The Tories are in a slow-but-steady bleeding mode. It may be just enough for the NDP to tie or just overcome them in national popular vote by May 2.

Time for jack to stand up and tell the truth.

If Alberta is so high-flying and awesome, how come the provincial government continues to struggle financially? -

Because a country has socialistic programs doesn't mean the country is socialist. Canada is a mixed market system, just like the US, UK, Australia, etc. -

Canada is not a socialist country. Ugh. -
The Tories are failing to understand that vote splitting is no longer occurring, and that the NDP has replaced the Liberals. There is a difference.

Looks like yesterday's polling was indeed a blip down. Also lol @ the Liberals.

Dosanjh is a liberal. Looks like the Liberal Party is a bastion of failed leaders, eh?

This is silly. Even if the whiners in Alberta tried to get Alberta to leave, the rest of Canada wouldn't let them... and there is a lot more people in the rest of Canada.

lol Conservatives: We want less spending and balanced budgets!!! ...unless someone else does it!

Dear Hardcore Tory Supporters
nittanylionstorm07 replied to nittanylionstorm07's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
How is that ironic? The Republicans of Lincoln's time were on the left wing, Southern Democrats on the right, and Northern Democrats a sort of weird centre-right mix. Gradually over time, the Republicans and the Democrats both began to have a mix of left and right policies, but when Southern Democrats shifted to the Republicans with Nixon's Southern Strategy, that began the modern era of Republicans on the right, Democrats on the left, which was easily hastened by Reagan's policies and inflammatory rhetoric of the past 20 years. -
Realistically, how big a majority could Layton get?

They seem to be unable to control their admiration for Republicans that they have to copy their attitudes, motions, and beliefs. Aw gee whiz then, I guess everybody right of centre is a fascist. -

Ironically, in America, the origin of traditional American conservatism is in Virginia and the southern colonies back around and before the revolutionary war with the Loyalist camp who wanted to keep the King as head of state. They eventually evolved into the slave states, and now they are the center of American conservatism (as it spread across the south, of course). -

Maybe so, back in the PC days... however Reform and SoCred has hijacked that entire side. Also it's taken care of by "hardcore" which refers to those who are blind supporters who believe everything they say to be truth. -
