Because he's a nutcase. Not because of his "fiscal responsibility" facade he put up to get elected. He just wants to screw poor people.
-
It doesn't. In fact, much like the HST, transfers burden of tax from the wealthy and corporations to the poor and middle class.

hot sauce/cold shower = child abuse?

What you say is meaningless until you put some hotsauce in your mouth and let us know how it goes! -
hot sauce/cold shower = child abuse?
MiddleClassCentrist replied to a topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
You question whether hot sauce is actually child abuse but, have never experienced it... nor are you willing to (apparently). This reduces the validity of your opinion to that of a willfully ignorant opinion. To make your opinion valid, grab a tablespoon of hot sauce and swish it around and swallow. Report back here and let us know how it went. I've been spanked as a child when I was way out of line. I've had extra hot wings by mistake. The spanking was way more minor than the hot sauce. http://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/pi/fv-vf/facts-info/child-enf.html -
hot sauce/cold shower = child abuse?
MiddleClassCentrist replied to a topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
This conversation would be easier if you stated your opinion rather than just questioning everyone elses. What form of pain causing punishment is appropriate on a child? None? All? Specific? ---- If seems as though you feel that it isn't abuse when it doesn't leave a mark. There are a lot of muslims following Sharia Law who beat their wives who also agree with you. Leave no mark and your can beat away! -
hot sauce/cold shower = child abuse?
MiddleClassCentrist replied to a topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
No. I was trying to illustrate that hot sauce is still a strong punishment. I don't spank my children either. I wouldn't hit my father, mother, brother, sister, wife or friend in an argument. Why would it be OK to hit my children out of frustration when I disagree with them? Why don't you go answer this for yourself? Go buy the hottest hot sauce you can find. Take a table spoon and put it into your mouth. Then you can personally decide if it is appropriate to give a young child. If fact, that is probably the best solution. -
Conservatives are just upset because Jack is receiving more attention than any of their politicians would. Stephen Harper would have less attention if he keeled over next week.

hot sauce/cold shower = child abuse?
MiddleClassCentrist replied to a topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
So, say I shoved hot sauce down your throat because I didn't like your opinion. I would get charged with assault. I don't think it's going any further to say that it was child abuse. Purposefully inflicting pain as punishment. Spanking is more mild of a punishment than hot sauce. Hot sauce burns for a long time, especially in a young mouth. A spanking only stings for a few seconds. -
Health care system needs to be reformed - NOW!
MiddleClassCentrist replied to sammykp's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Canada already has public and private components. Dental and Eye Health for instance. -
Tim Hudak was in a position to walk to victory. Nutcase Ford in Toronto doesn't help either.

McGuinty ahead of Hudak on Trust

They do and will continue to do so. You have to be turning a blind eye to programming out there that shows otherwise. With cases like Monsanto, when journalists tried to do an expose on their milk hormones they were sued until they kept it off the air. Fox News bowed to corporate demands. Ron Paul is being largely ignored in the MSM because he would take away the corporate tit that their affiliates drink from. Again, you have to purposefully turn a blind eye to not see it happening. Corporations are immortal and they are only getting bigger as weaker ones are acquired. This is only going to get worse.

Mammoliti: ‘If I get a smell of communism...
MiddleClassCentrist replied to Shwa's topic in Local Politics in Canada
You are talking about totalitarianism. Communism is just an economic system... With the number of your posts... I believe someone must have pointed that out to you by now. -
Learning Skills are not part of a students grade. I think you mis understand. Tthere is a lot of knowledge but I am referring to how students are graded. I was hired as a network administrator at one fresh out of University. 20% - Content (Knowledge/Understanding) 30% - Independence (Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks without holding the teachers hand constantly) 20% - Work Ethic 20% - Inquiry (Investigating further, going above and beyond, extending knowledge) 10% - Home Work Completion Being able to learn is more important than what you currently know.

If a parent has taught their gifted child to learn and be capable of learning on their own, School becomes irrelevant for the 'gifted child', apart from socialization and friendship building. You can learn how to make robotics at home, just pick up a few books and get going! You can do more advanced experiments at home for science too. One problem with specifically Ontario public education, is that Conservative Mike Harris killed a teacher's ability to properly grade learning skills. "It's what you know that counts." is BS. Who cares what the child knows, if they can learn anything they need to? Learning skills and character building are the most important part of childhood educatoin. A gifted child is useless if they can't learn on their own. Meanwhile, learning skills are what many high end private schools grade... with only 20% of a student's grade being knowledge.

I prefer that the CBC be funded than privately owned. Private Media will always neglect to tell stories that private corporations don't like. Macleans and their outright support and puff piece article of Usage Based Billing is an example. Macleans is owned by Rogers... of course it supports something that hinders the ability for new innovative data and entertainment delivery formats to compete.

The rich don't actually give you a job. People need services. People need to eat. People need entertainment. People need resources. You have a job because the economy deems there to be a need in your job. Your job does not appear by the benevolent hand of the wealthy. The wealthy then cut profit off of your wage to generate profit. The price of the end product is the real value of your work. We've been conditioned to think otherwise.

So... having the foresight to see where something is going... is bad in the U.S.? I suppose that is why the country is tanking so hard as the wealthy make off with all of the loot. He was right. He saw where it was going and everyone ignored him. His words are growing stronger as youth are left with the burden of taxes, and no benefit for the previous generations mistakes. I recall Jean Chretien going around advocating a lower debt to GDP. And he was leader of a centrist party! Prime Minister too of course.

Should Canada legislate more vacation time?

Conservatives have no morals. ... I guess they'll have to find a way to convince their religious followers that Christ told them to manipulate the last words of a dying man into a political game for their benefit. They are trying to keep the man's message of good will from becomming and sort of movement that is not in line with Conservative ideology... It is pathetic. -

Stereotypes are often based on truths, even if they are small and not applicable to the entire population. I guess that might hurt sometimes... Both of you are spending too much time arguing something that is not really on topic. Make up and have great sex or just shut up. -
