That is actually a myth. They are guaranteed the ability to have their own education system. It does not say that they need to have a publicly funded education system. Of course it is in the curriculum. But the quality of their education is actually lower since the Catholic Faith MUST be included in all subjects. Catholic faith trumps rational thought. Not only that but they don't have qualified people teaching many subjects, Technological Education (Construction, Manufacturing, etc) is often taught by 'people who just happen to be catholic with a degree'. Rather than someone from industry with professional experience. I personally blame Harris for this one. He took away the teacher's ability to grade learning skills. Learning skills (work habits, ability to learn independently, etc) are the most important for any young learner. Who cares what you know if you can acquire the knowledge and skills tomorrow?

Blame Catholics for hating the world and demanding that they segregate their children from novel ideas and good science, using public funds. Public and French board... Becomes Public, French, Catholic, Catholic-French that's 4 different busing options right there. Teacher friends say they are discouraged from coming back and encourage them to move on. It seems like a waste of life for them to stay for another year, unless they really need it. Try funding a computer engineering program with $5-10 a student... Yeah, the system is bloated now... lol. You hold teachers to a higher standard than regular people. Regular people bitch about their job and how their boss is changing the process and the quality of program/efficiency will drop. Second, any government that has a high school drop out as education minister should be declared legally insane, likewise with anyone who supports said minister... Especially after that minister is caught saying that "We need to create a crisis in public education" ... You remember that Molly, don't you?

You only make 25k a year with post-secondary education after 18years? MAN!!! I look at jobs I am qualified for with 5 years experience for 95k... I guess I would take it out on everyone else demanding everyone receive crappy pay like mine too but, I'd have no one to blame but myself.

Most people understand, well I should say, most SANE people who can read understand that you can't blame all of the taxes that McGuinty brought in during his first term on him. The Conservatives knowingly fudged the budget numbers to show a surplus. McGuinty was campaigning based on their surplus only to find a multibillion dollar deficit. The Conservatives in Ontario are slimy, fraudulent buggers.

Well, at least until you consider that the US spends a lot more on programming than Canada. It is very easy for Canadian content to get brushed aside when American content already exists. That being said, Canada doesn't really have much culture content. Our culture is entirely fabricated in an attempt differentiate us from the States, when we are infact very similar.

Double Dipping is just another big F-YOU to the younger generations who will be paying for the retirement of the double dipper their entire lives. They (the retired) haven't paid enough into their pensions, they are receiving more benefits than they should be getting, and they are taking jobs away from the people who will be paying for the shortfall in the pension plans in the future.

Example: My local newspaper is a sorry excuse for anything that can be called 'news'. It is a conservative propaganda piece, nothing more. Recently, on the front page it had an article attacking a teacher's union for encouraging them to take sick days to volunteer for anti conservative campaigning in the upcoming provincial election. If you read the story fully by taking the time to flip to the back of the dumb newspaper, eventually you find out this is not true. Union representatives clearly state that calling in sick without legitimate reason is fraud, and would has never and will never be encouraged. So then why is the accusation left clearly on the font page? to misinform and enrage conservative sheep. Nothing more. Next week, I'll read letters to the editor with people aghast that teachers call in sick for political activism... *sigh*

To boot, the Ontario Teacher's Pension Plan is making younger teachers pay more for less to support those who are retired already. In Ontario, it is illegal to revise a pension once being received. All current retired teachers did not pay enough into the plan. New teachers face partial indexing and paying more into the plan, to support them.

Back to work legislation is ridiculous in this situation at this current time. This shows that the Conservative Government has absolutely no regard for labour and worker rights. These are two non-essential services. There are other companies that deliver mail in Canada if anything is urgent. Anything truly essential can use FedEx, UPS, etc. 95% I ever receive in standard mail is junk anyways. What I do receive that matters, is never urgent. I receive urgent notices via telephone or email. There are companies other than Air Canada to be used during this time. Air Canada is not an essential monopoly on flight traffic. Not only that but in the case of CanPost, they are being LOCKED OUT by the employer. An underhanded move most likely put in place to force back to work legislation. They have only been out for a short time on rotational strikes. Personally, I could get used to 3 day a week mail service for residential and it would cost much less.
