School Immunization requirements. That single announcement alone likely lost him the election. https://ontarioliberal.ca/ontario-liberals-will-add-covid-19-vaccines-to-list-of-universal-school-shots/

Check the charger infrastructure near you. https://www.plugshare.com/ Stage 3 charging can be done in under and hour, in most cases under a half an hour. So yeah if you're trying to get some place as fast as possible, it doesn't beat Petrol. But it's not that far off. You're likely having a piss and getting some coffee if you're on a road trip anyway. -
Darwin Strikes Again....
Boges replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Why should the infrastructure have to mimic Gas Stations. Most EV owners will charge at home. Occasionally use a free public charger because it's there. Stage 3 chargers exist for road trips, and they work pretty well. The infrastructure should be focused on Rest stops where people can easily charge for long distance trips. Then we'd need to incentivize condos and other aggregate settings where people don't have private parking to include Stage 2 chargers. How about a car that can easily beat that dinosaur in a race. -

Boges replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Are they? Cite? The infrastructure is your Garage. If you drive more than 200 miles a day, maybe EVs aren't for you yet. But it's feasable for a vast majority of car owners. If the Grid is to be taxed, It'll be because of Air Conditioning due to rising temperatures. -
Actually Google makes IRL location a priority in deciding how to funnel searching in your direction. These Tech Companies emphasize hyper local content. Services creating fake/virtual addresses is a cottage industry.
-
It's not my wish. You talk about reading comprehension. I've said over and over again that I believe vaccines, in its current form, has served its purpose. It serves little value right now. It was designed for a 2+ year old version of this disease. You talk about fear porn? Your fear of government over-reach, at this point, is not based in any form of reality.
-
If the vaccine hysteria some are portraying, is reality, then where is the vax mandate for those under 5? Shouldn't that have been implemented immediately. And obviously we're only considering international travel or some federal employment standards. Not being able to go to a restaurant or play an organized sport.
-
Have you seen the uptake on 3rd boosters? It's like 50-60%. Despite some demanding that the definition of fully vaxxed be with a single Booster. It hasn't happened.
-
Yeah I'm sure a source would show up on a Google Search. ? Can you cite a single mandate that dictates that people have to get a COVID booster every 3-6 months. I could get the Omicron one. That would be 9+ months after my booster. But that's my choice.
-
Did the PM tell people to stay home? It was the Premiere of each Province. Of all political stripes, BTW. You had US states that refused, and interestingly those were the ones with the highest death rates deep into the pandemic.
