  1. I'm open to hybrids. My other car is a hybrid and is very good. But the current PHEV selection is very poor. Most are just normal ICE vehicles with a battery for weight and don't provide much in the way of the Electric only range. It is an emerging technology which is why I'll lease this one, as to not lock myself into a car that may be quite out-of-date by the end of the decade.
  2. My EV got in a bad accident and I'm going to have to get a replacement. I'll be getting a significant upgrade. A Cadillac that gets almost 500 kms of range. Fast charges at about 150 kwH. I'll only lease it, because I anticipate way more advanced Chinese EVs will be available in the next few years, especially if 45/47 tries to erode the Canadian auto industry. I love driving electrified cars. I've hated having an ICE sedan rental as the insurance process goes through.
  3. This is very GTA-centric topic, but it's an interesting development in the Toronto traffic debate. A much more tangible solution than tunnelling under the 401. Since March the 407, the extraordinarily expensive toll road that crosses the top of the Toronto region, has offered customers free use during rush hour. I've just been informed my promotion now runs until the end of August. It only works for the rush-hour period in the morning and evening. But this is, by far, the most expensive time to use the highway. Using the 407 can save me up to 40 minutes from using the 401 during rush hour. I have to wonder if the province is footing the bill for this promo. And maybe it could become permanent. It makes sense, it only takes the pressure off the 401 during peak periods and only customers that rent transponders can take advantage of this promotion. It's better than the idea I've heard from people to allow large trucks to use the 407 for free. I still have to pay to use it during off-peak periods. The 407 is a dream to bypass traffic, but it's way to expensive for most drivers to use it regularly. I have to think this could be a decent fix for the GTA's traffic problems.
  4. Dunno. It certainly not something I'd consider eating. But maybe future generations will feel differently.
  5. Leaves are looking good.
  6. An American Pope? So now communion will consist of Bud Light and a Hot Dog

  7. They can taste like whatever. I think it's just not a familiar type of food for us.
  8. Lobsters, shrimp and crabs are essentially sea bugs, just sayin' Focusing on poultry instead of red meat will help with emissions, for sure.
  9. Blanket tariff policies seem way more socialist than free market. It most certainly will stifle innovation.
  10. The US is on the verge of running out of consumer goods. Their consumer confidence is at its lowest point since COVID.
  11. It's easy for one to research Carney's track record for themselves. Heck Stephen Harper seems to like him. https://www.facebook.com/reel/972183595073107
  12. PP couldn't pivot. He built the entire narrative around a Carbon tax and JT. Once those things were removed from the equation, he didn't have much. But he did have a long track record of Trumpist rhetoric that rubbed people the wrong way.
  13. Bro blew a massive lead. It could be considered one of the biggest political collapses in Canadian history. At least he has his pension to fall back on.
  14. It's ironic that much was made of Jagmeet Singh's pension, when it's also PP that may be able to draw from his.

That was such a hollow message….  as if Poilievre had declined to take a pension or something.

The Conservative propaganda machine needs some new people.  Their ideas are so stale.

Plus, they attacked the wrong guy!  They needed the NDP to do well if they wanted to win!  😆

  15. I saw somewhere on Twitter someone suggesting the NDP rigged the election. I guess by not voting for the NDP and splitting the vote like they normally do.
  16. Carney is a different leader than JT. He's a strong economic mind. I trust his insights over PP's the now private citizen whom leads the CPC.
  17. If the CPC can't get behind policies that help diversify Canadian investment then they're in opposition with the desire of Canadians. The goal here is to weather and protect ourselves against an erratic POTUS that seems more inclined to watch the world descend into chaos than unite anyone. In his short time as PM, Carney seems to be handling this issue with confidence and poise. That's why his party got my vote.
  18. But only if the Liberals won. If PP won, she's on her own. 🤣
  19. You seem so rich, maybe you should help your emotional daughter out.
  20. I think we'll be back in an election in 2027, when? if? The GOP get decimated in the mid-terms and Trump's ability to be Trump is neutered. If he makes it that long. Right now PP can't escape being a Canadian version of Trump. If the CPC is smart they'll try and look to unite for the good of the country. The country has spoken. This is not time for temper tantrums, like I saw from that Ontario MP Jamil Jivani.
  21. When an incel shoots up a school, in the US, is that an act of terrorism?
  22. Yes. Those "Left-wing lunatic" judges stepped in to ensure due process. Trump has also said he'd want to send Citizens to this El Salvador Gulag.
  23. Sure. The law makes mistakes, that's why due process exists.
  24. The US constitution doesn't specify that due process is only set aside for citizens. But you bring up a good point. The narrative that non-citizens can be shipped off to a gulag without due process is an excellent reason to stay away from the United States. Which is a big reason why their tourism sector is tanking.
