  1. Completely tax-payer funded post-secondary education, not free.
  2. I've never heard anything, maybe you should look it up first.
  3. A separatist in the NDP, who would have thought?
  4. We could only be so lucky.
  5. Why haven't the NDP implemented electoral reform in any province?
  6. And the lefty socialists in Europe.
  7. Are you going to explain your point because you don't give any evidence of how the economy is going downhill?
  8. How isn't Alberta taking action? Not only do they have a carbon tax but they're also working to make the oil sands more environmentally friendly.
  9. Harper provided a loan guarantee for the Muskrat Falls project, which will mean that 98% of Newfoundland and Labrador will be powered by renewable energy and Nova Scotia will be able to close coal plants.
  10. James Moore is the best one to succeed Harper IMO, at least out of those three.
  11. What exactly is a Minister of Consumer Services?
  12. Guilty till proven innocent.
  13. What a ridiculously oversized cabinet, the woman must be worse then I thought if she thinks all these ministers are needed. Harper's not the only one who can appoint useless ministers to useless departments. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/story/2013/02/11/ontario-kathleen-wynne-new-cabinet.html
  14. Labour laws make a difference because they will need to follow Canada's that could become more expensive.
  15. All provinces and territories have minimum wages over $10, do you think Canadians in T&C are going to accept making $7 just so we can travel their for cheap vacations? I'm not that up to date with T&C but what are their labour laws like? Are people in resorts actually making minimum wage? These people will want, and deserve, the same standard of living as the rest of Canada. As well how many will want to remain there if they can now go to any province, get a good education and get a well paying job?
  16. Hundreds of takeout restaurants, fine dining, outlet malls, amusement parks? Nope.
  17. How much are people willing to pay, or can afford to pay, to stay in canada?
  18. Amenities. You can relax in the sun but still live a life of shopping and eating out.
  19. I would live in Florida for the winter, I would not consider going to a small island in the Caribbean though.
  20. I don't see how we could provide a $1000 all expenses paid trip, but okay.
  21. I know people who just travelled to Florida, flight and accommodations in a gated community resort for $550 each. Florida is also a very different type of vacation then a resort too, and they have a big population with an economy that isn't based solely on tourism. Hawaii is a good point though, but it is an expensive vacation. My point is that the people who travel to Cuba or Dominican Republic are getting an all inclusive vacation for ~$1000, could that be done in Turks and Caicos with a $10 minimum wage? Could they compete with Hawaii?
  22. How much is vacationing in Turks and Caicos going to cost once minimum wage is brought in and they have to start abiding by Canada's labour laws (among other things). Canadians travel to countries that are cheap to vacation in, I doubt T&C will be competitive as an inexpensive tourist destination as a Canadian territory.
