Darwin Strikes Again....
Boges replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Because these aren't tangible things, they aren't seen as costs. It's easy to put your head in the sand and say that Climate always changes. But in reality, most of the developed world concedes it's something to be dealt with. Even PP will have to concede something has to be done about Climate Change if he hopes of getting elected. -

You're free to decide the the brutal autocrat is correct here. So what narrative are you going with? 300,000 conscripts is a lot for an army doing well to achieve their objectives. -

That would indicate you do have a shred of evidence, which you don;t. Except Russia is the invading force here. They're the ones being encircled by a domestic force. They're the one using poorly trained conscripts to guard their flanks. They're the ones that tried to gobble up territory as fast as possible only to relinquish it soon after. -

Yes. Like with a lot of the issues going on right now, Society has struggled to ramp back up post Pandemic. I'm sure Oil companies are happy to reap profit, as opposed to re-investing in infrastructure and human resources. -

He wants them to increase production because the price of Oil is Global. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-61188579 -

I'm not even denying your claim. Just wondering how it plays into the insane military strategy seen by the Russians so far. -

Much like all those Russian Conscripts Putin is going to be throwing into the flames. You don't need a rifle, the man infront of you has one! -

The US is already energy independent. You've shown you really have no capability to rationally discuss this without entering conspiracy territory. You can cry all you want about Fossil Fuels. The developed world has pledged to move away from them. Cry all you want about it. But don't suggest a move to Electric Vehicles is individually a financially prudent move. -

I'm just looking for more information on said Germ Labs. How do they factor into the shitty military strategy seen by the Ruskies? -
Darwin Strikes Again....

Where are these mysterious Germ Labs? He's calling up 300,000 conscripts because of a germ lab? He's calling for elections to annex territory, because of Germ Labs? -

Just happens that prices spiked this winter after the invasion. But it's all because of EVs and pledges for 2035. You're having a fever dream. ? -

Oh, so that's why Putin is doing this? ? -

So you're denying the instability caused by this war is effecting Fossil Fuel prices? -
Darwin Strikes Again....
Boges replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
So you're Pro Putin. I'll keep that in mind when considering your opinions reasoned. The prices we're seeing right now are 100% a result of instability caused by Putin. Now he's threatening Nukes because he's losing. OPEC is also cutting production because Profit is better than actually trying to meet demand. I won't disagree that Western Europe has been foolish to rely on Putin for their Energy needs. But that is the bed they have to make for themselves. They'll be on the front-lines should Ukraine Fall. -
Thinks are looking bleak for Putin. He's calling up Conscripts. All for a "Special Military Operation". https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukraine-marches-farther-into-liberated-lands-separatist-calls-urgent-referendum-2022-09-19/ Russians are fleeing as not to be drafted into the firing squad. So he'll stage fake elections, declare these regions part of Russia, and if Ukraine tries to take the regions back he'll Nuke them for invading Russia. Those are clearly the actions of someone who's "winning the war". ?

The crappy situation is being aggravated by the A-Hole in Moscow. Carbon Taxes lightly encourage energy consumption, but the prices we're seeing now is due to instability caused by Russia. -

Not Natural Gas. I like how all the Anti EV people fret about Lithium and Cobalt mining but mining the Tar Sands are God's work. We should move away from Fossil Fuel for transportation. Using it for Home Heating and Electricity will take a bit longer. -
Darwin Strikes Again....
Boges replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
All the infrastructure is in place to deliver electricity to homes as well. It's a transition period. I'll say again, even if everyone could afford an EV, the supply is not there yet. This will be a slow transition. But you're seeing more and more every day. How is it an insane rush? We're talking about goals over a decade away. -
Conversely, JT beat the CPC leader last spring mostly because he was Chummy with Anti-Vaxxers and Celebrated defeating COVID during the Summer with Jason Kenney. During the election Alberta was the epicentre for COVID in Canada.
-
I don't think the Feds are listening to Convoyers. They're probably listening to travellers who hate these useless restrictions clogging up airports. The general public is most certainly fatigued with COVID. I would oppose any further restrictions. But I'm not going to camp-out in Ottawa and hold people Hostage. I just won't be likely to comply. Doug Ford won an election in the Spring, he was likely helped by his even-handed approach to Pandemic. He implemented restrictions when he had to, but lifted them when they weren't really required anymore. His opponent wanted to force School children to get the vaccine.
-
BTW, this is not what this thread is about. If you think COVID was a scam, God Bless You. But who cares what you think? The question is, is the "Pandemic Over" from a medical perspective or a political one.
-
You contend that a COVID Death is a rare outlier. But you don't even accept that a COVID death is a COVID death. So even if one could easily demonstrate that instances of premature death due to an acute disease rose from 2020 to early 2022, you wouldn't accept the premise.

What an insane allegory. Whatever keeps your conspiracy brain moving.
