Dalton needs to make huge cuts, to fund his agenda. He's not actually cutting to save money. This key point needs to be recognized publicly. His slogan should have been "bleeding ontario forward"...

Dalton McGuinty is a liar. He says that we need to freeze young teachers on the pay grid... To pay for a 30% tuition cut that isn't retroactive. These young teachers have loads of student debt after 5-6 years of education. They are now being told F-U. While I do see a need to freeze wages, taking it out on the current young working generation can't always be the solution. If you are going to freeze the young workers on the grid, at least make the student tuition payment partially retroactive.

Oh divine Apple Corporation. Bless us with thy moderate upgrade of technology that has extremly little bearing onthe actual functionality of the product. It's not called iPad 3. It's called "The New iPad" Apple makes more sense when you stop thinking about it as a technology company, and more like a religion. Apple products aren't even better at ANYTHING. The company is just better at marketing to people who don't actually understand technology (the majority of people) or people who want to be regarded as "hip"/"not the man". The irony being is that Apple is the definition of "the man", actively searching for ways to clamp down on how you use technology. ----- Apple is succeeding in a marketplace that ironically, understands less and less about technology. iDevices sold by gigabytes as the defining difference? lol. iDevices marketed as upgrades by increasing the megapixel resolution of the camera sensor? lol. It's the lense that matters doofuses(doofii?), you are just creating a larger file size of a crappy photo. iDevices taht are more restrictive in almost every way. iDevices made by a corporation that holds a patent to prevent you from taking a picture of anything that might be copyrighted (can prevent pictures from being taken at concerts). Like an over protective father, the divine Apple corporation knows best.

Maybe Ontario is more conservative than even they themselves think? They believe themselves to be more leftist, and vote with that belief... Yet the reality does not align with the belief.

Yes. Let's create a business instrument that has zero liability above and beyond dissolution of the company... and on top of that give them 0% taxes. You want to see the truth of it? They set up a tiny office, employ 10-20 people and call it their head office for tax reasons only. The gain is extremely small. I see more whining from westerners on news forums/articles than any other group. Ontario is still a net contributor. Plain and simple. Ontario spends less than every other province per person. Ontario does not get more than it receives like many would have you believe.

I agree. Let's lay off teachers and toss them onto EI instead! On the spectrum of importance to society, horse racing is near the bottom. If it creates jobs, it should be done because of demand for the industry, not subsidy.

If you simply define good management as supporting corporations and sticking it to workers and consumers, then yes, they have done an excellent job at that.

You just have to remember that convictions of fraudulent acts are seen as career building experience to the Conservatives. Then it all makes sense.

Mostly because it addressed points of the disconnect between how Conservatives market their party ideology, and the reality of their actions.

It is not very likley that Rae will receive my vote in 3 years. The Liberal party needs to find a new leader, Rae is getting older and doesn't have the longevity factor. Maybe it will be another Green party "throw away" vote for me.

Equally but in different ways. For instance, some people believe that a truly free market will clean up oil spills and toxic industrial chemicals out of the good of their hearts(LOL!) In Ontario the problem is grades 6-8. It's when the teachers stop understanding the more abstract ideas of mathematics. Elementary teachers do not need to have taken math past grade 10 (now grade 11 with new curriculum). High School math teachers require a higher degree of mathematics ability. Engineering degree, mathematics degree, unless you rack up the required math courses in University to get the qualification. High school math teachers will complain about the random results of grade 9 students entering high school because the competency of teachers teaching math in 7-8 varies drastically. Generally the skilled mathematics teachers in grade 9-12 make up for the fact that they don't require teachers in grades 6-8 to teach subjects they are competent at only. They need to implement more rotary like in high school at that level. There is a systematic problem in elementary because the principals give merit to teachers who know nothing about math but are using some spacey and out there method to teach it that is actually hurting the students more than helping. (this is my case against merit pay assigned by administration, it goes to the people who do "flashy work" not good work.)

Basically, the government is not actually "talking" with them to find ways to save the money they are looking to save because the are not giving a specific figure amount that needs to be cut.
