  1. Yes Harper is completely to blame that Senator Brazueau may have assaulted and sexually assaulted someone. Wonder will the judge drop Brazeau's charges and charge Harper instead?
  2. There was already talk by Robert Ghiz and Stephen Harper bout the timing of the next election. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/prince-edward-island/story/2012/12/03/pei-election-date-584.html
  3. The percentage of MPs who voted for Woolworth's motion last year was almost identical to the percentage of Canadians who don't support abortins.
  4. Old news. It was months ago that it was reported he would be keeping his U of T job but also teaching at Harvard
  5. Heaven forbid someone move to where there are jobs! Those people should have really planned better then.
  6. Strange radical Islamists would want a radical westerner speaking at their conference.
  7. He spoke to a Catholic school to so expect him to ban abortions and get rid of same sex marriage if he becomes Prime Minister.
  8. Interesting that Julian Fantino has spoken at this conference.
  9. It's still early but her campaign seems to be going nowhere, her website hasn't been updated since December 5th. Not much media attention on her either, Garneau is by far Trudeau's only real competition at this point. Maybe when the campaign kicks into high gear and debates start she'll make more of an impression.
  10. You said nothing to back up the claim that Trudeau is like Romney. The only position that Trudeau really seemed to have screw up on is the gun registry, and he was correct in his views he just explained himself horribly. Trudeau has taken positions that for some reason people consider to be on the right but I don't see what kind of point you're trying to make with that.
  11. You cannot buy beer in Newfoundland and Labrador in grocery stores, though a lot have liquor stores attached to them. In the St. John's area, though I don't know if it's the case elsewhere, we don't have stand alone liquor stores, they're all attached to grocery stores and in a select few corner stores (though you can't actually buy alcohol in the grocery store). Beer is available in all, I think, corner stores.
  12. He had already spoken on the issue.
  13. I'll give you a hint... He wouldn't have.
  14. Do you really think had Jason Kenney been invited to this he would have refused? The government has been sending their best wishes to the meeting. Trudeau has the opportunity to flak to 20,000 people, not many would give up that opportunity.
  15. ^ Why because he continued to have a conversation with someone? I was delighted to hear about Sun News but they have been a complete disappointment.
  16. Is it as horrible as Harper sending his best wishes to them?
  17. Glad people will see how their unions are wasting their money.
  18. It's not always to do with standards, I'm sure there are people with educations that would be on par with Canadian standards but still cannot get recognition. I know of someone who has their masters from another country, they currently work with the federal govt in a jon that they should not be in but due to them being the token immigrant they're there anyways. There job is seasonal so for 6 or more months of the year and receive EI, do you think that's a better expenditure. I have a hard time believing that someone who has there Masters cannot get some kind of recognition here. I understand there are issues with doctors, dentists and what not but that could be addressed easily. I'd rather see immigrants working good jobs, or creating good jobs, then working a McJob that likely requires govt handouts for them to get by.
  19. Accreditation for new immigrants is definitely something government should put some focus on. I've known of very well educated immigrants who couldn't get work because they had issues getting their credentials recognized.
