NDP Leading Tories in Newest Poll
MiddleClassCentrist replied to nittanylionstorm07's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Correction: Canadians who are likely to vote conservative at some point, respond favourably to the those tactics. Just look at how right wing media conducts itself. -
NDP Leading Tories in Newest Poll
MiddleClassCentrist replied to nittanylionstorm07's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Odd... I haven't seen an NDP policy to distribute wealth equally... Funny that. Oh wait, you are a right wing loony . Keep smokin' that weed and dreamin' those dreams. -
Yeah, it allows employers to risk employee's lives because the employer won't have to pay the full expense or lose their business... just insurance premiums. You could say that they look after employees AFTER the incident, but they enable employers to ignore safety concerns. So many cases where the company should have been held criminally negligent, having received notice after notice that a machine was unsafe. A worker is then killed or injured and the company/owner receives little to no penalty.

100 Per Cent* Of Canadians Hate The CBC

THe WSIB doesn't really look after workers. It prevents workers and families of workers from being able to sue the company for gross incompetence and negligence causing harm. That is really all the WSIB is for. Been warned 10 times to put a safety mechanism on the machinery? Machinery starts killing a teenage worker? NO PROBLEM. WSIB has got your back negligent employer. The family gets compensation from the WSIB and the Employer gets no penalty.

No. We didn't have the discussion. That is the myth. The myth that we have legislation and laws governing abortion at all, in any sense. We have laws governing almost everything else... but not it. http://www.abortionincanada.ca/history/legal_abortion_canada.htmlWe have nothing. We have an anti-abortion law that was struck down and nothing ever replaced it because of the bogeyman of "womyn's rights" infringement. If abortion is legal on all accounts with no limits, write it into law. If there are ethical limits, write it into law. Let's just have the discussion and think about this sensibly and rationally. Allow abortions, put ethical limits on when the abortion can take place (based purely on whether the fetus can live outside of the womb, +when the mother's health is in jeopardy) and write it into law to make it official. Doctors already follow those ethical limits for the most part, the majority of abortions fit any reasonable timeline in Canada. Late term abortions are mostly only done for health reasons. Now if we are talking about fully banning abortions, that is just unreasonable.

Lol. You seem to have missed the target. Female fetuses are being killed after being detected for the sole reason of the fact that they were female. If feminists support the practice of killing female fetuses because they want a male one, I'd be surprised. Completely legal in our "right to choose" society.
-
Absolutely, and they would be criminals as well

Maybe it becomes illegal after the ultrasound that determines sex? For some reason, I don't think women will support killing future women...

I'm not really against this... Canada has no abortion laws. It's not that it is illegal. It's not that it is legal. It's just not legislated. It's a grey area without any limits. Many civilized nations won't give abortions when the baby could survive outside of the womb (24 weeks). In Canada, you could abort the baby the day before it is born... Personally, if people want to abort, I say sure. I mean, it's really just darwin at work, limiting those genes from the gene pool. But, maybe we should have some ethical/sensible limits on it.

Conservatives vs Progressive Conservatives
MiddleClassCentrist replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I would not likely vote for the current conservatives at some point. I would likely vote for Progressive Conservatives at some point. -

Alberta Election Prediction
MiddleClassCentrist replied to madmax's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I'm going to label the outspoken hypocritical libertarian demographic more likely to answer polls. I go with the unlikely PC minority option heheh. -
Alberta Election 2012
MiddleClassCentrist replied to TheNewTeddy's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Wildrose is the Conservative Party. PC's are the actual party of political change (that has a chance at winning). Trying to invest a little of the oil windfall in society. That's the problem in more than one way for the PC's though. Alberta's electorate doesn't want change. They just want a different face to pretend that they voted for change doing the same Corporatist crap. That is their version of "change". -
Study: 'Low-effort' Thinking Promotes Conservatism
MiddleClassCentrist replied to cybercoma's topic in Political Philosophy
All you have to do is look at what media targets conservative mindsets to know. The SUN. There you go. Simple minded, sensational news where it is always us vs them in every broadcast... to the point of more like a teen "reality" tv drama episode. I'm not arguing that most conservatives are simple minded, just that they do tend to target the simple minded. -

It's a lot simpler to hate or love with no shades of grey in between Sometimes, one side is so polarized that anyone falling in the other direction is "the enemy". -

US vs THEM mentality is generally very low-level thought process. Afterall, it is one of our most basic evolutionary instincts for self-preservation. -

You are forgetting that fraud convictions are seen as an asset when working for the Conservative party. -
Should Canada acquire nuclear weapons?
MiddleClassCentrist replied to stopstaaron's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Let's look at the big targets. Any city over 300,000k is a prime target. The smaller the city, the safer you are! So move out of Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, etc etc... -

The best defense against nuclear weapons is to not live in urban centres -
Alberta Election 2012
MiddleClassCentrist replied to TheNewTeddy's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
You can't be libertarian and true conservative. Libertarians would be for homosexual marriage. Can't have that... It just shows how hypocritical people are. "I want more rights and freedom... but that person isn't like me so they shouldn't." -

A self hating person indeed. Some rich guy thanks you for your continued support in oppressing the work force.
