  1. Seriously. The man is talking about trying to make the world better for everyone and conservatives can't even take it with stride. Pathetic.
  2. A bunch of wealth convervatives on this board... How about we send the rich more money for paying us less than our service is worth to generate profit?
  3. I like how you conveniently ignore that the footprint of the electric vehicle is actually lower over the lifespan of the vehicle. http://www.greencarcongress.com/2011/06/lowcvp-20110608.html
  4. Can say the same about the conservative platform lol.
  5. It could be worse... people could be reading Sun News with bigger font print and grade 6 reading level words directly geared toward convincing poor and dumb people that conservatism is in their interest. Oh wait...
  6. If only die hard conservatives would realize this...
  7. Have you watched "Who Kill the Electric Car?" They expose the issues quite well. People were BEGGING to buy their cars. Had a waiting list in the thousands. Instead they were crushed. In what business do you crush a product that people are begging to buy? They even raised money to buy them! The oil industry really had a dirty hand in it lobbying to change regulations and make it less favourable to enter the market, as well as spread misinformation to the public. If electric cars hit mass production, you'd see a proliferation of them across North America. They'd all of a sudden become more affordable. The oil companies knew this and they fought to prevent it. There are no mass produced electric cars on the market yet. The defining moment of the documentary for me was when they the corporatists were downplaying the waiting list that was in the thousands. "Once we described the product's limitations the list whittled down..." ... excuse me, what idiot would try to tell people who wanted to get into one of the vehicles all of the limitations.
  8. I know very few diehard atheists. Most are agnostic atheists, in the realm of having no proof and not believing the tales in the bible that were completely written by humans. I label myself an agnostic atheist. But, I'll still go to church with my wife on occasion because it is important to her and I understand the role of religion in people's lives. My sons can make that decision for themselves as they grow older like I did.
  9. Their two party system is way to easy for corporations to control. American hasn't been a democracy for a long time. It's plutocracy and it's about time Americans wake up to this fact.
  10. Real conservatives don't exist.
  11. ... it's always appropriate when dealing with a douche who would make such comments.
  12. You've just been brainwashed by the wealthy that want you to have no power, and no money so that you continue to work your menial job. Take pride in it!
  13. No but, electric cars would be a hell of a lot cheaper if they hadn't been blocked in California by the oil industry. My gas budget is $60/week MAX. I rarely go over it.
  14. I was just called for a poll. Rated all party leaders very unfavourable except the green party candidate. Said I'd vote NDP as #1, Conservative as #2 and that I'm very likely to change my vote. Also said that I'd never vote Liberal. There's some of the margin of error for ya. I thought it was funny though, the poor guy could barely speak english. Pronounced Dalton McGuilty. That will be one biased poll lol.
  15. This Conservative idiot needs to go. He doesn't think before he speaks.
  16. The irony here is that using today's figures are conservative as the price of oil will only go up. We have hit peak oil, demand growth outpaces new finds. I hope that you can reflect on why this statement is ironic. And non of them are oil companies. I want new companies to come out that might actually have an ethical conscience. Yeah, the oil companies want to unethically hold their position and you support that. Why are we waiting for technologies like hydrogen that are decades off when we have current technology that can help shift us there? The oil companies love hyrdogen because they can keep their business model infinitely... you still require a fueling station... unlike electric vehicles that can be charged at home. Again, I hope you can reflect on the irony in your statement. Truth be told, all that you are convincing me of is that your have a nest egg that contains a large investment in oil companies. That goes for a large portion of pro-oil posters as well.
  17. The poor are lazy! Tax them more! I worked hard for my second island paradise and am considering a solid gold fountain for it... but I need lower taxes to do so with my hard earned money that my workers bring in for me... It's hard to shout orders down from the top.
  18. ... another conspiracy theory fronted by "grass roots" organizations created by oil companies to cloud the real issue. HEY, THEY WANT TO MAKE MONEY!!! It's a conspiracy theory to keep their jobs! .... says the oil company in an industry that has over $115 574 267 150 000* in business left to do in oil based on current proven reserves and price of oil. are you insane Bill? How can you even support such an argument after thinking about it? *1,392,461,050,000 Barrles of Proven Oil Reserves * $83 cost of oil today = $115 574 267 150 000
  19. The sad thing is that I could have voted for the old Progressives and felt good about it. Now they are regressive corporatists. A pock mark in Canadian history, I just hope we get out of it.
  20. Men get the short end of the stick in divorce anyways, he has every right to be pissed. Could be paying half of his salary to a woman who refused to go back to work after having kids. Ironically, being a deadbeat mom is a benefit when fighting for custody because they are home all the time for the children. Women are vicious in divorce and I don't pity them. My ex-step mother's family owned a multimillion dollar company and she STILL tried to go after my dad's pension... until he reminded her that 1/10th of the company was his and he hadn't been planning on going after it. I'm just surprised that more men don't go on an insane rampage.
  21. Conservatives... always tossing out ridiculous examples. 50 weeks the year is the same as getting 3 instead of 2 or 5 instead of 4. Obviously.
  22. You mean like the federal Conservatives have shown for Canada? Your pedophile remark is old btw, it was already used earlier in this thread.
  23. The future of course. Don't be so obtuse. Oil will become less important as we develop sustainable energies and more efficient ways to harvest and transport said energy. Having a market that demands it (Electric Cars) would lead to this innovation and technology. Californians Against Utility Abuse Maybe watch "Who Killed the Electric Car" as they expose the corporations there too.
  24. Only when people try to complicate situations to extremes beyond what they really are. Hate crime? yeah right.
  25. uhhh, to protect their multi billion dollar industry? They paid people to make "grass roots" organizations to combat and question the electric car. Paying a few scientists is right up their league. Why ANYONE would trust a corporation given their history of bribery, lieing and deceit to consumers is beyond me...
