  1. It's cool to see US arms makers stocks tank and European arms makers flourish. Trumpers are too stupid to realize that they've been sending money that stays in the US by supporting Ukraine. Sending US arms makes Americans money. But that's socialism I guess. 1930's style isolationism didn't work for the US. The one time America was Great is when it reached out to the rest of the world. Trump is doing the opposite of MAGA.
  2. First, they ganged up on a world leader for simply pointing out that there was a peace agreement in place and Putin ignored it. Vance said this shouldn't be litigated in front of the media. Basically saying that they should be able to lie with impunity and it's rude to tell the truth. Second, is he? Has he said he'd put US boots on the ground to secure Ukraine? I heard the alcoholic he has running the DoD speculate that the US would pull all their troops from Europe. Third, on Saturday he said that Zelensky has to be nice to Putin. The guy who invaded his country. That's like saying Churchill has to be nicer to Hitler Fourth, Trump and Vance have both questioned the usefulness of NATO. The US has led the organization. But that's by design. They want the influence. Trump appears to seek isolationism. Why would he want to send troops to Poland or Estonia if Putin invaded those NATO members?
  3. Losing 3 seats doesn't change the dynamic much. I guess it would have been nice to extend the majority. But getting a 3rd majority is a big deal in Canadian politics. Liberals call snap elections all the time.
  4. If the EU and Canada commit to a Peacekeeping force, which is what caused Trump and Vance to have their little hissy fit on Friday. Peace could be had. We've gone three years without risking any NATO lives, but with the Trumpers now completely compromised by Russia, the rest of the EU and/or NATO need some skin in the game. At this point I would suggest Article 5 of NATO isn't protecting anyone.
  5. You really expect us to believe that the separatist fighters weren't Russian backed? Take that type of propaganda to a US site, Bot!
  6. Looks like the Carolinas need to improve their forest management.

The early spring is aways dry in the Carolinas, and that often leads to fire warnings, and the odd forest fire. The lack of humidity is the culprit but I imagine forest management could be better, but in a few weeks that won't be an issue anymore.

Plus, there is a large system moving in from the west, so hopefully most of the fires will be extinguished.

  7. Part of me is convinced he's doing this all for the rhetoric. If he doesn't follow through on the tariffs next week, it'll be clear he's using them as a tool to extort people not an economic tool. US exporters already have to be feeling the pinch coming from the active avoidance of American products Americans have done.
  8. Just in! Trump signs an EO officially naming Measles Freedom Sores.

Due to the renaming of measles, Doug Ford calls another election in Ontario.

  9. it's almost like there are no easy answers. I can guarantee you that forcibly removing 2 million Arabs from their homeland will only increase the chance of continued terrorism. And if Trump wants to secure his theme-park for Murika. That means it'll be American lives at risk for a addled old man's troll job. It'll never happen. Nor will Canada become a US state. We're just living in crazy town because poor people in the US though this conman was going to lower their cost of living.
  10. I'm sure he has a reliable metric to determine how many drugs are entering the country. Other than against China, he actually hasn't implemented any Tariffs. I would like to see Canada and Europe strengthen their alliance. Maybe even have Canada in the EU. The minute gas prices skyrocket, Americans won't have the appetite for this.
  11. Inorder to enrich himself. All the while worsening a humanitarian crisis. As you said, this is another example of flooding the zone. There's no real scenario where he can effectively evict 2 million people without going Nazi. It gets people worked up and distracted from other things. Same with the 51st State crap, there's no real way he could annex Canada without a military operation. It's just a smoke screen. It all speaks to the truth that Trump is a very unserious person.
  12. It's the US POTUS that's proposing the annex the territory and own it. Just let them free in Jordan or Egypt. That won't cause a humanitarian crisis or anything. They'll just be absorbed by Hamas or Hezbolah.
  13. So who's going to accept them? Can they pay the $5 mil to get a Gold Card? Should they go to some sort of camp?
  14. FLOOD the ZONE! It's what Jesus would have wanted.
  15. Just so we're clear, you support to forcible removal almost 2 million people from their home to turn it into the Mayan Riviera?
  16. Happy Dofo 3rd mandate day. This Conservative politician will actually "bring it home" unlike PP evidently.

      Why was there an election?

He wanted to renew his mandate. It could be because some unsavoury stuff could come up regarding the Greenbelt.

Calling a snap election when your opponent isn't ready to lead isn't unusual.

Cynical.  He should e been punished for such cynical maneuvering.

  17. At least the new Gaza would be tolerant of Trans Rights 🫢
  18. Trump just got the Tate brothers sprung from Romanian prison. What the Everloving Eff? https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/romania-tate-brothers-detention-1.7469829 You know a good sign you're a shit person? You like Andrew and Tristian Tate.
  19. I can criticize plenty more comments if you'd like. Where did this 4% approval figure come from? How does he expect a country that's in the middle of a war to hold free and fair elections? He knows that his buddy Putin arrests his political opponents right?
  20. The Russian assets are on overdrive today. I wonder why. The fact that 45/47 said, in his own words, that Ukraine is to blame for this war is evidence for the entire world to see that he's a compromised Russian asset. God help us all.
  21. What does satisfaction even look like? The trade deficit might even widen now that Canadians are looking to avoid buying American goods. There aren't many KPI's to determine that Canada has eliminated the Fentanyl epidemic. It seems like all Trump wants is the attention.
  22. It's a predictable outcome. Trump and his admin were specifically vague about what "fixing the border" meant. They gave no metrics and I'm sure Trump didn't even know what Canada was proposing until yesterday. It's like when a Union is negotiating a contract. There's no point in settling early. You can always get the most out of your opponent if you wait until the last minute. This does show that the US may not be a reliable trading partner for the forceable future. If I was an exporting business in Canada, I would be looking to expand the markets I can sell into.
  23. Nothing's certain yet, but all the pundits seem certain that Dofo will call a snap election next week for February 28th. Using the threat of Trump tariffs is the impetus is pretty smart. In the Toronto area, they have been buying attack ads against the Liberal leader Bonnie Crombie for months now. I would be shocked if he loses. But in 1990 the Liberal leader tried a snap election and that got Ontario an NDP government for the first time ever.
  24. And again it's not a serious proposal. He makes up Trade deficit figures and implies that exporters will pay for tariffs. I'm almost certain they won't levy tariffs on Oil. That could result in an almost immediate increase in gas prices which is the one kitchen table issue people care about most. I guess that's why Danielle Smith is going rogue, she wants the oil supply line to continue. As for manufactured goods, that's the big issue. Canada has an natural advantage for manufacturing due to the cheaper cost for labour, due to universal healthcare and the lower dollar. I don't see how he does this without increasing the price of goods in the US. And not only that, US firms doing business in Canada will immediately become uncompetitive with the counter tariffs. I do like how Dofo has leveraged this "crisis" to try and get a third mandate. Prudent polytiking.
