  1. He does sound deranged since a shoehorn stolen from within the mosque and used as a weapon doesn't suggest a great deal of planning or intelligent design.
  2. There is a religious exemption for having a photo taken for a gun license - but was not implemented for Muslims, because it requires that the religion forbid picture taken, as Hutterites and Mennonites do. From Section 14, Paragraph 2 of the Firearms License Regulation: Even if a Muslim woman claimed a religious exemption, she'd fail because Islam does not forbid picture taking. In 2009, the Supreme Court ruled that Alberta could insist that even these religious groups had to have a photo for their driver's license because it was a security issue. According to the CCLA, it's also a requirement for niqab wearing women to have a full face pic for driver's license and passport; the accommodation is in allowing those women to remove their niqab in private and by another woman. To think that the RCMP would just randomly decide to ignore it's own regulations and the general standard for other and similar situation beggars belief. Clearly, this bit of anti-Muslim fantasy provided to us by the Rebel is designed only to stoke outrage against Muslims. Is it any wonder that I rarely believe any of the anti-Muslim bullshit from any source, when it can be so easily proven wrong by just 15 minutes of research.
  3. Why would you expect to trust a stranger on the internet? Unless of course they were promoting bizarre conspiracy theories. You remember incorrectly. You claim that about everyone who doesn't believe what you want them to believe.
  4. Not really. Rue is clear that he dislikes terrorism (who doesn't?) and holds those who engage in terrorism responsible, he dislikes the more fundamental aspects of Islam which essentially results in the oppression of women, but he applies the same standard against all groups and doesn't assume every Muslim is an incipient terrorist or automatic barbarian. I don't agree with Rue 100%, but he's definitely one of the more reasonable and balanced on this site. Might I suggest that instead of flailing around looking to argue, you could stop and read what people are saying a bit more carefully.
  5. Since it's literally impossible for you to see people as individuals, I feel pretty safe in saying you have no fucking clue what my ideological beliefs are. You've put me in a box so you can simply insult me, as you do anyone you consider 'left'. You do the same with Muslims, and no doubt other groups. That is blind ideology in action, the clear sign of a person who cannot think outside his biases. I guess it's the only way you can feel safe, eh?
  6. And if you woke up one morning to find "Death to Muslim-haters" scrawled on your garage door, you'd brush it off in the same way - only a threat and vandalism, nothing to worry about?
  7. That seems pretty dismissive of women who have strangers come up to them, scream abuse at them and yank their hijab off their head.
  8. Wow, look at your Christian compassion shining through. A woman loses three of her family and that's your response. Sickening.
  9. Really? So that was when Harper was in power and not Trudeau! I believe I said earlier that I didn't see a why they were blaming the Conservatives, but now I do. It will be interesting if hate crimes go down in 2016 again.
  10. Too bad you'll be dead before you see what this attitude will do to our grandchildren.
  11. Russia claiming they've killed ISIS leaders, including al-Baghadi.

Why would isis give a formal notification?  They don't seem to be really following the war equivalent of Robert's Rules of Order. :) But yeah, definitely not a sure thing.   Ditto on the school.

I'm not really sure why but I heard a reporter who apparently has some knowledge of how things work within that community say that they would announce his death as a show of respect. I would have thought they would keep such a thing quiet so as not to underscore the event. I'm certainly no expert. I bet if he's still alive there will be a release of him giving a speech at an undisclosed location with a current newspaper displayed to verify the date.

      This is a bi-weekly event...killing Baghdadi.

  12. @Rue We do seem to be getting stupider as a species, don't we. Celebrity culture also helped elect Trump and it seems 140 character communication is all that's needed to persuade masses of people. Sad.
  13. Let's sell them all the best and biggest guns .... Cause Muslim refugees and immigrants fleeing from the Middle East are so darn popular we need more of them!
  14. I agree. Conservative types are lilly white and blameless.
  15. One guy can do that? How about a Trump and Le Pen admirer who kills Muslims? Does he take heat off Muslim terrorists?
  16. Got HE on ignore but pretty sure this statement is warranted anyway.
  17. That was terrible, I agree.
  18. Ok. Is anyone here attacking them?
  19. What are you on about? The Muslims were killed after Harper and the Stats Can study was out this week. Nothing to do with Harper as far as I'm concerned.
  20. Yet you failed to care or comment on OW correlating Liberals with Muslim terrorists. Go figure.
  21. One election result among five or six does not make for a directional change of lean.
  22. I admit some liberal leaning people are fruitcakes. Some are stupid. Some lie. Some are violent. Can you admit the same about conservative-leaning people?
  23. Stats Canada tells us that anti-Muslim hate crimes in Canada rose by 5% nationally, but by 39% in the Conservative stronghold of Alberta. The guy who killed six Muslims was a rightist. Clearly no group is immune from crazies thinking violence is a solution. Perhaps our culture shod address that instead of throwing shade.
