Christian - An irritional individual with an uncanny desperate will to appear morally superior. Often someone who warps the teachings of christ to rationalize every decision they make including theft, manipulation, violence and even hate crimes.

Should Canada legislate more vacation time?
MiddleClassCentrist replied to Thorn's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Canada should legislate more corporate oppression. If someone's only option is to work for $5/hr and no vacation who to dictate him he can't starve? Corporations live under increasing number of rules to protect citizens, laws, by-laws and the requirement to adhere to ethical actions is growing by the day. Now even boating with electric Min-Kota now requires a licence (money) with the usual exception for one race only (that cannot even be mentined here) (not the same) -
Should Canada legislate more vacation time?
MiddleClassCentrist replied to Thorn's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
My friend has a job in Alberta for an architectural firm. 2 weeks for 3 years 3 weeks for 2 years after 5 years 4 weeks 4 weeks isn't bad if you split it up. Even 10 days can turn into 10 extra long weekends. My mother gets 5 weeks in Ontario... after like 20 years. -
I read through this thread. I can only conclude that betsy is being willfully ignorant. No discussion can change willful ignorance. Have a good day.

Husband Finally Delivers "Rock" to Wife

He moved a rock. Women are encouraged to take everything in divorce. The man should have a little fun while being fleeced. -
Who is the most powerful?

Simple Answer. No. No one has wasted more money on investing in weapon stockpiles than the U.S. -
Should Canada legislate more vacation time?
MiddleClassCentrist replied to Thorn's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The ugly right wing side believes in the old traditional methods... Keep the worker at work, keep them fearful of losing their job, pay them as low as possible. More progressive methods have been proven to improve quality of work. Anyone who has studied modern business practices would know this. -
Ford seeks public cash for subway

... It's as if you summarized all conservatives in a single line. MORE JAILS!!!! Lower our already low corporate taxes!!! -
I wouldn't mind Dalton again. The previous conservative government fudged numbers so Dalton couldn't keep his promises in the first term. Now they, willingly ignore that fact because they are idiots. Election promises for his original win are irrelevant because there was no surplus. The Conservatives lied.

I would rather 3 ECE's be in the classroom than 1 teacher. Kindergarten is now the most expensive grade to run. 1 Teacher and 1 ECE with small class sizes. In my opinion, at the lower elementary level Teacher's are over qualified. Kindergarten isn't really curriculum driven. It's about more about getting kids into the idea of school and working with each other.

After many thousands of years of recovery and mass extinctions... We are currently at a point of mass extinction, created by us. You can go and say its not true because the sun is shining and you are alive, if you like. But mass extinctions can be gradual over thousands of years on the geologic scale of time. We expend more resources than the Earth can support. Any species that uses more calories to obtain food than is in the food will go extinct unless it evolves. Conservatives don't want to evolve, as usual. Who knows, millions of years from now a new race could be looking at the fossil time scale trying to figure out what caused our mass extinction like we try to figure out those before us. Too bad we wouldn't be able to warn them of the potential threat of the conservative ideology.

I suppose you are right. I am talking about how Christians manipulate their teachings rather than what is written.

What I don't understand is why people still refer to it as global warming. Climate change is the broader issue. Yes the world is warming based on data collected, yes a few people have screwed up here and there but it is not some world wide conspiracy theory by scientists to keep their jobs. There are way too many people who fall for the propaganda being emitted by "grass roots" movements created and funded (indirectly or directly) by the oil companies of the world. I wouldn't be shocked if there was someone on this board who was funded by an oil company to spread misinformation in posts. It is really shocking how easy it s to manipulate people with enough money to pay a few people to spread misinformation. And I think it has been so successful because conservative ideology tends to favour black and white thinking. There is only two options. This ends up giving more weight to misinformation because there is no such thing as a compromise on ideology in the center, we are either experiencing extreme climate change or we aren't... or the result will be either disastrous or create a "garden of eden". Especially in one sided situations where there is consensus because, there "has" to be an alternative. All of the documentaries I've watched, corporations being outed for spreading misinformation... I guess it can be labelled left wing propaganda... by your local conservative politician who received a big cheque from big oil in their campaign... It sickens me... It was even present during our election. They didn't release word of an oil spill in Alberta until after their pro-oil Prime Minister was elected. Our last election was more dubious than anyone realizes... I wonder how much money was spent by oil companies through creative shell companies or grass roots movements to get editorials that favour Harper, the only pro-oil candidate available.

Yes. The time to get on a ship is when it is sinking. Canada can shift ties and has been shifting ties to other nations for trade. The world demands natural resources, we provide natural resources. The U.S. is convenient and we'll lose some efficiency but merger would not improve finding new markets as the U.S. tanks. Canada would do better to maintain it's current status independently... any merger is one sided and will only help U.S. corporations exploit our resources with even less accountability than they already have.

Yeah, that is exactly why right after the election the Conservatives were giving credit to targetting new Canadians in Toronto as one of the reasons they won.

We have politicians that would prefer supplement populations with immigration rather than birth rate. I'm personally of the opinion that we should have a birth rate solution... Countries that are over populated should make it less feasible to have large families... that is their responsibility. Europeans are intelligent bleeding hearts in a way that they are slowly leading themselves to extinction. We are a minority world wide, our birth rate is extremely low. The earth has a lot of people on it, so lets not encourage birth rate of our civilization... Rather than having other races take responsibility for their birth rate, we'll do it for them by making ourselves extinct over time.

If Christians actually believed in truth, they'd know that evolution does exist and it is entirely possible that we evolved from another creature... Christians use their faith to justify immoral behaviour all the time. I've lived with more conservative christians, I know that for a fact. "God would want me to be happy", "It's ok to steal money from my step son because he's an atheist" lol... Islam, overseas, is where Christianity was only a few hundred years ago. The idea that Christianity is that much more civilized is steaming bathtub of BS being bathed in by Christians.

I don't buy crap I don't need, or upgrade tech just because there is something newer. I will live in my smaller house, even though I can afford more because it is more efficient and cost effective. Too many people buy big houses that cost more to heat, more to cool, take up more land, and require more maintenance. I set my AC to 78 during the summer and open my windows at night to cool down the house. I shut all of the windows where the sun comes in to keep my house cool without AC. I rarely need AC because I shut the windows in the morning to keep the cool air in. I set my heat to 68 in the winter and open my windows so the sun can heat up my house during the day. I hang my laundry on a clothes line in the summer. I drive the speed limit and reduce my gas consumption 15%-20%. I'm already fairly green for my area. I'd be willing to pay more for green energy. People need to understand that they can already improve their efficiency at home aswell. If costs go up, most people and mitigate them by being smart about it.

Corn Grown In Gormely Ontario imported back?
MiddleClassCentrist replied to Oleg Bach's topic in Local Politics in Canada
Many of those places just set up a stand and import produce... My dad's friend used to do it and make good cash. People pay a premium at the farmers market and getting a cute teen girl to work the stand only costs minimum wage.
